The lemonade was very fresh. The store was really clean. Employees were fully immersed in providing service. I had to wait a couple minutes and they comped us a lemonade. The ribs tasted great but were not even close to being tender. The baked beans were above average! The pit master nachos were fabulous and heaped on a plate would serve two. Ordered the Cobb salad and smoked turkey along with their "low country" tangy bbq sauce. The salad was... well... a salad. It was fine, but not memorable... but I'm not going to ding them for that, it's a salad. The smoked turkey was pretty good but not the best bbq and didn't quite taste like it was made with heart and soul like some of the best smoked turkey I've had. Like it was smoky but not quite enough or all through the meat. Then I looked online and saw it was a chain (I'm from out of state in a state without them) so that probably explains it. Bbq sauce was spicier than the description made it sound so if you get the low country beware that it is a little more than just tangy, but it was pretty good too. read more

This is a 3.5 review and I'm pleasantly surprised. I've visited this chain in another city on a few occasions and I wasn't particularly impressed after the initial visit. The local business seems to have established a good rhythm. This City Barbeque has a courteous staff and that's always a plus. I encountered several people willing to help and direct me to the best option for me for lunch. The inside is strictly rudimentary and functional which didn't bother me. I ribs were tasty, the pulled chicken was a tad too seasoned for me, the pulled pork was exceptional. I was skeptical of a fast casual bbq restaurant with the competition in town, but the food and cost surpassed my expectation. We placed our order only and it was super fast for pickup. Given our party of six this would give us a chance to try everything. The motherload only cost 75 dollars and easily feeds six people. It includes Beef brisket, pulled pork, turkey breast, two sausages, a half slab of ribs, a half bird, six individual sides, cornbread, and Texas toast. There is also six individual sides. The meats were smoked beautifully with great bark and super moist. There was not one thing we did not enjoy. The tub of bbq sauce was very generous as well! We will be back soon! read more

I ordered a 2 meat 2 side plate. I received two small (so one strip of broken) brisket, and 8 cubes of burnt pork belly ends, four of those straight fat, not crispy at all, covered in sauce. I paid an additional 3.79 for each of these choices. Baby there isn't even enough brisket to fold a piece of bread In half. This texas toast isn't Texas toast; rather a semi loaf. Being from down south, bbq up here isn't the same but the online ordering was looking yummy. I know for a fact I could have ordered from a closer location and the portions be bigger and better for the same price. I also asked for bbq on the side and asked for an additional as they had no descriptions of sauces on sight or an add on button. I also asked for onions and pickles bc it's bbq; they have sandwich's with them on it and it reads Texas style bbq, no notes were read, on 1/2 ounce cup of bbq for two meets. Make it make sense. I also ordered the strawberry cobbler it showed a ball of what's described as cheesecake style or something, it's milk in a cup and the cobbler is burnt, doesn't taste anything like cheesecake or strawberries or cobbler, maybe bad batch, dunno. But as a first timer, not thrilled. Overall, I'd skip this place next time. read more

We love City BBQ smoked meats. We ate at this Fort Wayne location the day it opened and at least once a a week since, as well as getting carry out meats to enjoy at home. The pulled pork, brisket and turkey are all consistently really good! We also love the slaw and potato salad. The green beans and collard greens are country style and yummy, and the side salad is good as well. Today we decided to try the tacos - pulled pork tacos and turkey tacos. We were disappointed, to say the least. There were two pulled pork tacos with a nice amount of meat, but very little slaw. Then there was a a pulled pork taco with very little meat, and very little slaw. Lastly, the turkey taco had almost no meat. We actually moved the slaw and searched for the meat. When you are getting a taco, you want the soft taco shell to look filled, just as you want your sandwich to not be mostly bread. Super disappointing! I hope they will improve this bc I love tacos. read more

My family got to be a part of the soft opening. I had the "More Cowbell" and loved the experience of just ordering it. I tried multiple BBQ sauces with it. Also tried the Coleslaw, Corn pudding, and the Green Beans & Bacon. Everything tasted great and was smoked to perfection. Service was fast and the employees were great at answering our questions. I was craving mac & cheese and fried pickles. I figured a bbq place would have great mac & cheese and fried pickles. However, I was wrong. The pickles were greasy, salt bombs. The batter wasn't even cooked all the way nor crispy. The ranch was forgotten and I had even noted for extra. It wasn't in a box, just in a paper hold with a layer of wax paper over it. The mac & cheese was so bland and overcooked. I tried adding seasoning but it didn't make a difference and I couldn't get past the texture of the overcooked noodles. Just a huge disappointment. I'm not sure if their other dishes are good but I can say to avoid their fried pickles and mac & cheese. read more

The food was decent, but overpriced and the serving sizes were small. I ordered the pulled pork nachos and there was MAYBE 3 oz of pork on the nachos and two pieces were burned too much to eat. Daughter ordered a full rack of ribs ($30 I think) and it sure didn't look like a full rack that we get anywhere else. Service was fine and the restaurant was clean. Best ribs and brisket in town. Wings are pretty good if you're expecting the distinctive smoked taste and not typical buffalo wings. Pulled pork and sausage are good. Brushfire barbecue sauce is very good, as is swine wine if you're not expecting typical barbecue sauce. Regular barbecue sauce isn't bad, haven't tried sweet. Collard greens, green beans, Texas toast, and cornbread are good. Daughters love the fries. Nashville tenders are nothing special. Highly recommended. read more

Got to visit City Barbeque in Jefferson point area today. all I have to say is you got to try it smoked chili brisket was absolutely amazing. there was one gentleman that stood out to us very kind smile on his face and look as he was working hard. he checked on us and also offered to refill our drink. you would never expect that at a self-serve restaurant. We were so excited to try out City BBQ, but honestly it wasn't as good as I'd hoped. We drove through on a Sunday afternoon. We weren't really sure what to get and the person at the speaker wasn't really helpful. We ordered the nachos, and then the FEEDS 4-6 w/brisket/pulled pork, corn pudding and Mac n Cheese and 5 drinks. We asked for utensils/plates/napkins because it said they were provided if asked for and we weren't headed home. Our bill was over $100, no worries BBQ can be pricy and I'm fine to pay for it, if it's worth it. Sorry to say, this wasn't. They didn't give us any plates/napkins/cutlery and they forgot the bbq sauce so after we arrived and opened everything up, we headed back to pick everything up because we didn't really have a choice. They did give us a chocolate cake piece for the inconvenience, but by then all the food was cold. The brisket was amazing, even cold & the chocolate cake and nachos were pretty good. Tphe BBQ sauce was basically KC Masterpiece sauce and the Mac and cheese was not good at all. Just not worth the money for me. Give it a try for yourself, this is just my opinion, I'd rather eat at Ziffles or Shigs. read more
