I had a really good experience at Smog Stop! The service was quick and efficient, and the total cost was $50. They also handled sending my smog check results to the DMV, which made the process super easy. Everyone was friendly and professional. Would definitely recommend! read more

Smog Stop - you might find cheaper but you won't find better or faster or nicer. It's located in the car wash on Woodman south of Riverside. I just pulled in, it took about ten minutes, done and out. I've been to others over the years, and it's always thirty minutes or an hour and you just sit there like a lummox until they're done. So, if you need your smog certificate, this is the place to go - you just drive in and it's on the right. read more

Convenient location (right off the 101 and Woodman) and quick service. It was $75 for the smog check and they are a Star Choice needed for DMV registration. The owner was polite, friendly and helpful. With a oil change and carwash service located in the same facility, this is a one stop shop! read more

Art is a solid guy. Very friendly. This place is great and extremely efficient. I brought my 2015 Audi in and he was able to take me within 2 minutes. No reservation required. Cost 60 bucks, he was fast and efficient, and I was on my way and back to work. It's located in the Fashion Square car wash where you can get oil changes as well. Really nice and efficient set of services in one place. And the big kicker is it's right off the 101 freeway so it's extremely convenient. read more

Smog Stop - Extremely fast and efficient smog check for $60. - Smog Check Stations Near Me - Sherman Oaks, California

The person who did the test was very pleasant and I was in and out in about 15 minutes. I will go back next time I need a smog check.

Great service, fast, and helpful. The pricing seems reasonable (although to be fair I don't know what other prices are out there). This is in the same "compound" as the car wash, but when you pull in don't go to the carwash, go to the right (the north) there is a separate building and you can just pull right up. I came here, filled out a form, and 15 minutes later I was on my way. It was $65 for the smog check for my mini van. If you're in the area I would recommend coming to this place. read more

I pulled in around lunchtime on a Wednesday. The smog check bay was open. Raffi (sp) saw me eyeing it and asked if I was there for a smog check. I said yes and he guided my car into the spot where it could be hooked up. I stayed in the vehicle the whole time! He asked for my form and gave me some paperwork to complete. He hooked up the car and ran the test. Once done, he printed off my results, charged my card, and I was on my way. Quick and convenient! Thanks Smog Stop! read more

This is the only smog place I'll be going to from now. Great prices and when I was in a pinch and forgot my forms, the owner was kind enough to text a photo over to me. Great customer service, way quicker turnaround than competitors in the area and an all in all great experience that has been frustrating from other shops in the past. Much appreciated!! read more

Today I went in for my smog check that was necessary for me to re-register my car. I chose to go back to smog stop because about a month prior I was at the car wash with shares the driveway off of Woodman, and my light indicator went on that my tires were low on air. When I asked if they could help me and check to see that my tires have the right pressure in them. I offered to pay for their time and the owner of the shop (Art) said no problem just pull up and we can help you. He helped fill my tires, everything checked out and he said he did not need to be paid for that service. So fast forward to today...I went in for my smog check and he was as helpful and professional as before. He noticed my license plate # on the DMV paperwork didn't match my VIN # on my car and he asked me why there was a discrepancy. I didn't really know in that moment, but he asked if we should check in the trunk and see if there were any license plates that have been issued in the past or since I purchased the car. There was an envelope from the DMV with the new plates in my car that I had never put on. He offered to physically switch the plates for me - which he did, and completed my car's smog check as needed. He is solution minded and happy to help. I would totally recommend Art and his business to anyone who needs help with smog checks or any other services he offers. He was pleasant, professional and happy to go above and beyond. read more

Did a great job, they are very nice and very helpful. Also, it only takes a few minutes. Nice guy owner and nice guy who works with him.

Time is money... Money is time... I was in and out of here in under 10 minutes. I couldn't believe how quickly they work here. Before I could ask, "Can I use your restroom?" They were done-zo's with my smog check. My need for a Smog check was done before I knew it in under 10 minutes for $49. Only if the DMV worked at this pace. Grateful for fast service so I could get done with all the other things that I need taking care of in my day. Fast service = 200 Yelp points (If that existed) read more

Excellent quick stop for a smog test. Competitive simple pricing and fast in and out service. The only place I bring my vehicles

I have been going to Art for my smog checks and Star certified smog checks since before he was at the Fashion Square Car Wash location. His quotes and service are always great, not pricey, and he is straightforward. He always tries to get you in and out of there as quickly as possible, but if there is a wait, then there's a waiting/lounge room (doors open during the pandemic for more fresh air). He was wearing a mask, which I appreciated, and his waiting area also had hand sanitizer. read more

Great experience! I called ahead and the person on the phone advised me that no appointment was needed. I arrived and sure enough, he took me right in. I was in and out under 20 mins, if that. The prices were reasonable as well. The business is next to the car wash so it got pretty busy but otherwise it was a smooth experience. The prices are fair and the owner was lovely. I would definitely refer my friends and family here. read more

"In and out in 10 minutes!" - Not what you want to hear about a bikini wax...but DEFINITELY what you want to hear about a smog check. Arthur and his associates were friendly and efficient and the whole experience could not have been smoother or more pleasant - right down to the card for a free car wash in the adjacent business. Two enthusiastic wipers up! read more

I am very disappointed right now. The dishonesty and lies that were told to my husband is unbelievable. No matter what Smog Stop you go to if the smog doesn't pass, every place says you can fix the problems and come back and they will run the smog again at no charge, well that was not the case. They told my husband to fix the car after the smog failed and that they would run it again at no charge. When he brought it back they ran the smog again and it passed. Then they gave him a bill of $60. My husband was confused and explained that the guy told him it would be covered. The guy (I'm assuming is Arthur) said that that wasn't true. As if my husband would make up that lie! I have been coming here for years and never had a problem but this really disappoints me and you can bet I won't be back. At the end of the day it's not about the money, it's about the principle. Take your car somewhere else unless you're certain your car will pass the smog the first time around. read more

As mentioned, came in with coupon. No line. Quick service. Passed the test on my almost 20 year old car. Came out to $45 with certificate and "transfer" fees. Wish pricing was more transparent. But it was painless and quick. (List price on board was $49.99; not sure if that included the certificate and transfer fee either.) read more

They are advertising $29 on the web. When I got there, the owner, Art said the price was not for big cars, it was for a Toyota. He wanted $60!!! I've had my car for years and have had it smogged several times and have never been told that it is more work than other cars. Total BS. read more

Horrible service, the smog guy just hangs up on you if you have a question. Plus does not honor any online coupons. Have a great day.

Yesterday, 12/12/20 @ about 10:30 am, I took my wife's car to Smog Stop (on Woodman Ave next door to the car wash next to the 110. The owner/operator charged me $50 for the smog. I showed him the online coupon with the code for $29.75 that he offered thru SmogTips.com (https://www.smogtips.com/images/$29.75%20Smog%20Stop%20Sherman%20Oaks.gif) for my 2004 Honda CRV redeemable as of yesterday. He said "older cars" costs more and his was a Star certified station. His coupon didn't make that distinction and I argued that his coupon very clearly indicated that older cars were defined as "1995 and older". He said he can't go any lower than $50! Well then why did he offer a coupon and claim to be "the lowest price" in Sherman Oaks?? I asked him for a break down of the charges. He said, $30 for smog, $8 for the smog certificate & $7 for electronic transmission. I told him that totals to $45! He then reluctantly said he'll give me a $5 discount. How's he graciously giving me a $5 "discount" after overcharging me by the same amount?? He was unapologetic, unprofessional, and obviously dishonest. It seems he's very used to deceiving sincere, trustworthy, hardworking customers and getting away with it. Yes, a lot of people are struggling during this Covid-19 panda-mess; but, that shouldn't be grounds to take advantage of customers who are supporting their local businesses. Be informed & Beware!! [There was another smog station in N. Hlywood (within 3 miles) that offered a $19.95+... coupon. I chose to support a local Sherman Oaks business instead and got a "$5 discount"!!] read more

I had the pleasure in being helped by Arthur who went out of his way to help me with my Smog check. I was in and out within 30 minutes and they have a waiting room to relax till the job is done. On top of my oil change I had some new license plate frames I bought elsewhere. He was kind enough to put them on for me for no extra charge. I strongly recommend people to come here when in need of a smog check. read more

Normally you wouldn't feel compelled to write a review for an automobile smog inspection. But this place is the best. And so is the boss, Arthur. The inspection was performed in under 15 minutes as we waited in their swell green room (probably more like 10) and Arthur took care of all the paperwork going to the DMV so we can get our registration renewed. Smog Stop was a total yay. read more

I decided to come get my smog done at the Smog Stop simply because I had driven by it multiple times and it was the first place to come to mind when I got the DMV notice in the mail. I am so glad I did! Arthur is super nice and helpful! My car failed because I had just had an oil change and needed to drive for a few miles before I tested it. It ended up being my fault for driving my car straight from my house (a mile away) and my engine wasn't ready for it! When I finally drove for about 15 minutes before I came in- it passed! If your smog fails- you only have to pay $10 for re-test. Arthur checked my car multiple times to make sure it would pass before running the test- which saved me a lot of time and money! I recently went here for an oil change as well and they are fast and professional! So happy I found this place! read more
