My family and I recently visited Bo Doogie's BBQ. BBQ is one of our favorite summertime meals, and when it's done right, you really can't go wrong with good barbecue. We're always excited to try different BBQ spots because great barbecue has a way of bringing people together. There's just something about the smoky flavors, slow-cooked meats, and classic sides that makes it such a comforting and satisfying meal, especially during the summer months. Bo Doogie's BBQ definitely has that classic barbecue feel. The smell of BBQ alone gets your appetite going the moment you arrive. When the food came out, it had that rich, smoky aroma that you hope for when you're visiting a BBQ place. BBQ is one of those foods that's simple but when it's done well, it's absolutely delicious. It's a meal our whole family enjoys, and it's always fun finding new places that serve up good barbecue. Overall, if you're someone who enjoys classic barbecue flavors and a laid-back place to enjoy a meal with family, Bo Doogie's BBQ is worth stopping by to give it a try. read more

I loved Barbecue! I had burnt ends with collard greens and baked beans. So amazing! I highly recommend this eatery if you find yourself in Auburn Indiana! read more

Very good BBQ in a strip mall. You order at the counter and can either eat in or take out. We ordered two two-meat platters to go. Each comes with two sides. The brisket was a lot of meat! Rib tips were flavorful. Chopped pork was good and comes on Texas toast. We got a sweet and spicy and a medium bbq sauce but wish there was a milder option as well. We didn't get the vinegar sauce so maybe that was the mild one. Smoked Mac and cheese was good. Corn bread was ok. 4 people shared the two meals and were full. Generous portions and good prices. Helpful worker answered all our questions. Lots of seating if you were to eat in. read more

I stumbled across Bo Doogie's while running errands and being a barbecue junky, I had to stop & check it out. Walking into the place, it doesn't much impress, it has more of a "takeout" feel to it, but hey, barbecue is about the food, not the atmosphere. And trust me when I say that you're probably better off taking it out at this place because if you stay, you will struggle to resist the urge to eat everything on the menu. I ordered the two meat combo with burnt ends and pork belly. I chose corn bread and smoked Mac as my sides because, BBQ, that's why! First off, the portions are large. Worth the price. The smoked Mac was on point. In a perfect world it would be a tad creamier but the flavor absolutely compensates. I know that cornbread is like wine, everyone has their own preferences. That being said, I'm a traditional, grainy, yet slightly moist corn bread kind of guy. The cornbread here comes in the form of a muffin and acts very much like one. Good flavor with a hint of sweetness. It pinches like fresh white bread but gives a bit of a dry mouth feel. I don't hate it, nor do I love it. Now for the big stuff, the meat. The burnt ends; very tender and super flavorful, however, having that beautiful bark on only two sides, I would say they're more "chunks of brisket " than true burnt ends. But well worth eating nonetheless. The pork belly; this is why I never drive past a bbq joint. That magnificent pile of man-candy was borderline orgasmic. I would drive a hundred miles to eat this stuff for 3 meals a day if I could get it past my wife and cardiologist. Absolutely delicious!!!! The sauces; the standard BBQ sauce is quite good. Exactly what I look for in a restaurant that specializes in BBQ. The spicy version however is, in my opinion, missing something. The heat is mild to mid, the flavor is okay but it just tastes a bit flat to me. Don't get me wrong, I wouldn't throw it away, but again, it's not dissimilar to cornbread, in that individual tastes and preferences will vary. Overall, an excellent choice if you're hankering for good, hand made BBQ . read more

BoDoo BBQ is close to the highway and hotels. My 2-meats were the Tri-Tip and ribs. The tips were nicely smoked but a bit chewy - not quite slow cooked. Ribs were good - I got 5 bones. For sides - greens were bland, sweet potato mash was ok. Service was courteous and prompt. I'd like to try the other meats. read more

Bo Doogie's BBQ - Tri-Tip and Ribs - Barbeque Near Me - Auburn, Indiana

Bo Doogie's is located in a strip mall off one of the main streets in Auburn. While the route there is easy...it isn't as easy to find or figure out how to get into the parking lot. Plenty of parking not an issue. The store is small with a moderate amount of seating. Upon arrival the person behind the counter will direct you to the menu to order. You order and pay before you are seated. The restaurant is clean and comfortable. There is a mix of booth and table seating. The place is small so this isn't the best for groups. I found the staff to be very friendly and helpful. We arrived around 6:30pm on a Thursday evening. The store was fairly empty by this point. The down side is that there were only about three items available to order. This isn't uncommon at BBQ places. It was disappointing that, as a first time diner, that we couldn't try some of the foundation menu items. I ordered the chicken wing plate which included two sides for a relatively low price of $13. I picked the mac & cheese and potato salad and corn bread as a side. Each side came in a relatively small cup while the corn muffin was HUGE - definitely could share amongst two people. The mac & cheese was okay. The noodles were nice and soft. The dish has a good cheddar cheese taste. The sauce isn't creamy. It's more of the cheese melted onto the noddles. The mac & cheese was luke warm which was okay...but not preferred. The potato salad was rather bland. There were smaller chunks of skin-on potato in a light Mayo sauce. The potatoes were soft with a slight amount of firmness - which was nicely done. There wasn't any real discernible spice or flavor. No much add on items for give the potato salad some zip. The corn bread muffin was outstanding. I was taken aback by the size. It was really more than I wanted to eat. The muffin was very soft, moist and had a sweet flavor. The muffin could easily be cut apart and only slightly crumbled. It came with a pat of butter and small packet of honey. Excellent side! Now for the good stuff! There were 10 large and meaty wings in the plate. The chicken was perfectly cooked and moist. There was a slight smoke flavor. The wing skin was a beautiful grilled brown color. The skin had a slight crisp to it while remaining very moist. The wings are cooked without BBQ sauce - you pick the sauce and bathe it to your choosing. I was very impressed with the wings! Perhaps some of the best wings you would find at a BBQ place in the area. Bo Doogies has three basic BBQ sauces: sweet, spicy and vinegar. I only tried the sweet and spicy sauces. Both of these sauces were moderately thick in consistency. They had a good BBQ flavor without being over powering. The sweet sauce had a nice level of sweetness - it was a mild level, not over the top sweet. The spicy was also mild to accent the meat without over powering you with heat. I enjoyed both sauces equally. I liked Bo Doogies. They did a nice job. I look forward to coming back to try some other traditional BBQ items. I would encourage you to give it a try. read more

Always good food and very kind service. Prices are within the average range. Absolutely love the wings.

Food was served fast and hot need I say more all said the price was really good the food was amazing. I will be returning. read more

Really impressive chopped chicken. Enjoyed it and would gladly go back. Anytime I am in the area I will be looking to make a meal there.

Great food and the service is always fast and friendly. Auburn is lucky to have them!

Too expensive. Food is good, but it is not worth the price. I get that bidenflation is still going on, but you should not be hungry when you LEAVE the restaurant. read more

I thought this place was just fine. Everything we ordered, they had. The Burnt Ends were particularly good I thought. They were blackened but not dried out. Portion size was enough for the two us for a whole other meal and we still have a bit left over. Sides were Collard greens and smoked Mac and Cheese. The greens were a bit too fibrous or woody. A second serving of sauce with the take out order would have been nice. Restaurant was clean and inside dining was available. I felt a little bad for them. Less than a half a block away a portable smoker was set up. It just doesn't seem fair that a " here today--gone tomorrow" place gets to set up and compete with an established restaurant. read more

WORTH THE DRIVE! We stopped in here on our way to Detroit. My husband had been here before and raved about it. It did not disappoint! I got the brisket plate with mac and cheese and the cornbread. All of it was so so good! (My mouth is currently watering thinking about it). My husband LOVES the burnt ends but unfortunately they were sold out. When they sell out of one thing, they do not make more for the day. You're out of luck unfortunately so get there early. But they have a lot of other great options. The mac and cheese had a smokey taste that was OMG to die for! Not too smokey that it took away from the cheesy flavor. They are not open on Sundays so keep that in mind if you're passing through or making a special trip just to try this place out! Trust me when I tell you, it's worth the drive! Updated review: Bo Doogies has increased and diversified their offerings since my last review. It appears that this has helped with inventory management. I was able to walk in and get exactly what I wanted yesterday, but for context, it was their first day open of the week. I'll update further if they still seem to be doing well when I go on a weekend. read more

I'm a want to be pit master. That Being said I go to quite a few barbecue places. I was surprised when I went to this establishment. Just had a feeling it will be mediocre. That wasn't the case. They're burnt ends were spot on and they smoked chicken was wonderful. Typically you rate a barbecue joint on their sides. This place won't disappoint. Their collard greens we're off the charts along with their smoke macaroni. Have to say it's at the top of my list for barbecue joints that I visited. read more

What do you want to hear about most, my fabulous experienced BBQ palate, or how good the food is here? I don't live here, so I only come here infrequently. Every time I've been here I leave thinking "I need to remember this place". My preference is brisket, and theirs has always been good. Very good. I don't really like ribs, but they were sold out of brisket by the time I got here tonight. The ribs were good! Meaty, no fat to speak of, fell off the bone, nicely flavored and great bbq sauce. I thought they were also good. I'll come back. You should check it out too! Order at the counter, then sit at a table with paper towels on a roll and some bottles of bbq. You've been to places like this before! And if you come here, chances are the food will be very good. And for the record, I've had bbq in many of the lower 48... read more

Bo Doogie's BBQ - The remnants of my ribs, fabulous Mac n Cheese, and good but different Cole slaw. - Barbeque Near Me - Auburn, Indiana

Background: I lived in KansasCity for over 10 years and was spoiled. Moist and flavorful BBq products with topshelf customer service. The people behind the counter knew taking care of the customer was job one and that is what kept the doors open. So, with this mind set I entered Bo Doogies. I wanted to get a lot of their product in order to sample for an upcoming graduation party, wedding and 50th birthday celebration. So, this was a carry out order, not dine in. The transaction: I ordered a slab of ribs and continued with a pound of brisket. My order was interrupted by the counter person focusing on my sides to be included with the ribs. I mentioned I would focus on the sides later since I wanted to continue ordering some pulled pork and some chickens. However, that was not the case, the counter person was focused to ensure my order conveniently fit into the keyboard on the cash register. I was about to place a decent size order, we could evaluate the high margin sides later. However at this point, I realized any long term relationship with this establishment was a pipe dream. The counter person was not interested in establishing a long-term customer, he was just focused on fitting my order on to the keyboard and getting me out the door of an empty (customer) restaurant. The Review: My ribs were flavorful and not over cooked. Plenty of sauce was provided on the product. I would say 7.5 out of 10. The brisket was dry, low smoke ring, no sauce provided. 4.5 out of 10. And the sides were an absolute joke and dry. Sides came in a container equivalent what you would be provided extra ketchup or mustard. Nowhere near what is required to support a meal for 2 people. Conclusion: Put people behind the counter that want to be part of business and understand the importance of customer service. I know that challenging in today's times. Perhaps you as the owner needs to get back in the business or face losing it. I was very pissed about the quantity and low quality of the sides. Sides are easy, and if you can not get this right perhaps you should just give up!! read more

For northern BBQ, this is about as good as it gets. Brisket, burnt ends, hot link, wings and ribs are delicious and the smokey Mac and Cheese is great. Is it ever open? We've been by several times and never seem to catch it open. If it's closed permanently, please put some kind of sign.

We split the burnt ends / rib combo with side of sweet potatoes and the slaw. Some of the best BBQ I've had . Huge portions and the place is clean and staff very friendly. Can't wait to get back there and try the other items on the menu. Decided we needed to get the burnt end sandwich to go for a late night snack. They were that good. read more

Best bbq in NE Indiana. They are friendly and clean as well as personable. You do need to be a fan of smoke flavor as even the Mac n' cheese is "Smoked Mac n' cheese". It incredible I love it but not everybody does. Get the rib tips; leave all the burnt ends for me. Thank you. read more

When you leave the area for a few years and come back to visit, you find gems like this. Northern Indiana isn't known much for its BBQ, but this place meets the mark! As soon as you pull up in the parking lot, you can smell the smoke. They offer several different types of meat and sides. I opted to try the 2 meat platter where you get two meats and two sides. My personal opinion, this is the best option whenever available. I chose the hot link and smoked wings with a side of the smoked wings and a pice of cornbread. The hot link was spicy but not overpowering. It was so good I could have ate a few more. The smoked wings were delicious as well. A little charred, smoky and juicy. There were great and really worth trying. The smocked Mac and cheese was cheesy and smoky, a great combination. Finally the cornbread was warm, crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside. My girlfriend had the brisket plate. The brisket was juicy and also delicious. So far, there was nothing bad here, next time I'm already planning for the ribs! The service staff was amazing. All very friendly and attentive. They bring the food too your table and are just really happy about the product they produce. If I were them, I would be too. This is a great BBQ place for the small town of auburn. read more

Bo Doogie's BBQ - Hot link, smoked wings, Mac and cheese and corn bread - Barbeque Near Me - Auburn, Indiana

From Indianapolis to Detroit, stopped in on our way for lunch. A friend we were with had been here before while on a work trip, where he said this was a MUST stop. He was right. Love a good BBQ place and this one didn't disappoint. I had the 2 meat plate that I split with my BF. We had the brisket and the rip-tips. The brisket was my favorite, so tender, juicy, and flavorful. My BF smashed the rib-tips! We got the Mac & Cheese and cornbread, with an additional side of the sweet potatoes casserole. Perfect amount to split, esp with someone that is a meat lover! The Mac & Cheese was SO good, could tell it was cooked on the roasted too, has it has a BBQ/Smoker taste to it. Cornbread was great and not dry at all. Sweet potato casserole was delicious too. 3 of the 4 of us hadn't been here before, so we had some questions. Collin at the counter was super happy, helpful, and so nice! Really made the experience enjoyable! If we are ever in FT Wayne or passing through, this will be a stop for sure! read more

As far as I'm aware, this is one of if not the best place to eat in the area so long as you can appreciate bbq. I absolutely love their Coleslaw (one of the best I've ever had) and Cornbread and definitely recommend their Burnt Ends platter or the sandwich. I would say that they do not have the best brisket though. Every time I'm in the area I make a point to have lunch at this place at least once. I recommend getting there as soon as possible because they only make so much and they often run out of a lot of things. Try all of their sauces too, all good in their own aspects. The staff is also always very friendly. The restaurant is a comfortable temperature, there isn't loud music, and even when it's packed it's not noisy. read more

Found this little gem while traveling for work. I'm mighty particular on my BBQ so this review may seem "harsh" but for those of us in the BBQ Community we know what to look for. Let me start with the awesome fact that this place has burnt ends! Typically the pit master secret and not really for public consumption because they're SO GOOD! This place didn't disappoint with their burnt ends. The flavor and smoke profile was spot on. Some of the pieces were a little too charred for my liking and the burnt end kinda fell apart which is a personal preference. The flavor though was great. The smoked sausage was AWESOME! Great balance of spice, smoke, n pork flavor. Wish there could've been more! Sides...baked beans were great. Had some of the pulled pork in it so that added a great depth of additional flavor. Smoked Mac n cheese was smoked but not cheesy enough in my opinion. Overall, delicious food for the non BBQ judge person and great atmosphere. Great people as well. read more

The wife and I came on a whim based on Yelp reviews. The reviews were spot on! We had the brisket and it was very, very good. Well worth the trip.
