I went in without an appointment, had a small 5-10 min wait until the car ahead of finished. Given all the high Yelp scores, I thought there'd be a giant queue to get my car smog tested. In and out in 20-minutes--for a pre-OBDII car. As those with older, more analog cars can attest, get smogged can be a nightmare. My parents had taken my car to a different shop while I was overseas for an extended period, where they literally spent an hour and a half waiting for the tech to figure out my car, to no avail. This year, since I was late registering to DMV, I decided to just go ahead and have him update my registration right after I got my smog check, and I got all the paperwork done plus I got the current sticker so I have no way of getting pulled over by cops. The owner, Haik, is not only awesome and knowledgeable about what he does, he is just plain good person! He wants to make sure every customer is satisfied, and it shows in his ratings. For instance, in 2013, he informed me that I did not need to smog check my car, and would not take my money, because that's just the kinda guy he is. Any other place would've just taken my money without telling me the truth! I don't see anyone wanting to go anywhere else for a smog check, period. Worth my 17 mile trip. If you are hesitating because you live kinda far away from them, it's worth the drive, especially if you live within 10 miles radius. I went to Smog Zone today, as I'd had such a great experience with them the last time (see old review below). This time was just as good. It was a very easy process (and I passed - yay!). I was behind one car, but they always kept me posted as far as how long it would be, and ultimately, I don't think I was there longer than 15 minutes. Everything was so easy. I can't recommend them highly enough. Old review, from two years ago: Great experience. I haven't had to get a smog check in over 15 years, so I didn't know if it was going to be a hassle, take a long time, cost a lot, etc. I was in and out in under 5 minutes. Yes, 5. Great moment with Sam. This will be my first smog for my Camty 2011. Since I had my car fixed a day ago, Sam advised me to drive the car for at least a hundred mile or more. I've been bringing my vehicle to Haik at Smog Zone for the past 4 years. I don't trust my vehicle to just anyone. He's very kind, informative and extremely honest. He has an associate Jack who's just as helpful. They both take the time to be informative and to let me know any changes in the smog law. Let me put it this way. I took my car there for a smog at the end of September 2018. Any other smog shop owner would have ran my car for a smog test, knowing that my check engine light being on would have resulted in a automatic fail. I had no clue this was the case or that it was a new law. Haik did and he told me right away that he wouldn't run my car for a test just to knowingly fail my car, and then charge me for the fail. He told me would not do it until I got the check engine light fixed. And that I'd be welcomed to bring it back as soon as I did. He even advised me how to find out how to figure the problem out. Haik is a life saver. It's for that reason that I brought it back to him because I trust his expertise. I trust his words. He's such an honest man in a dishonest world that's just around to make a quick buck. Which then brings me to the review posted by GCMS Incorporated. What in the world? Everything in their post is full of negativity and sounds like an angry customer that knew what the results would be and ended up angry anyway, because the results weren't to his liking. Haik, Jack and staff are some of the best people to deal with. Whether Haik is there or not, staff knows what they are doing. Why? Probably because Haik knows his stuff and he shares his knowledge with his crew. Personally I really trust Smog Zone. Haik and staff are pleasant to deal with and very transparent with me and I'm sure all of the other satisfied customers out there.
