Been meaning/wanting to try for a while, but have never got around to it. Ok experience, but there's some areas of attention needed. Pros: Friendly/quick service, outstanding brisket, excellent bbq sauces (I particularly liked the vinegar and spicy sauces), and large portions. Cons: Over-priced, average at best sides, extremely smoky in dining room, and dirty/run down restaurant. Overall our experience was good, but the smoke in the dining room was a real problem that actually had my eyes burning/watering while we were eating (it literally looked like an AARP Club Catholic Church bingo event, it was that smoky inside the restaurant), the food is stupid expensive ($35 lunch, one person), and the sides just weren't good (bland coleslaw and broccoli salad). The restaurant also needs a facelift and desperate deep clean... It had that dirty, grimy, sticky feel on the floors and tables (presumably from all the smoke in the dining room). I still consider Shigs n' Pit to be the far and wide the best BBQ in town, but Lucille's has the potential to be really good if they can make some adjustments, improvements, and clean the place up.

The last time we did...ACME had partnered with Legalize Marinara to make pizzas for them. The menu looks like LM's recipes (see picture of menu). The pizza had a familiar taste. Though, the pizza I had was a bit different. Before I get to the pizza...let me say that Joslin did an incredible job serving us. She had great suggestions. She hustled the refills. She was personable and funny. Great representative for ACME!! Also...I had to try the smoked Cole slaw - it intrigued me! The fresh cabbage pieces were large and purple. They tended to be a bit tougher. The mayo sauce had a nice seasoning - possible dry rub. This created some kick and saltiness. The smoke flavor was evident but not overwhelming. Nice dish! We ordered a 16" ACME Deluxe thin crust pizza cut into large square pieces. I didn't know that you could get a thin crust and square pieces - so we tried it. Last time we got a hand tossed - different taste. The pizza crust was fairly thin and a bit crisp - but not crunchy. While the picture might suggest that it was slightly over cooked...it was actually okay. The crust was a fairly plain flour crust - no extra taste. The pizza sauce is really tasty. I liked the thicker consistency and bolder tomato flavor. No spicy after taste. Good Italian seasoning. The sauce did a nice job accenting the toppings. There were plenty of fresh toppings covered with a thinner bed of mozzarella. The meat taste wasn't very prevalent - maybe could have used more meat. Everything seemed to blend well. You do pick up a heavier salt taste. Cold Pizza Test - ACME's pizza was pretty good the next day. The crispier crust stayed crispy without being tough/chewy. The pizza sauce stepped forward - the tomato taste really started to come out. The toppings still blended well. The salty taste seemed to get stronger.

It was the least expensive appetizer option at $12...and the "jumbo" sounded attractive. So why not? The rings are "jumbo"-lly bigger than most others offer. The ring is made from a large onion. The onion piece was rather thin. I was expecting a "thicker" piece - perhaps two layers thick given the size of the ring. The onion was sweeter and mild. The batter was very thin, flakey and a touch oily. It has a nice seasoning to go along with the chipotle sauce. Definitely worth a try if you like onion rings. The crust is a hand tossed style and baked to a soft crispy crust. It has a slightly sweet flavor with a mild flour taste. The sauce was not very prominent to the flavor - mild tomato sauce taste. The sauce was hidden by the pile of fresh toppings. There was a nice amount of delicious mozzarella cheese to hold the toppings together and give it a moist pizza flavor. Cold Pizza Test - the pizza was still soft and moist 24 hours later. It seems like the ingredients "marinated" and enhance the Italian flavors. The mozzarella cheese flavors tended to "pop" more. Delicious cold pizza! Overall a pizza. Dinning in is a nice experience. Beautiful facility. Casual and relaxed...though it's pretty loud. Professional and friendly service.

You can find 800 Degrees in the east end of the strip mall behind the Starbucks/across Lima from Walmart. It's a large and open restaurant with a small bar area. There is a smaller patio for your outside dining option. They have a similar menu and pricing compared to other places like them. We find their salads to be very tasty and consistent. The team here is always friendly and hustled to serve you. The free warm/soft chocolate chip cookies found at the bar are a nice parting gift. In this occasion we ordered a 12 inch Supremo pizza for $17.85. The flour tasting crust is soft on the inside with crispy wood fired texture on the edges. The bottom is firmer without being crunchy. The toppings are fresh. The mushrooms, green peppers and onions have a slight crunch. The pepperoni and sausage have nice meat flavors and a hit of spiciness. Not much cheese. The tomato sauce definitely has a bolder tomato taste. Though the sauce is not applied very thick or plentiful. Cold Pizza Test - the crust got a little more firm and chewy, but not overbearingly. The meats began to step forward with time to marinate - very nice. The vegetables lost some of their crisp and weren't as tasty. Overall not bad.

Fast forward to today and the house hottie wanted to do the humble thing and give them another go (Against my better judgement, but I digress... Happy wife, happy life). I've inexplicably gotten a gluten sensitivity about a year ago (which sucks), so we ordered two GF pizzas. The pizzas are literally half the size of their standard Neopolitan pizzas along with a $4.00 up-charge for GF, totaling $51 for carry-out (just two tiny skimpily topped pizzas, nothing else)... This is a joke right? While the pizzas were good (not as good as their Neopolitan), $51 is laughable and frankly insulting. Wow, this is some "bold" customer price gouging and should piss-off anyone that orders their GF pizza... Albeit I wouldn't expect anything less coming from the guy that treats his customers like ill repute. Needless to say, we are officially done with 800 Degrees... From bad customer treatment to getting bent by over like a cheap Vegas hooker via price gouging, 800 Degrees and its pompous owner can get bent. This is such a travesty because 800 Degrees is an outstanding pizzeria, but there are other solid pizzerias in Fort Wayne that deserve our business because they don't do either of the above. The interior was well appointed and we were seated in the bar area but because we arrived before the rush, it was quiet and cool even though the weather outside was sweltering. My wife ordered theTin Cup burger with fries and baked beans. She loved her huge meal but couldn't finish it. I dug into the prime rib sandwich with coleslaw. The meat was perfectly cooked and the Au Jus soaked the bread and I loved the presentation. The prime rib was a solid medium rare and the coleslaw was perfect. We will return soon,

On this occasion we picked Salvatori's on Washington Center Road. We've always had an easy time getting a table here as the restaurant is fairly large. The staff is very friendly and helps each other out. Wyatt did a great job on this occasion. The restaurant was clean and orderly. My wife really liked the chef salad. Very fresh with lots of meats and side veggies. A very attractive dish also. The house dressing is light, slightly sweet and has a nice oil based taste. Side house salads are very tasty and fresh as well. Lots of side veggies and cheese packed into this over flowing bowl. The Frutti di Mare is a weekly special only. The linguini was perfectly cooked and plentiful. The red sauce had a nice tomato with Italian seasoning/oil taste. Often this sauce can be very spicy. This dish was not spicy nor did it sacrifice flavor. There were lots of mussels - which don't have much meat. There really wasn't much shrimp or calamari included. The fish was tender and flakey.

They are large and meaty. Redwood dips the wings in a batter and then fries them. The batter is slightly thick and crispy - nice touch! The wing is perfectly cooked with no pink insides, tender and moist. I chose the teriyaki and garlic Parmesan sauces in the two different baskets I ordered (I thought 8 wings wouldn't be enough). The teriyaki sauce was moderately thin in consistency. It had a mild teriyaki flavor. Slightly sweet with no spicy aftertaste. The garlic Parmesan sauce was thicker in consistency. It has a nice bold garlic flavor. The Parmesan cheese tended to clump. Each clump brought a bolder pop of cheese flavor. The ranch dip was thin and had a mild ranch flavor. The fries were good - a bit softer and flexible with slight amounts of salty seasoning. I really wasn't interested in fries...but the basket was the only choice. We also tried the onion rings and fried pickles. The onion rings were outstanding. A thicker piece of onion inside a thicker breading. The batter was soft with a slight crisp. Only slightly oily. I was surprised how few rings came in the basket for the price. The fried pickles were good. A dill pickle chip with a very mild dill taste. The breading is thin, crisp and stuck to the chip nicely. Overall, I really liked the wings - though they are pricey. The breaded wing was really good! I wasn't fond of having to buy a basket. I didn't like having to buying another basket to more than 8 wings. I'm sure other wing lovers would like a few more choices than seven flavors. I'm on the hunt for the best sausage roll in the city and I've yet to find the one. The service here was courteous. I placed my phone order and was given a 25 minute time frame. Within that 25 minutes my order was ready. The establishment was lively, full of patrons inside and on the patio area. It appeared to me most of the customers were familiar with the bar/restaurant and they frequent it. There seemed to be a familiarity among many. As for my sausage roll it was good. Pro: great crust - brushed with garlic butter, good sausage- it was not mushy at all. Cons: the sauce was very much a tomato sauce . I like mine with a hint of sweet to cut the acidity. I wouldn't necessarily stop in again, as the sauce is not to my liking, but the roll wasn't bad.
