I called the others: First "machine not working", Second "cash only with that coupon", and third "that coupon appointment only, no walk in". WTF? I read on reviews of the "machine not working" place to instead go to "SMOG SOLUTIONS". 100% perfect service, took credit card (same price as cash), fixed price, fast in and out, and exactly the same price as the coupon deals with no "fine print" exceptions. Having to do a smog check sucks for sure, but Smog Solutions takes the pain out of it. Quick, efficient and friendly service. I think I've paid 40-60 dollars over the years for a smog, and TBH I don't know what the going rate is, but considering they make it so easy to get done here I'm happy to overpay if that's the case. But I get the sense that they charge a fair price here. The only downside is it's a small shop and the lot next door is undergoing major construction, so it can be difficult to get in here when it's busy. The BEST smog center I've ever had the pleasure of getting my Jeep serviced at! Super responsive, excellent customer service, friendly, and the best price in town. You can't beat this spot! My check engine light came on two days before my smog test. Of course. Took my Jeep to Smog Solutions where the super nice gentleman told me it was the EVAP line (this is NOT a surprise, the EVAP is the bane of my Jeep's existence), but he was able to tighten the cap, no problem, and told me to just take it to my mechanic and have them clear the code. Which I did. The mechanic huffed and puffed a little because there wasn't an issue for him to repair (i.e. charge me up the wazoo for), but ultimately he just ran the system and it was clear. So back to Smog Solutions I go to complete the smog test and get my dollars to the DMV for registration. Grateful for their honesty and pleasant way they handle their business. read more

I called and went right over immediately (but I had to wait 20 minutes for my smog test.) The test took 10-15 minutes, so I was out and about in 35 minutes or less. I called last week to inquire about availability and pricing of smog checks. The former location I patronized closed (according to Yelpers), so I was seeking a new location. I was in love with the other shop and the owner was so cool, so it was off-putting to have to find a new shop to have a smog check. I called another business and did not like the conversation with the person who answered. This location was my 2nd call. I was greeted so warmly. The gentleman was so kind, I decided to have my smog check done here. I showed up and one car was ahead of me. I waited longer for him to finish with that customer than my actual smog check took. He told me it would take 10-minutes. Not even. My vehicle passed and I paid the $65 fee for my SUV. When I got home, I was able to pay my renewal fee online. Smog checks are different here than my former favorite shop. This gentleman was really thorough. He went under my vehicle with a mirror, lifted the hood and also held a flashlight to look around the engine. Just an FYI from my mechanic: If your 'check engine' light is on, it is an automatic FAIL at a smog check. Some people may not be passing because of this. If you have fluid leaks, consider having them repaired, because he will check for leaks as well. Not sure if they impact your ability to pass a smog check, though. I am very pleased. I highly recommend this location and would absolutely return. Quick, comparably priced, thorough and SO polite. read more

I came here after dealing with various shady smog shops around town and I can truly say Francisco is a stand up guy and runs a great Star Certified smog shop! My car is rather particular and Francisco made sure everything was perfect as he double checked the OBD codes before running the scan to make sure the car was good to go. His staff are very friendly and welcoming and the entire process won't take more than 10 minutes once you're up to bat. I will definitely be taking my cars here in the future as this is one of the few honest Smog Shops and garages around town. They are however moving in the next few months so be sure to check out their new location. California has some of the most shady, overpriced DMV and BAR practices in the country, but shops like this make it a little less painful. Thanks Francisco! read more
