$200 dollars for a smog check. Regularly smog checks go for $75, with only 1 month of re-test. Simply smog is supposed to be expensive at $150 per smog check but with 3 months of re-test. Ridiculous pricing. read more

Mid Valley SMOG was recommended to me as I had not needed a SMOG in at least 20 years after having leased for so many years. I was expecting to have to wait but no- I was greeted by such a friendly technician who offered me a bottle of water while I waited and it took 5 minutes! They took AMEX and he said the paperwork was automatically filed to the DMV. This place is wonderful and I would recommend to anyone! read more

The owner older middle easter guy is total fraud, his younger asina employee told me that since I had repairs done on my car my car is not ready for test , I have to drive it 100 miles and come back, but the owner wanted to charge me $70 when I refused he got really mad and said he is going to put in the dmv computers that my failed when they did not even do the smog test. when I went to do my smog check another place for $49 he told me that Mid Valley Smog owner failed my car when he never even did the smog, avoid going here , the owner is fraud. read more

Went here to get my car smoged, and will never return. Reasons why: 1) customer service = terrible 2) customer service = terrible 3) did not run a fan in front of the car, which another customer explained to me is very important and plays a major role in whether or not your car passes smog. Later, after doing a bit of research, I found that some places choose not to run a fan so that cars will fail. I hate to accuse them, but there was NO fan. My advice: there are many smog check stations within 1 mile if this place, go to to them. read more

Looked on there website & Yelp. Couldn't find there hrs. I'm rating it one star only for the reason they don't have hrs listed on there website & I called there number after hours & no answer or message with info on it. They do a good job but hrs should be posted. I'm changing it to a 5 star because they do excellent work. This is for the person who wrote the review about them not using a fan so your car won't pass. If your car needs a fan then it was going to fail with or without a fan. We have been to many smog places before we came to this place & they never used fans & our cars all passed. Angel has always been professional with us & everyone we referred to him. Maybe he was having a bad day when you went in. At first I wasnt so sure about all the bible stuff all over the waiting area, but I figure if they practice the commandment "Thou shalt never rip off your customer" They even give a discount for return customers, so I give a thumbs up to these guys! read more

Took my 2006 Chevrolet Cobalt SS SPC in to have it Smog Checked earlier today. Angel was very polite and cordial. He asked how I had heard of his place and made a note of what I told him (shows he's mindful of the value he's getting off his advertising budget). As I reside within walking distance to this shop, I left my car and went home to have lunch. Upon returning to the shop, I found him in the car, attempting to finish the test, while another gentleman appeared to be in a conversation with him. I walked around for a few minutes before he approached me and told me that there was a problem with my vehicle. To cut a long story short, he was unable to complete the test. He gave me some very vague possible explanation ("maybe you have a bad fuse", "maybe it's the fact it has a super-charger"). He told me to see my mechanic and show him the printout he gave me. Graciously, he did not charge me one cent. I took it to my mechanic. His/their diagnosis was that whoever ran the test (i.e. Angel) simply could not complete the test ("Maybe he doesn't know how to drive a stick-shift properly") and he directed me to a nearby Star Smog Test shop. 20 minutes later, I received my copy of the printout of the smog test. No problems whatsoever. While I applaud Angel for his courtesy and his honesty, the fact that he basically failed to run my car properly (in effect, maintain the 15 mph and 25 mph speed long enough) for the test to complete is not a great advertisement for his mechanic skills. Your experience may be different. One thing I can attest to is that Angel is an honest man, a gentleman. read more
