They have a good selection on a front and back laminated menu with various dishes from pizza to ribs, chicken and pork dishes. There are also vegan options such as Mac and cheese. For a barbecue place their prices are very reasonable with a daily special I noticed posted in the wall going into the bar part. My granddaughter used some app they are tied into where you can buy songs to play, that seemed popular with everyone. Our table was clean although I do t like being seated by the kitchen entrance when there were plenty of tables elsewhere to be seated. That's why the 4 star, I don't like the in and out of the staff and congregated talking by everyone by our table. I was concerned seeing an employee scratching at his nose in the hallway coming from the bar to the kitchen not stopping to wash his hands, maybe he did in the kitchen part. Finally! I have been so disappointed with the quality of barbecue in the Fort Wayne area ever since I moved here. Today's experience was outstanding! Rib tips were the best in town: tender, juicy, falling off the bone, with a very tasty sauce. Tons of homemade french fries piping hot, which is almost unheard of in this area, coupled with very friendly service and a great local establishment type vibe. Though I wasn't very hungry, I found myself really enjoying the BBQ. It had a good texture and reminded me of BBQ back home in North Carolina. If you know anything about NC, we're very proud of our BBQ, so this is truly a compliment for Ziffle's! I also enjoyed the cheesy garlic bread. I'm not always a fan of melted cheese, but the bread hit the spot for me. They say they are best ribs on the East side. So we stopped and brought a half slab home. It was tender but still had a bite as it pulled off the bone. The ribs were big and meaty! The bark was crispy with a good smoke ring. I particularly liked the sauce that was sweet with a bit of a tang to it! The building where Ziffle's is located is in a strip mall near Krogers but clean and well kept. Grandma and grandson worked the takeout window and were cheerful and helpful. We walked into Ziffle's and was greeted very professionally by the hostess who promptly seated us in the dining room. It was a pretty busy Friday night but I found out pretty quickly how they were turning tables so quickly. The hostesses were also the 'bussers' and were always walking around taking plates as customers finished up. I believe they were hand-cut so make sure you save room for them! My wife got the Cod basket and our other young man with us got sausage pizza. They both weren't overly impressed with theirs as the pizza was pretty overcooked but I reminded them that we were at a Rib place, not a fish or pizza place. With that being said, they could definitely use some help with the pizza. I love the ambiance of this place as it reminds me of a small-town bar more prevalent back in the day. Ziffles recently increased prices all over the menu. I'm OK with this. I was paying petty cash for food that is much greater in portion and taste than the price point. This price increase is long overdue. It was like getting in on Bitcoin when it was chump change. My distraction from a five star review is really just the order screwups. Typically, on my own, I'll order a single item. My wife tends to order a drink, maybe a side fry, maybe a salad, etc. I think the multiple items have mixed things up too much. I ordered medium sauce, but next time I'll get the hot variety. Would have preferred a bit more zest. The chicken was juicy. You have the option of ordering breast or leg, which I thought was great. Am I being picky by criticizing the fries? I rarely eat fries, and I was looking forward to them as much as the chicken and ribs. IMO, they were overcooked, and most of them were about a half inch long. I didn't like them at all. Maybe the fry cook wasn't keeping an eye on them. Wouldn't keep me from returning, though.
