The craziness of…read morethe new rage, from an oldie but goodie, and the committment from the owner to make his/her greateness available at reasonable price and in cool digs. Now, I wouldn't call the New York State Capital lawn cool digs, but seeing as it just a few blocks away and plenty of green grass, park benches, picnic tables, and other seating, how can one resist coming out here for a stroll and a great bite to eat? Not to mention, it is the only place in Albany where you can find 4-5 food trucks to choose from, which makes me feel sad, as that number is low compared to other progressive cities like, San Diego, San Francisco, Austin, Dallas, New York. It also upsets some people that the capitol gets special treatment for placement of food trucks, but let's save that for another day. Michele's looked good. I was simply craving a burger and fries. However, I've learned from my food trucking, that fries can be somewhat of a challenge. Either soggy, dried, or just not right. I hate suffering through that, so instead, I ordered the tots they have. Being a chemist by nature, I don't know what it is with tots, but you can hardly mess them up. They always come out crispy on outside and nice and hot inside. Michele's did not disappoint. I ordered my 0.3lb burger with cheese, lettuce, tomato, and onion. The film broke loose and this movie came to a screeching halt when I heard, "We are out of onions." "Ahhhhgg," I thought, as in my opinion a burger just isn't a burger without onions. Before I could complete my sigh of disbelief, the server said, "We can put some fried onions on it, if you want. Will take a little longer." I was ecstatic. Not because I got my onions, albeit in a different form, but the food truck guy did not have to offer this, but he did. Why? I don't know, ask him, but I can guess it is because they have that food truck service mentality of "Let's take care of our special customers." It did take a little longer but was worth it. The cook handed me a freshly cooked cheeseburger with fried onions and tater tots. He even warned me that the tots were piping hot just out of the fryer. Really nice touch. I will definitely be back and try their other menu items which look really good including the clam, even though I am not a big clam fan.

The bacon was perfectly crispy and greasy, exactly how bacon should be' The Philly cheesesteak fries were delicious, though they were a bit heavy for my personal taste. While the service was on the slower side, I really appreciated that the food arrived piping hot.

My daughter, two teen grandchildren, and I placed a takeout order for us and my husband. Fast service! Ordered -- Five "All the Way" Hot Dogs - Meat sauce was classic old school diner sauce done to perfection; after all, they have been open in this location since 1947. Raw onions were sweet and complemented the sauce and spicy mustard very well. I do not eat regular dogs often because I avoid nitrates, but when I do I like them with meat sauce. These hot dogs were worth the indulgence. Highly recommend. Onion Rings were very crispy and not greasy. Cheeseburger was very good. French Fries were hand cut but a little soggy since we did not eat on premises. We enjoyed our lunch very much! Pleased to see they use cardboard containers instead of PLASTIC for takeout orders. Low and reasonable prices!

I had a hot dog all the way ( should've added sauerkraut and relish) a clam fry with onion rings, a cheeseburger, foot long and a large fry. DEFINITELY get the fries, they're fresh cut and cooked perfectly. The place is old and dated but the food and the service keep bringing people in. They take credit cards but there's a cash discount. Cant wait to return.

I get it by the pound with the Bama sauce and make my own lettuce wraps. Not a fan of the kimchi slaw. I would like a regular slaw option, but I get it. Friendly people with an excellent attitude for delivering quality food. Delighted to learn this is a locally owned and operated place. Makes it worth the cost of eating out and supporting the community.

We went the first time because it was one of those days, and our non-vegetarian kid was desperate to eat and we were in the neighborhood. So while he chowed down on the pork sandwich platter (which was, he reported, excellent, and I can tell you the aroma made my mouth water), we split one of each non-meat side available. Chips, Potato Salad, Mac and Cheese, the Japanese eggplant, and the Kimchi Coleslaw. (I think we passed on the beans because they had pork in them.) They were FABULOUS! I mean, I've had plenty of BBQ sides in my time, back when we were carnivores, and I've tried them all. I can think of maybe two or three others that were the equals here, but for a limited run of options, it was non-pareil. It kind of makes me wish they'd put their minds to a veggie sandwich, the name of the place notwithstanding. They do the maillard reaction proud. One tiny tip for the owners: "Reuben" is misspelled on your menu.
