Pizza King as been around for as long as I can remember. And although I've had carry-out many times, I've never eaten inside until now. The atmosphere is different than anywhere else you're going to eat. I mean, porch swings as seats?! That was a fun detail! The stained glass everywhere is beautiful. The place does look like it needs a good deep cleaning though. Why does pizza cut into squares just taste better? No one knows, but it does. I would definitely recommend this pizza place for everyone specially for young children and families. There's a unique feature about this pizza place in which there are swings instead of booths for certain tables so it can be super enjoyable for young children or even those adults who want a unique eating experience. The pizza is quite unique for the area it's in. It has the classic square cut style of pizza and the traditional cut which are both very good. Even if you're not a huge fan of the style of pizza that they offer I would highly recommend still going just for the experience. It is definitely a must go if you're traveling through town. The service is phenomenal and very personable. I've never had a bad experience. It really does feel very warm and comforting. I'm kind of torn on this one. Clara's Pizza King in Fort Wayne used to be our go-to, favorite pizza place. It had been for many years - even decades, before we moved away. We haven't been back here in probably 7 years or more. During those 7 years, we started to broaden our pizza experiences by trying lots of other gourmet pizzas and "micro pizzerias" all over the midwest and throughout the U.S. Now, after having sampled some of the awesome pizzas available, this experience at Pizza King wasn't as great as I remembered it being all those years ago. Closely following the crust would be the odd pepperoni. I always choose the Royal Feast, san onion, when you advance in age you'll get why NO onion. Next is the finely chopped mushroom, I never see them, they're that fine and the sausage. Yesterday, (June 5, 2019) I ordered two 16 inch pizzas with pepperoni and extra cheese from Pizza King #69 on 321 W State in Fort Wayne, IN. When I arrived to pick them up, I was thoroughly shocked to be charged $23.39 plus tax per pizza for a total of $59.80! I have had actual gourmet pizza at restaurants with multiple toppings for far less than that charge. To make the matter much worse, the pizzas were terrible. The crusts were soggy, there was only a minuscule amount of sauce, and even a more almost imperceptible amount of pepperoni! I have tried to contact the so-called corporate manager multiple times to no avail. This is a disgrace! I have never been more appalled by any kind of meal I have ever purchased. read more

I gotta say Clara's Pizza King is a staple for me every time I come back to visit family. This pizza is always cooked to perfection and I can taste it even when I'm 2200 miles away!! The Royal Feast is so amazing I think books have been written about it! Finely ground up sausage, pepperoni, mushrooms, peppers, onions....and the sauce!! ....amazing! We also love the bread sticks with cheese. Their bread sticks are chewy but pop with a garlic buttery flavor when you bite into them. Delicious! I love that the pizza is cut into little squares, that way you can have delicious gooey inner pieces or go for the crust edge pieces. Carry out, delivery or eat in....just do it!! I'd give it three stars. We got the Royal Feast, but all I could taste on it was the sausage. Adding the parmesean cheese really helped it out for me. The dining room is just too cool: there is an enormous stained glass window, some swinging porch bench type seating and you order your food through a telephone at your table that calls into the kitchen.
