Called over the phone to ask if I can get a smog he said he was not busy so I went in I recently purchase this vehicle and everything passed smog except the visual inspection. He told me I need to get a EO sticker or go back to stock and when I come back it would be 30$ for retest. So I paid my 71$ and went and swapped out the intake for an oem one. I came back and he put the truck on the machine and told me it didn't pass the monitor needs to be ready and that it's 50$ for a retest. I asked what I need to do he said "I don't know just drive it" I'm in a moving pass I don't know how long I'll need to drive it or anything. He does not care he's just worries about charging and moving on the the next person. Worst smog experience I've ever encountered and I've been on the road 15 plus years. read more

I paid for a Smog Check and was promised a free retest incase my car would not pass. Feeling confident with his promise I went ahead and paid for the service. He tested my car and said one of the systems wasn't ready to test, so he said to drive 100 miles then come back for the retest. I did so, when I came back he hooked up the scanner and said it is still not ready to test. He counted that as a retest then said I have to pay the Smog fee again!!! What a waste of money and bad business from this shop! Avoid going here! read more

They just redid my suspension and fixed a bunch of other things on my Mini which is not an easy car to work on. Tony is an unassuming Asian man who runs an efficient, no-fuss (or frills) shop. I took my Corolla in for smog cert and wasn't hassled for anything more. I WILL go back. I also paid $20 less for a smog test--including cert--at Precision than I paid last year at a nearby shop. read more

My mom has been coming to Tony for a couple of years to get both her cars smog tested. Saying that if this place was anything but great she wouldn't have recommended me to come here. I came in for the first time a few days ago and Tony was really friendly and efficient in getting my car tested. The price for the smog test was also great! I just felt compelled to write an update on my previous review. I would greatly recommend you bypass this place as the shop owner is a total crook! I came here a few months ago with a muffler problem. My car was making some noise as if air was leaking from somewhere. I took it in at this shop and the mechanic says it was a crack underneath the catalytic and that it needed some welding. I said okay, how much? And he told me it would be $180! My heart nearly stopped when he told me the price but then he gave me estimates of how much it would cost me elsewhere, and since I was short on time I said fine. It took him hours to do what he said was going to be done. When I arrived, he still had me wait for another 30 minutes. Long story short, the car was not really fixed. After a few weeks the noise had come back and it was actually louder. He only gave me 30 days warranty on the work so my warranty was expired. I took it to another mechanic for another look and he told me that there was no sign of any previous work having been done to the car at all. No welding or anything else. This other mechanic did the welding where it had to be done and my car has worked fine ever since. So please, if you do not want to be lied to, or punked into doing very expensive work to your car that will actually not ever be done avoid this mechanic at all costs. He is a liar, and a thief. read more

I was at this smog facility in Van Nuys, CA few days ago to have my car smog tested. This business is charging too much (about $50) and is very dishonest. The technician did all three tests: Visual, Functional, and Emission. He knew that the FUNCTIONAL Test will FAIL because the ODB system in my car was "not ready" (showed Catalytic and Evap sensors incomplete), but he still went ahead with the emission test. Although the emission test passed, overall the smog test FAILED because the functional test failed, and the technician asked me to pay. I've been to other Smog Test centers and they usually check the ODB system first to make sure it's "Ready" before continuing with the emission test and they will tell you up front to save you money. But Precision Smog Test Only station is taking advantage of consumers knowing that the functional test will FAIL(ODB not ready or the check engine light is ON or there is an error code found) and trying to rip off customers. The technician has an ODB code reader (electronic device) that can check the status of ODB system or any error codes in your car. If he was honest and wanted to help me save money, he should have informed me up front that the ODB system is not ready for the functional test and should advice me to drive more miles to get the ODB system ready and come back in few days for the actual smog test. Because of his greed, he did not. I do NOT recommend this smog station because of the above reasons. With their high price, dishonesty, unprofessional treatment, and unethical and unfair business practices, I hope this business will loose customers and eventually shut down. read more
