My friends and I were having some cold beers after work at the Smokey Bones bar where we had been going for years. The manager walked by and asked us to not talk about politics as he disapproved. What exactly is this? I don't know. I do not think that this looks like pulled pork. I definitely do not think this looks like the pulled pork pictured on the menu (especially the dried clump on the left). My girlfriend asked me if I thought it looked alright... after attempting to pull the "pulled pork" apart I told her that it indeed looked a little funky. Food is good, but bewildered by our waitress who charged us for a soda when the meal special came with a beer or soda. When we questioned the bill she said gingerale wasn't included. Really?? Typically come here Monday nights for wing night, it starts at 9pm which is a little late but whatever, it's for foot all anyway! Me and a friend sit at the bar and watch the games and have some wings. The smoked wings are by far the best wings they have. There wings are actually huge too, definitely get your money's worth. Yummmmmmmmmmmmy! Let me just start there! It had been years since the last time I had been to Smokey Bones and I don't know if it was this location in particular or just all Smokey Bones but I thoroughly enjoyed my meal! Actually all in my group of 4 enjoyed it! There was not wait to get a seat (we arrive around 10/1030) but the wait for the food was a little long in my opinion. The food was all very hot and fresh. The sweet potato fries were crispy and delicious (I recommend as a side). They have three different levels of sides. If you don't want the basic ones you can upgrade to more expensive sides. They also offer different specials during the week on drinks and food and happy hour specials. We were there on the weekend so we could not take advantage of the good specials but we plan to go back when we can. The one major issue I had, which was not food related, was the volume of the music, it was VERY loud and for that reason I cannot give 5 stars. When we walked in and were being taken to our seats I asked for an area where it was not so loud but they were not able to accommodate that. Maybe they only sit in the bar area due to the hour but that was unfortunate. All in all great food but be mindful of the noise. read more

Come to Smokey Bones quite often and never disappointed. Everything falls off the bone. The pulled pork nacho appetizer is a meal in itself. Fried pickles, great. Ambiance is casual as well as attire. Nothing fancy here. I am really a fan of the combination platters so I can sample. A large selection of great side dishes. Chicken and ribs come with a variety of different sauces/ recipes to choose from and there is always leftovers for the next day. The Cuban is my favorite and delicious. The only problem is beware if your looking for light fare...no way, not here...everything is 1,500 calories +. Ample amount of beer and mixed drinks to choose from. I would gladly give a five star rating but the volume of times we have frequented Smokey Bones the wait staff has not been at the top of their game which really detracts from the overall dining experience. read more

Two for one Mondays. I discovered the Monday's deal two weeks ago and went back after a good experience the first time around. Second time wasn't a charm. I ordered the 8 Jumbo Smoked Wings and received 16 paltry dessicated wings. These wings could have come from a flock of chickens interred with King Tuts for a snack on the trip to the nether world. Went here to have a some good food with the guys, instead we ended up leaving to go get Chinese food. We pretty much didn't see our waitress after we ordered the appetizer and the first round of drinks, so we didn't even get the chance to order anything else. Based on the appetizer she probably did us a favor. We asked for the loaded nachos no sour cream, and i guess that means extra sour cream here. There was more sour cream than cheese on those nachos... To make them even better they added some bones to our nachos, that was a great surprise to my friend and I who were both lucky enough to find them. At this point, we were seated for an hour and a half and we had 1 round of drinks and a bad app to show for it. We were fed up with the lack of service and asked for the check and to speak with the supervisor. When he came over, he just had the look that screamed "i really don't want to be here". I told him about the service, how they messed up the order, and about the bones. He didn't try to make anything right, just passed it off like this was a regular occurrence... bad service, bad food, bad management, but at least the mojito was good, so i guess they get a star for that. read more

So for a first time visit to this establishment, I would have to say that it was actually a decent overall experience. Upon our initial entrance we were greeted and shown to a seat rather quickly. We noticed that the restaurant was slightly empty, probably because we stopped in around 7pm on a Friday which was rather surprising since we would have thought it to be more packed in. Besides that small thing, our table was clean, and we were greeted by our waitress in an orderly fashion. She took our drink order; my wife kept it simple with just water with lemon and I decided to sample the beverage from the bar. They did offer an extensive selection on their beer menu, which was conveniently broken down by style (IPA, lager, ale, Mexican, domestic, European). I decided to go with an IPA, in which they offered about 6 or 7 different options for this. I was familiar with about all of them with the exception of one on the list. I wound up choosing the "boom sauce". When I inquired with our waitress about how it compared to other IPA's; she graciously explained that she wasn't a beer drinker personally. But she did say that it was a popular choice and did take the time to mention that it was only available in o e size because of its alcohol content (8% ABV, which is on the higher end, compared to most others). We chose to go with a choice of the platter options they had on their menu for "pick 2 option", which comes with 2 sides and garlic bread. I chose the brisket and smoked sausage links, my wife chose the brisket and the sliced smoked chicken. We both agreed that the brisket was delicious! (Which is only available after 4pm though). The only thing that we could agree upon would be that the sliced chicken has a very strong flavored rub and my wife felt that it was a little too salty. The atmosphere of the restaurant reminded me of an old school style smokehouse that was converted into a restaurant. The dining room was very clean, no dirty floors or tables. The parking lot out front was very small, but they do have extended parking in the rear of the building. Only downside is that they have no covering from the parking lot to the entrance. I would more than likely return to this location for a second visit. Overall a decent experience, food was good, drinks were good, and the wait staff was friendly and efficient! read more

I get it, we're in a pandemic and you guys are struggling to get through.. but that should be no reason for your lack of customer service and food quality. If anything, you should be doing your best to get people to come back! This is the second time I have placed an order online to be told by some 17 year old old who hasn't a clue what she's doing that my order never came through. And it's not just me, anyone who orders Curbside or Togo online has this issue. FIX IT! Besides that, the kitchen is full of kids just joking around and messing up orders. Then the boneless wings.. 100% coming out of a bag bought at BJs or Sams Club and covered in a sauce or seasoning. There's no effort here anymore. Lots of quality places had to close down during this pandemic.. I'd trade any one of them for Smoke Bones. Piss Poor. I gave you two stars for the way you guys USED to be. My father and I stopped in for lunch as we have not been here in a few years. I would have to say that after reading Willie W.'s review I would totally agree on how the place has gone down hill. The first thing I noticed walking in is the remodeling that has been done. I think they actually did a pretty good job with this as it now much more open. The menu has moved towards the standard commercialized menu and it seems like they have added many non-barbecque options. My father went with a BYOB (build your own burger) and I decided on a combination platter. I chose the pulled pork, sliced brisket, and smoked turkey breast. For sides I went with mashed potatoes and stemmed broccoli. Our meals arrived in a reasonable time (we were some of the first people their for lunch). My father said his burger was OK, but nothing special. My meal on the other hand was sub-par. The broccoli was very mushy to begin with. The brisket and smoked turkey were very dry and it seemed like the turkey was processed, similar to deli meat. The pulled pork was OK but lacked flavor. I think the mashed potatoes were the best part of the meal, sadly. I tried 3 of the 4 sauces and I was not really impressed by any of them. If you are looking for BBQ I would highly recommend trying somewhere else like Capital Q or The Pig Pit. read more

I haven't visited this restaurant in many years. My family and I went on a Sunday evening. We were shocked to learn no wait for a table, the restaurant was nearly empty. The hostess was extremely rude and gruff. When i complained the manager came out and listened. He then patted me on my shoulder, how condescending. We ordered pretzel bones as an appetizer. It took over 25 minutes for them to come out..they were below average. Our meals came out about and hour after ordered. The street tacos, horrible. Chicken wings, my daughter was satisfied. Thankful we didn't have our children with us - the lyrics were often vulgar. Servers singing very loudly to the rap songs. The cleanliness was horrible. Ten or more ceiling tiles missing. Stuff hanging from the ceiling over several tables and food stations. Food was ok. More likely to go to another BBQ place next time. Cooks in the back were constantly pulling off their masks.
