In the past, I have been an on again off again fan of this location. Today's experience tipped me in the off-again direction. I was seated at the bar, and everyone was social distanced. After I was seated, the bar got rather full, and we lost all social distance - as well as 50% capacity limit. Managers and Employees remove their masks when there are near the Kitchen service line. Tables were seated close together with no distance between. They do not have barriers between the tables. I ordered my steak, medium well, and 40 minutes later the bartender told me that it would be out soon. I had already seen him in the back, looking for the order. Either it was never placed, or they lost it.At the 64 minute mark, I received a well-done chunk of meat. Up to this point, it was a low-carb meal. When my plate was finished, they asked if I would like a dessert. I stated that no, it did not fit into the low-carb category. Let me start by say food tasted great. Neat was juicy and had great flavor. Why I gave this a 3 star is because first I paid over 20 bucks for a 2 meat combo, they gave me 4 wings and 2 and a half pieces of brisket. SMALL 2 and a half pieces. To start let me say that the time we went was a Monday evening and the place was not that busy. That being said let us begin. We were seated in a section that contained initially no one but a group celebrating a birthday and some people who were already eating. The server introduced himself and asked if we wanted something to drink. I asked for water and my partner did the same. And this person disappeared for ten to fifteen minutes. As we looked through the menu we waited for him to show and we settled on various items. And we waited.. and waited. Eventually a second waiter delivered our food and at this point we were eating and I was out of water at this point. My partner got a beer and he drained that and was looking for another beer. No one came. I was eating my meal and craving something cool to drink and no one came to help us. We tried to flag people down however, our original waiter would be here one minute and gone for ten to fifteen. At the end of the meal he gave us the bill and slapped it down disrespectfully and was like "Sorry. we were busy all night " with no empathy and with a bit of snark in his voice. I. was. livid. I got up and walked to the front of the house and put the bill down and said "I want to pay this here.. because I am NOT giving that person another second of my time." She looked horrified as I told them what happened and the crappy experience we had. $77 poorer with a crappy experience , mediocre food and rude staff later.. I even went to tell the experience to someone in the parking lot stating if they wanted crappy service by all means eat at this place. We really appreciate Smokey Bones Fort Wayne for how it served us during the pandemic. Tonight we ordered a pick up order as a last minute option for dinner. I was disappointed in the online options. I could not order from the complete menu - only the "featured" options. We wanted a steak, not ribs and the only option offered now is an18 oz. sweetly coated option. We didn't really need that big of a steak, nor did we want a sweet bourbon flavor. But I ordered anyway because of our past good experiences. Big mistake. The steak was sickening sweet for our taste. My biggest complaint is that the entire menu is not offered for online ordering so that's why only 3 stars. The steak was cooked as we wanted (medium rare), and the sides were perfect, the food was ready when I got there for pick up. But, unfortunately, I doubt we will order pick up again since our options are so limited. read more

Met a friend here while daughter at social. Came in and took seat at bar rail. After a few min, I was asked if I was eating there and given a menu. Requested drink menu and ordered the Shipwreck. It did take time getting it but once received the presentation was beautiful! And drink was tasty. Really liked it. My friend ordered watermelon margarita. The Presentation to that was also pretty but did not taste that good. In fact, it was never drank. We decided to order the appetizer sampler tray. This is your little bit of everything but they have that they have there. Fried pickles (yum), Smokey wings, cheesy fries, and chips with shredded pork. All were great. Presentation presentation was nice and the food was tasty. However it took a while to get our next drinks and nobody asked why the watermelon margarita was not drank. The worst part was I was still waiting on my drink and she came by and took our sampler platter away and we were not done with it. We both looked at each other like what the heck. So as far as the food it's good it's your basic restaurant. You can bring family here it's not good for couples it's good for friends what does service need some tweaking that's for sure. read more

Amazing food every single time. The staff has always been kind, and helpful. The only issue we've run into is that they have no idea what a reservation means. You won't have a table ready for you. My husband and I came to Smokey Bones to try a new BBQ place, seeing that it had good reviews. The food was alright, but my one star is not because of the food here; it is the service. The waiter came by about two mins after we sit down like he was expecting us to be ready to order. Told him we wanted a few more mins and put in our drink orders two glasses of water for my husband and myself. Did not see the waiter again for about 15 mins. Placed our orders and ordered a beer on Tap. The order was delivered to our table by another server and not even our waiter. He was not in sight then seen him take an order from another table. By this time, our water glasses are about empty and I wanted to order another beer. After he took the order from another table, he vanished and did not see him again until we were almost done with our meal. Just spoke in passing "How is everything, did not even make eye contact and was gone again and completely out of sight for another 10 -15 mins. So we had to flag down a completely different server to get our water refilled at the end of the meal. We actually asked a different server to please get our bill, as we were feeling completely disrespected by Smokey Bones by this point. So they actually lost money as I wanted to order a second beer and both of us wanted dessert. Then we finally see our server show up and he just slams the check on the table saying that he is busy. Drinks finally came ten minutes after that. She finally came to ask for orders. My wife wanted a particular dish that they were out of. I also ordered brisket. Out. Seriously? a BBQ place out of brisket? The waitress said oh well that's shaved. We don't have the sandwich one. So I asked for brisket tacos. With attitude she said that's the same brisket like I'm supposed to know. Like what brisket is on the menu then? I don't know enough about cuts to know which dishes I'm allowed to order. The waitress was a HUGE pain and showed no care for the fact we had a large party and a baby. From the moment we showed it was a buzzkill. Anyway the restaurant was out of several items. When we finally got our orders done it took over an hour to get our food...... seriously. Some of us were starving and cranky but the rest of the party was nicer than myself. They wouldn't go to the effort to help negative things. Finally our food came and it was terrible. I ended up ordering pulled pork tacos. Terrible. Cold. All the meat at our table was cooked differently than we ordered. Either too raw or too cooked. I'll attach a photo on the tacos. Seriously....they were soaked. After waiting close to 30 minutes I finally had to heavily wave down a server. When I wave down to server, she saw me and then looked away and tried to blatantly ignore me afterwards. They only finally walked up to our table when I said out loud that this was stupid and that we were going to leave. Then the server that ignored me said that she didn't think that I was trying to wave her down. She then stated that we weren't in her section, and she only offered to take our order when I said we've been waiting 30 minutes and have been ignored and we were leaving. Decent place, would go back. Good ribs - favorite in Fort Wayne so far; they are pre-made and full of preservatives, but quite good. High drink prices. Paying happens through a little at-the-table machine, so no waiting for the bill, which is nice if you're eating before a movie. Very convenient! Tables can be pushed together to accommodate a large group, and the pay-machine handles this with no problem too. Both times I have been here staff was very friendly and helpful. read more

We just went to celebrate my son's birthday and I was so dissatisfied that I will never return even if it was free. They no longer carry avocado Turkey burgers and they don't even carry avocados. I asked for medium well hamburger and it was well done. Our fried pickles were so over cooked. My friend order mahi mahi sandwich and got a bun with a small slice of over cooked fish with no condiments or lettuce & tomato. They served all of us except my husband and when I questioned it the waiter was not even aware. My husband got a cold meal. We travel an hour to dine at this establishment. I cannot say enough good things about the smoked wings. They are to die for. My boyfriend always loves the spicy sausage. Of the six times we've been there, only once, it just felt like the food wasn't very hot and fresh. We just went again yesterday, they did not disappoint. Our waitress was super nice as well. Ordered wings for the first/ last time from Smokey Bones this evening. I gave 2 stars for the following: 1. Curbside pick up. 2. On time. Brought them right out. I took away 3 stars for the following: 1. The wings were so dry it was literally like chewing on leather. I'm guessing cooked then recooked. 1/4 of them were little more than bones with skin. 2. 4 completely different sauce flavors and 3 tasted the same ( and not good at that). 3. One tiny half full 2 oz container of Ranch to dip the dry wings in. ( I asked for enough for 32 wings). Out of 32 wings we ate 4 or 5 then gave them to the dogs. They were so dry one of the dogs got choked so we threw the rest away. Was happy with my last two smokey bones meals but these wings were horrible. read more

Gave them 4 stars cause not only the food came really well packaged but everything actually tasted decent I ordered the pulled pork/brisket/grilled shrimp with loaded mash potatoes and loaded baked potato now the baked potato was a lil bit hard but it happens I didn't eat it right there and then it was delivery so I know food sometimes looks/feels ways better when you eat at the restaurant but the mash was so good. They give you x2 bread cute tasty and even thou portion wise it didn't look like omg it's huge!!! it really fills you up like do not be deceive by amount yo see. good food for sure you will be full by the time your done eating.and being able to taste x3 different protein was pretty nice a little bit of everything sorts speak I was very satisfy for a bbq place they did great will def be trying out new things from them pretty soon. read more

I have been here about once every one to two months for the last three years. My first experience, wasn't good when ordering a steak and my experience yesterday when ordering the Hawaiian Ribeye was OK. I was disappointed with the price of it ($29) compared to my expectations. The menu said that it was soaked in pineapple juice for something like 24 hours, but the steak just tasted like a good steak. I didn't get any Hawaiian flavors from it. It didn't taste like it should cost $29 though! So, just go somewhere else if you want a steak. Also don't get a baked potato if you like to eat the skin. The skin is hard. I think they keep baked potatoes sitting around for awhile. On to the good... They have excellent sausage. Get the pick two or three meal and make sure the sausage is one of your picks. Heck pick it twice. Their smoke wings are delicious; the smoked flavor is present. I usually get the a sliced meat so that I can use their BBQ sauces that are one the table; they have about five sauces to pick from. The BBQ chicken was OK, but I wouldn't get it again; its not better than the other picks and it already has BBQ on it which makes using their table sauces pointless. They also have good burgers. Their Bones Brew beer is a good beer that is cheap enough. The waitress told me that it was Killians Red. I would say that is accurate. Make sure to get their loyalty rewards card. We eat their once a month and after about three visits we have earned a $10 credit towards our bill. They also have $10 off $25 coupons that come in the mail and the coupon and the loyalty reward credit can be combined together. read more

We got "endless wings" and the first set came out with 8 wings, went to order our second set, they took around 20 minutes to get F O U R more wings... we went to order another set because at this point, we only had 12 wings. The service is always nice and the staff is always pleasant. The food is subpar and very much hit-or-miss. The pulled pork is generally pretty good, but most of the other items I have tried have simply come up short. Not to mention, the prices are pretty high for the overall quality of what you are getting. I can usually go to any other steakhouse location and get more quality and quantity for a much lower price. The smoked wings are delicious but the rest of the food is mediocre and the service has steadily gone downhill and has been absolutely terrible the last two or three times I have gone. I went with some friends to watch a football game and we asked the bartender and eventually the manager several times to put it on just one of the TVs, they were not very busy, and when they eventually got around to putting the game on it was halftime. Being as they are a sports bar, that was very disappointing. We came to watch the game and it's not like there were other games on that people were watching that we were asking them to turn off. Service was slow and other than the smoked wings the food was not that good. What made me stop going here is the last time I went in, we were sat at a table and waited a good ten or fifteen minutes with waitress after waitress walking by us and not a single person stopping to say anything. It was a Sunday afternoon in the summer and they were not busy AT ALL. Eventually, given my past experiences here, we got up and left thinking the service was not going to improve throughout the meal.
