    Special 2-meat platter

Very good BBQ in a strip mall. You order at the counter and can either eat in or take out. We ordered two two-meat platters to go. Each comes with two sides. The brisket was a lot of meat! Rib tips were flavorful. Chopped pork was good and comes on Texas toast. We got a sweet and spicy and a medium bbq sauce but wish there was a milder option as well. We didn't get the vinegar sauce so maybe that was the mild one. Smoked Mac and cheese was good. Corn bread was ok. 4 people shared the two meals and were full. Generous portions and good prices. Helpful worker answered all our questions. Lots of seating if you were to eat in.

    Magical pork belly bliss!

I stumbled across Bo Doogie's while running errands and being a barbecue junky, I had to stop & check it out. Walking into the place, it doesn't much impress, it has more of a "takeout" feel to it, but hey, barbecue is about the food, not the atmosphere. And trust me when I say that you're probably better off taking it out at this place because if you stay, you will struggle to resist the urge to eat everything on the menu. I ordered the two meat combo with burnt ends and pork belly. I chose corn bread and smoked Mac as my sides because, BBQ, that's why! First off, the portions are large. Worth the price. The smoked Mac was on point. In a perfect world it would be a tad creamier but the flavor absolutely compensates. I know that cornbread is like wine, everyone has their own preferences. That being said, I'm a traditional, grainy, yet slightly moist corn bread kind of guy. The cornbread here comes in the form of a muffin and acts very much like one. Good flavor with a hint of sweetness. It pinches like fresh white bread but gives a bit of a dry mouth feel. I don't hate it, nor do I love it. Now for the big stuff, the meat. The burnt ends; very tender and super flavorful, however, having that beautiful bark on only two sides, I would say they're more "chunks of brisket " than true burnt ends. But well worth eating nonetheless. The pork belly; this is why I never drive past a bbq joint. That magnificent pile of man-candy was borderline orgasmic. I would drive a hundred miles to eat this stuff for 3 meals a day if I could get it past my wife and cardiologist. Absolutely delicious!!!! The sauces; the standard BBQ sauce is quite good. Exactly what I look for in a restaurant that specializes in BBQ. The spicy version however is, in my opinion, missing something. The heat is mild to mid, the flavor is okay but it just tastes a bit flat to me. Don't get me wrong, I wouldn't throw it away, but again, it's not dissimilar to cornbread, in that individual tastes and preferences will vary. Overall, an excellent choice if you're hankering for good, hand made BBQ .

    Tri-Tip and Ribs

BoDoo BBQ is close to the highway and hotels. My 2-meats were the Tri-Tip and ribs. The tips were nicely smoked but a bit chewy - not quite slow cooked. Ribs were good - I got 5 bones. For sides - greens were bland, sweet potato mash was ok. Service was courteous and prompt. I'd like to try the other meats.

Bo Doogie's is located in a strip mall off one of the main streets in Auburn. While the route there is easy...it isn't as easy to find or figure out how to get into the parking lot. Plenty of parking not an issue. The store is small with a moderate amount of seating. Upon arrival the person behind the counter will direct you to the menu to order. You order and pay before you are seated. The restaurant is clean and comfortable. There is a mix of booth and table seating. The place is small so this isn't the best for groups. I found the staff to be very friendly and helpful. We arrived around 6:30pm on a Thursday evening. The store was fairly empty by this point. The down side is that there were only about three items available to order. This isn't uncommon at BBQ places. It was disappointing that, as a first time diner, that we couldn't try some of the foundation menu items. I ordered the chicken wing plate which included two sides for a relatively low price of $13. I picked the mac & cheese and potato salad and corn bread as a side. Each side came in a relatively small cup while the corn muffin was HUGE - definitely could share amongst two people. The mac & cheese was okay. The noodles were nice and soft. The dish has a good cheddar cheese taste. The sauce isn't creamy. It's more of the cheese melted onto the noddles. The mac & cheese was luke warm which was okay...but not preferred. The potato salad was rather bland. There were smaller chunks of skin-on potato in a light Mayo sauce. The potatoes were soft with a slight amount of firmness - which was nicely done. There wasn't any real discernible spice or flavor. No much add on items for give the potato salad some zip. The corn bread muffin was outstanding. I was taken aback by the size. It was really more than I wanted to eat. The muffin was very soft, moist and had a sweet flavor. The muffin could easily be cut apart and only slightly crumbled. It came with a pat of butter and small packet of honey. Excellent side! Now for the good stuff! There were 10 large and meaty wings in the plate. The chicken was perfectly cooked and moist. There was a slight smoke flavor. The wing skin was a beautiful grilled brown color. The skin had a slight crisp to it while remaining very moist. The wings are cooked without BBQ sauce - you pick the sauce and bathe it to your choosing. I was very impressed with the wings! Perhaps some of the best wings you would find at a BBQ place in the area. Bo Doogies has three basic BBQ sauces: sweet, spicy and vinegar. I only tried the sweet and spicy sauces. Both of these sauces were moderately thick in consistency. They had a good BBQ flavor without being over powering. The sweet sauce had a nice level of sweetness - it was a mild level, not over the top sweet. The spicy was also mild to accent the meat without over powering you with heat. I enjoyed both sauces equally. I liked Bo Doogies. They did a nice job. I look forward to coming back to try some other traditional BBQ items. I would encourage you to give it a try.

Chicken is so moist. Just right on the smoke .

I'm a want to be pit master. That Being said I go to quite a few barbecue places. I was surprised when I went to this establishment. Just had a feeling it will be mediocre. That wasn't the case. They're burnt ends were spot on and they smoked chicken was wonderful. Typically you rate a barbecue joint on their sides. This place won't disappoint. Their collard greens we're off the charts along with their smoke macaroni. Have to say it's at the top of my list for barbecue joints that I visited.

We were very pleased with everything we ordered from Bo Doogie's. I thought the ribs were incredible and my husband really liked the brisket. Mac & cheese, sweet potato casserole, and cornbread were all also really really good. We recommend going early as they do sell out of some meats! Best BBQ in the Auburn area.

The remnants of my ribs, fabulous Mac n Cheese, and good but different Cole slaw.

I ordered one dressed with lettuce & tomato with a side of fries & Cole slaw. Word of warning. Don't. Do not order this. The loin was pounded thin and beautifully fried. HOWEVER....ZERO taste. Zero seasoning. Zero. Not even salt. The breading was moist underneath and a little "doughy"- and sat like an old wet sock in my stomach. There was absolutely nothing to save this poor BAT other than copious amounts of ketchup for flavor. How in the hell are you gonna go to the effort of pounding out a beautiful tenderloin paper thin in spots and NOT even attempt to season your breading? No salt. No pepper. No Cavenders. No Adobe. No Lawreys. How does this happen? The world may never know. The lettuce topper was 1/2 Romaine leaf and 1/2 iceberg & wilted. The tomato slices (2) should have been thrown out yesterday. Pinkish & slimy - side of botulism please. The menu lists the "tiny little bun" as being "grilled". That bun never came close to the damned grill. It was a plain white hamburger bun as fresh as can be. A second plate should be brought so customers don't have to cut/rip the tenderloin on a napkin on the table. How can a waitress knowingly ask how "things are tasting" and not see you hacking this shoe leather bland swine piled on a napkin? Never mind. I was already turned off from the first taste while cutting it up & knew 80% of it was staying there for the trash can. No way any of that was coming home. My husband ordered a Ruben with fries & Cole slaw. First thing out of his mouth was "fries are horrible". Yikes! How can you f$&k up fries? Cheap fries in old oil without salt & they sat NOT under lamps....they were cold - only explanation. His Ruben came without any thousand island dressing & he was already pissed abt the fries. Smallest Rueben I've ever seen for $10.95 - fries and Cole slaw were extra. So for $10,95 that meat better be piled on the marbled rye! The CocaCola mix was perfect as was their unsweetened tea. We sat quietly waiting for our bill & upon arriving it was someone else's & needed to be re-rung. 15min later we're still waiting for it. We were one of 3, 4 tops so the place wasn't packed at all. Note to self - go to Mad Anthony's for tenderloin and Rueben and you won't be served disappointment with a side of sadness. I wanted to really like this place. It failed miserably.

Greeted and drink orders were taken. At the same time we order a 2 item bites combo with the loaded tots and fried pickles. When our drinks arrived we ordered our entrees. Two of us ordered greens salads (which we bacame more and more thankful for since time just kept ticking away with no other food present). In fact we did not receive our starter until over 45 minutes after we ordered. We ended up asking our server when the food would be coming out. She only then told us that the kitchen was backed up. When it did come out they were both sitting in oil. They were piping hot which was a plus. But after waiting so long we devoured them. Another 10-15 minutes went by and 3 of the 4 adult meals along with the child's meal came out. We then had to ask about the 4th meal (which happened to be the same entree as one that had been received). Yet another wait...she ended up eating the child's meal since he was in full melt down over not eating and hers took an extra...additional 10 minutes. When it did come out. It was missing a side. Which we were then informed (an hour and 10 +minutes since ordering) they had run out of dumplings and she was asked to pick a different side. By this point all the food had come out. But it was all overly saturated with oil and no one got a chance to really eat so 90+% of it we had to box up and take with us as we were beyond melting point. We do not have Cracker Barrel by us but even if we did I would most likely not return after this experience. At any point before ordering someone could have let us know food was running an hour or so wait. When we said something to the cashier she said she had no idea things were so backed up. There definitely is a lack of communication. Had we known there was such a great wait we would have gone someplace else since a 3 year old doesn't understand such a wait for dinner. And now after the longest dinner ever. We have a 45 minute drive back home. Gonna be a late night.

Unfortunately, this visit completely ruined what was supposed to be a special day for us. Our server, Amber, never once came back to check on our table after the food was delivered. She did not ask how the steaks were cooked, whether we needed refills, or if everything was okay. We were left completely unattended throughout the meal. At one point, my husband asked for more butter for the rolls, and instead of simply bringing butter, she brought an entirely new basket of rolls with three butters. We sent the rolls back and left the butter untouched on the table. A manager eventually came over after we expressed concerns, and we explained that Amber had not checked on us a single time during the meal. What made the situation even worse was hearing Amber respond by saying, "I don't deal with disgruntled customers." That response was disappointing, dismissive, and completely unprofessional. This was our anniversary dinner, and instead of enjoying a special occasion, we left frustrated and disappointed. We have always had much better experiences at Texas Roadhouse, which is why this visit was so surprising. Management should review the footage from this visit. It will clearly show that our table was never properly attended to after the food arrived. We truly hope this location returns to the level of service and professionalism customers normally expect from Texas Roadhouse.

Head north on 327...about 15 minutes north of Dupont Road. They are located in a strip mall, just as you get into town, on the west side of the road. There is plenty of easy-access parking. The restaurant is smaller as it holds about 50 people. It can be busy. There are ample tables for 4 people and some for parties of 8-10 people. The menu is fairly small with only 8 specialty pizzas. Only two items on the appetizer menu - the beer cheese is a MUST try. The pizzas seem pretty reasonable priced for a 12 inch stone fired pizza - $13.45. Coterie has self serve beverage service. You can choose from one of five local beers - and pay by the ounce. Or you can fill up your cup at the soda/tea center. The team here is very friendly and helpful. They all work hard to make sure you have a good customer experience - which we did! Plenty of kitchen help to keep the food rolling..especially at peak diner time! Here is a run down on the items we ordered: -Caprese salad: smaller dish for $5.99. All cherry tomatoes and basil were very fresh and cool to taste. The mozzarella cheese and toppings blended well with the olive oil and balsamic vinegar flavors. Easy to share. -Beer Cheese ($6.99): a layer of pizza dough rolled out thin and baked to a slightly chewy texture. The dough has a slight garlicky flavor and cut into nice sized shareable pieces. The beer cheese is smooth, creamy and dreamy! You get hints of beer amongst the mild cheese flavors. The sauce is a bit thin and simply addicting! -Chicken bruschetta pizza: The golden brown crust is a little tough as it is well baked but still chewable. No special flavors are added to the crust. The bottom was soft and white. The chicken bruschetta is not your typical pizza creation. The tomato sauce was rather thin and only added a mild tomato taste zip. The chicken was tender and picked up the flavors that surrounded it nicely. The cherry tomatoes and basil toppings were very fresh and tasty. They blended really well with the olive oil and balsamic vinegar drizzles. The fresh mozzarella cheese was sprinkled in enough to help hold all the toppings in place.
