Came here needing a smog test to get the car registered in CA. We were in the area and just looked up smog places with good ratings and this one popped up. We got there and there was no wait. We explained to them the situation that although the car was brand new it was required to have a smog test. They got us in and out in like 15 minutes. They made the whole process easy and gave me physical copies of the paperwork and also via email! The whole area was nice and clean and pretty spacious. The office was clean as well as their restroom. They even had a little coffee station if you wanted some coffee. Would not recommend going here. Know that if you come in with any sort or yelp or Groupon discount you will be treated poorly. I called ahead and mentioned I had a discount and asked if I needed an appointment and was told no, just come in. When I arrive, I was rudely told by the guy there that I should've called for an appt. Then he proceeds to tell me there are extra fees involved for the smog check, then he started to complain to me about how he makes no money from Groupons. Ok, fine, but that's your choice to put your business on Groupon. As a business owner myself, I would never complain to customers about not making money from a platform I chose to advertise my business with. They also will not retest for free and definitely charge more than other places in the area. There are many options for this service in the area that provide much better customer service. I'd go elsewhere for sure. read more

I came in for a smog check and was told that I couldn't get the smog check because my check engine light was on. I tried to explain that my check engine light (and others) comes on occasionally but my battery health has been checked and is fine. I wanted to understand my options or get some advice before proceeding. Instead of listening or offering any guidance, the staff cut me off and told me flatly, "We can't help you. Go fix the problem." There were several people waiting and only one person working so I understand the need to keep things moving, but there was no explanation, no effort to understand the situation, just a dismissive attitude. I get that there are rules around check engine lights and smog checks, but the complete lack of customer service or willingness to even talk about it was really disappointing. I left feeling frustrated and ignored. If you're looking for a shop that communicates or has good customer service, look elsewhere. read more

I've been bringing my car here for years for a smog check and I'll never take it anywhere else. The prices are unmatched and service is always so fast. My car was done in exactly 10 minutes. And when I first got there, there was only one car infront of me and I waited less than 5 minutes for it to be done. Milkan is always so nice! Bait and switch. I tried to use their $39.75 coupon from the Value Pak. The coupon says (in fine print) that it is for first time customers only. I am a return customer who didn't read the fine print. They would not honor the coupon but gave me $15 off the $75 regular price. I waited 30 minutes so I grudgingly accepted. I won't be back. I don't like the bait and switch and the person working there gave me a loooong sob story about rising prices. I get it but be professional. I no longer recommend this place. read more

FAST AND EFFICIENT CULVER CITY STAR CERTIFIED STATION I never worried about passing tests of any kind until I failed one here! Since I checked-in on Yelp, the first test was discounted to $51.54, and it was performed immediately. Within fifteen minutes, the smog test guy explained my car failed due to my catalytic convertor and suggested I buy some Cataclean. I called my regular mechanic who explained that when I had a new alternator installed, all of the computerized information was reset. I had barely driven since then, so he said that I needed to do a "drive cycle." You can look them up on YouTube. I also discovered that due to the pandemic, many of us barely drove very far and had a similar issue. I took a trip out to the Descano Gardens to get my car up to speed as going 65 m.p.h. for about 20 minutes should help clear it. Sure enough, when I returned to A&M Smog II months later, my car passed the test! Unfortunately, I forgot that the second test is only free IF you return within 30 days. This time, it was $50, which covered the smog certificate that was sent directly to the DMV. Next time I need a smog test, I'll make sure I've been doing some high speed driving, and I won't wait until the last minute! The smog test guy felt bad for me. As a consolation, he suggested I buy some blind spot mirrors at an auto parts store and offered to put them on for free me. His care and consideration are a plus, though I wasn't happy to pay the price. read more

Lol. I called to get a quote for a B service on an SL. I was simultaneously looking at their website. I noticed that they charge 40$ more than Mercedes of Beverly hills. So when the guy answered, he said "hold on" and sent me to hold. Well since they were more expensive i simply hung up, rather than waste their time. Well this guy didn't like that so he took the time to call me back to only promptly hang up on me when I answered. I'm sure he sat up a little higher feeling like he'd "gotten me back." Before I took my car to smog, I walk in to ask the price and got quoted one price. Later I come back with my car and guy said it will cost more for Porsche. Is this right? End up paid cash to have the same price he quote. Tech claim Porsche need extra due to different connector which I don't think those OBDII connector are any different. While waiting smog, ask for oil change quote and seems reasonable price. Make an appointment to come back. Return and find out 1. they under quote me, want $60 more. 2. tech seems never worked on 911 before and try to open rear spoiler at all and oil change doesn't require doing that at all. My car did not pass or fail, the owner explained that I needed to drive at least 80 miles at 60 miles per hour before coming back to retest and get passed. I had no idea that not driving my car would affect my smog certification, so I was very grateful for the explanation and solution to getting a passing certification.
