Reliable, fast and friendly service. I have come here over the years 10 + times. I've had cars, SUVs , and box trucks smogged here. They have been fast and friendly every time. Prices are typical around $60. Easy access from the street, it can be a little difficult with larger vehicles backing out when done but its definitely doable. they have a small waiting room and there is a sign that says no restrooms available. I would say most times I was in and out with in 15 minutes of arriving, sometimes longer if they are busy. solid place and dependable. read more

Do not pay online 1st. Pay after work is done.booked online appt Jan 3 2025 and even tipped $15.00 when I showed up for appt they said they could not do a smog check on 1997 corolla. They charged my credit card $115.00. Called company for a refund and they said we are working on it.They never did. Had to do a dispute charge on my credit card and compose a letter to to explain details. Cost me $10.95 to fax letters to my credit card co. Finally since Jan 3 2025 they resolved the credit issue. Reply to your reply: Your technician said Saturday, Bring it back in 60 miles after I had my mechanic work on the car. They did oil change and other items and I paid $250+ that day. Went back to get gas and full tank. Went and drove for 60 miles at the 118 freeway back and forth. Came back around 3:20PM after 60 miles and your sensors still said not ready. Then you said come back after 100 miles. I went back sunday around 10AM after getting it above 100 miles since my mechanic saw the car. The technician onsite was nice and said you might need another 50 just to get it to detect the what ever your tool is to check the car. I drove over 50 miles more. Total driving just to get to check the car 187 miles and you still were not able to detect with your sensor. Your insinuation that I'm lying just shows how shady of a business person you are. You could have just said drive it for a week and bring it back next week. But 3 different people from you company gave me 3 different information. That's the most upsetting part. I paid more in gas to drive the car around to get you to check it than to pay for your smog test. I drove 129.9 miles on Saturday and another 183.5 miles on Sunday. Surely this should be enough for you to test now. ------ I was her Saturday early around 10-11AM. On my way, the check engine light turned on in the car. I took it in and the guy that saw it didn't mention anything about it until after the smog and said the smog failed because of the check engine light. The guy on duty then said come back after you fix and drive for at least 60 miles. Got the error with the code fixed. 5 miles away. Went back home and got a full tank of gas. Drive for 70 miles. Went back, owner was there. Then he said their readers could not read it and I need to get it to 100 miles. Went and drive it up to 120 miles that night. Sunday, came in earlier at 10. Guy arrived late. Got the tester and said it still not reading. Then said put in another more miles. Went and drove 60 more miles just to get the sensor to read. Went back in and the guy said he still could not read it. Since full tank of gas, I have put in 186.8 miles already. They keep changing their stance. What a waste of time and gas and money. Not worth going here. If you know that a check Engine light will not let you pass smog, I didnt know that until today, why still do the smog. Why not say fix it first then drive x number of miles and come back... Go somewhere else who are honest. read more

I started going to Smogster almost a decade ago and I continue to go there because their service is generally quick, the techs are experienced and trustworthy & their prices are affordable. I recently had an issue where my 2004 Audi A6 would not pass smog. I had Smogster do a complete evaluation of what was wrong and had them do the work on my car to get it to pass. It was a difficult process because the parts were on back order everywhere and the owner went out of his way to track down the parts I needed in Germany where they had to be custom made for my vehicle. My car was a very difficult fix mechanically and with issues with the onboard computer chips but Smogster was able to get it to pass smog. I was so relieved because I could finally get my DMV tags and be on the road again. They also do general mechanical work on cars and also do full auto details on site. I got a complete detail on my car and they also restored my headlight lenses which were so cloudy from the CA sun. My car looked amazing when I got it back. The paint shines like new! They hours posted as opening at 9am. I called them prior to confirm and was told they would be open late at 10am. I showed up and waited until about 10:15am and called again. Was told the worker was out and would be on their way. Another 15 min later, the worker finally showed up and were obviously pissed (probably because their boss called saying someone was waiting and they weren't there). Worker was rude and aggressive. Horrible experience. Even without the fact that they were late (I understand this can happen), the rudeness was completely out of line. Will never return. read more

This is as good as I've experienced this government sanctioned theft that we're subjected to every two years or so called SMOG (Test Only / Star Station / Whatever Makes them justify taking my money). 1.) They're open on Sundays. 2.) It's the cheapest place in The Valley that I've found. 3.) You save an additional $7 if you mention Yelp. 4.) The employee there in 2/28 at 2:30 pm was absolutely incompetent. He would not smog my car because the engine could not be exposed but the emission sticker was clearly available to view when spoiler lifted. Absolute waste of my time, the 911 cannot expose engine without removing the bumper etc. Not a good experience!! Need to have employees that understand differences in vehicle makes. Needed a smog check on my 11 year old Prius. Tried 2 other smog check places listed on yelp. Both closed. I was laterally driving by Smogster and saw no one waiting to be checked. I drove in and the technician hooked me up right away.Unfortunately, I didn't pass. The technician told me that because I had just been boosted (dead battery), some sort of memory needed to be rewritten (nope, I don't understand it either). But he told me how to remedy it. I had to pay $41 for the failing evaluation. But if I came back within 30 days, they would complete the check for only an additional $13. Basically, about $2 more than if I had passed the first time. I felt that was a fair charge. Went back today. Again no line to get in. They hooked me up right away. Passed!!! The technician was very professional. He wore gloves and a mask. They had hand sanitizer at the window where you check out. I will use them again next year when I need to be tested again. read more

I called to ask for a quote and how long it would take to get a smog test... I was quoted $50 and a 15 min wait so since I live around the corner from this shop and I had a already called 3 other places for a Quote and their price was well above $50 so I decided to roll the dice and come here and boy I'm glad I did, drove my car up to the shop and there was no wait James helped me out right away and he did the test and was out of there in less than 15 minutes ! And not to mention this place has Apple Pay! Thank god it's 2022 so they're def up to date on payments, they take all sorts of payments including Venmo so if you're like me and you don't carry cash this is the place for you !
