Came here again from 2014, and it was more of the same! Came at 1pm on a weekday so it wasn't terribly busy, and they let me know it would be a couple of minutes. Haik always does his best to help customers--A system was down on the other end for a girl in front of me, and Haik had great communication letting her know he was doing what he could, and letting me know he was multitasking with my car. A solid, quick, customer focused place! read more

Super fast and courteous. Answered all my questions and was out in minutes. Very fair price. A friggin' plus. read more

Great service! I've been coming here for the past 6 years and their work has never disappointed me. Haik is very nice and I highly recommend going to him to get your smog check done. I've moved a few times within the past 6 years, and now drive about 30 minutes to him just for a smog check, because I trust the place. I saw a bad review in the comments, read half of it, and I don't understand how that's possible. Car problems are annoying. Taking the time to go get a smog test is also not how we want to spend our day. A failed smog test is even more annoying. But none of these are reasons to be upset with the service or the shop. It's your car that failed the test and not the service. Frustrating yea but don't bash on an honest business owner and their work. Specially when they helped you out a week before telling you not to do the test before taking care of the check engine light. That shows honesty not lies. I've had my older VW GTI fail a test here in the past, and yes it was frustrating but Haik and his father were very kind and told me what I needed to do before coming back for another test. I will continue bringing my cars here for smog tests and I highly recommend everyone reading this to do the same. read more

Came to Smog Zone to get my car's smog check. I didn't need an appointment and got quick service. The smog check was done within 15 minutes and it was connected to the DMV, so everything was taken care of. Thank you for your help! read more

I came in and they were able to help me right away, and at a reasonable price! If you want to avoid a wait, I recommend coming on a weekday.

I've been coming here for around a decade. I used to go to the old location. Service and quality is excellent. I highly recommend Smog Zone!

Quick and easy! This an easy location to get in and out of which is key for me. Very nice service and I appreciated the $15 coupon for checking in! read more

A+ ...will only use smogzone Van Nuys from now on. Rolled up to enquire on an appointment (I live around the block) was done before I finnished my phone call outside - Got a price inclusive of an online coupon without even asking. Guy in front of me did not pass inspection, and the tech wanted to help...'Test only' shops maintain their integrity by testing only and not performing repairs, he went out of his way to explain and try to make sure that the client didn't get taken for a ride from some shade-tree mechanic. read more

This place was awesome! Haik was super helpful, respectful, courteous and friendly. I came in last minute and Haik always kept me updated on the timing so I wasn't just sitting around wondering what was happening. He was very professional, honest and was really hustling so customers would have a short wait. He sent the smog certificate to the DMV digitally but also made me 2 copies, one for my records and one to include with DMV registration letter. I'm so glad I found this place, I wish mechanics were as honest and pleasant as this place. I'll definitely be back next year at his new location across the street with wifi and A/C. read more

Good service, good price, fast and easy. I came in on a Saturday and didn't even have to wait for more then 5 minutes to get started. It doesn't get much easier then this. read more

This has been by far the best Smog shop I been to. I showed up on a Saturday morning without calling just got off work and drove it there. I had completely forgotten that my registration required a smog check and it was due the next day. Thankfully once I arrived there was only once person almost done with there smog check. It literally took less then 20 minutes for everything from the time I arrived until I was heading back out with my smog check done. I will definitely come back soon. read more

Haik was attentive, quick and nice. It's a small little spot; when you pull in the shop is located on the right side, not straight ahead. Made the mistake of pulling up to another car shop but they understood and led me to Smog Zone very politely ;) read more

Best smog experience ever! Haik got me in & out of there in no time. He was very friendly & even took the time to warm up my car before running the test. Everything on the car passed, except the gas cap. Haik, being the professional that he is had one in his facility & with the new cap my car passed the test. Would recommend Smog Zone to anyone. Very pleased. Keep up the great work Haik! read more

Can it be true? All these 5 stars? No way right? Oh it's true. It's damn true. They know their stuff, they anticipate your needs, answer your questions, it's so painless. My car didn't pass but they were able to tell me what the problem was, how to solve it, and told me about a shop nearby that had the equipment to find the problem (All Automotive which did a great job as well in finding and fixing the problem). I go the next day to the shop to fix the problem and the person from Smog Zone comes and helps out to find the problem. That's how great these guys are! Fixed the problem, came back, did the test, passed. Why can't all businesses be like this one? read more

Smog Zone - Total I paid for checking in on yelp - Smog Check Stations Near Me - Van Nuys, California

They smog Hybrid cars! I'm glad I found this place. Haik provided excellent service for my Toyota Prius when I brought it in last week. I needed a smog check on my hyrid because it has been two years and the registration was due- last minute went in and got the Prius smogged by an excellent and nice smog technician. Best thing was it was quick, cheap and I didn't need a appointment just drove in. Haik finally gave me the break down of what my Pruis did well in and how everything was in the test. Now my smog check is done time to renew my tags on the Prius! read more

No lies... these guys are primo. Just got my smog check this morning with no problems, guarantee I will go to them next year. When you care about customer service, this is it. My only wish is that they could expand to a slightly bigger space to accomodate 2 or 3 cars at once, but since I was second in line, I waited barely 10 minutes. It's funny, normally when you read a bunch of consistent good reviews, you'd think a lot of them are fakes, but sicne these guys are around the corner from me, I thought I'd give them a gander... Sure glad I did!!! read more

I've been going to this place since it opened, I moved to Encino, but I still go over to them for my smog, awesome service, clean shop!

Wow. Talk about a great shop and a great experience. So because I was selling my car I needed to have it smogged. I went to at least 4 different smog shops before finally finding Smog Zone. This place is a diamond in the rough. Every other shop i visited the technicians were rude and the shop was not inviting. Not the case when i arrived at Smog Zone. After speaking with Haik for a few minutes I knew i had found the right place. He was not only professional, but incredibly friendly. After getting the run around at all the other smog places, it was a welcome relief to find an honest and friendly shop. There was no BS, just the facts on how much it would cost, how long it would take, etc etc. So Haik hooked up my car to the machine and about 20 minutes later i was done. In and out. It was very nice to know that a shop appreciates your business and treats the customer with respect. BOTTOM LINE: come to Smog Zone next time you get that dreaded smog check notice in the mail. You will not regret it. THANKS HAIK AND SMOG ZONE!!!! read more

Got here at 11.30am on a Tuesday. No wait. Super fast. Haik is clearly a master at what he does. Hey, you gotta get it done when the notice comes so might as well get it done quick and cheap right?? read more
