This is the second time I returned to this place. I had my first inspection done by Jose which was very helpful and friendly. Today, I had an inspection with ABDELJALAL LAZIM in Irvine branch. This is the rudest experience I ever had in my life which involved inappropriate language, violate gesture, unprofessional attitude, yelling, shouting, and worst customer service you can ever get. First of all, when I parked at the station this guy "COMMANDED" me to roll down the windows, get out from the car and directed me to wait inside with aggressive attitude. It was the first negative impression he gave to me when I arrived there. I was waiting at the lobby I could heard all the action he took which included how he slammed my doors and hood hardly. I was concerning he might create some damage to my car. Eventually, he returned to his desk and asked me to swipe my credit card without inform me the result. Finally, he informed me that I didn't pass my smog check until I finished my payment. I asked him why he didn't inform me that I didn't pass my smog check before I processed the payment. He started arguing that it doesn't matter if I passed my exam or not I still had to pay, then I told to him that his attitude made me feel extremely uncomfortable and unprofessional. He shouted and yelled me to "Get the FxxK Out Now" in front of other customers for three times. Surprisedly, I never had any customer service staff who cursing and arguing aloud with inappropriate language before. Honestly, this is totally a different experience I had compared to last time. I really hope I can get the attention by the owner or manager. I am willing to provide more details from what I experienced with ABDELIALAL LAZIM. As a customer, I would say this is never acceptable. My brother recommended Smog Time to me and I had an awesome first smog check experience! JC was super courteous and helpful. I arrived on a Saturday around 1:30pm and was able to get my car checked right away. It took a total of about 15 minutes to complete and he sent the results to the DMV right after. I bought a groupon for the smog check and paid an additional $8.25 for the certificate to be send to the DMV. This business is a small business, so there is a 3% transaction fee for credit cards. Made a same day appointment and arrived 15 min early. I fully expected to wait until my appointment time but they were able to get me in right away and said the smog test would be about 20 min. The staff was very quick and friendly. My car was ready in about 15 min so I ended up leaving before my appointment even started! I chose SmogTime mostly because they had great reviews and a great Yelp price of $29.75 for the test and $8.95 for the certificate (way more wallet friendly then anywhere else), but their website said they could also process the DMV registration. Yay! Two for one! Unfortunately they've had some connection issues with the DMV so I had to go back home and complete that online. Alas, I'll be watching the mail for those precious stickers. This business played me. I would have given no stars if it was possible. I called to schedule a smog test and advised Smog Time that the check engine light in my car was on. I had the codes scanned and replaced all parts the car was throwing codes for. I asked if Smog Time could still smog the car. They advised they could. I reiterated this information upon arrival, again they said it's was no problem, that they could smog the car. They smogged the car and then told me they could not certify the car because the check engine light was on and read me back the same codes I had advised them the car was throwing. I reiterated that I had asked about this very issue and the vendor told me, "we said we could smog the car, not that it would pass." He then advised me to get the check engine light turned off, run a drive cycle, purchase another smog test from them and come back! I cannot believe a place like this would operate their business in such a dishonest manner, swindling customers for money and then trying to get even more. ** Response to Business Owner's Comment ** First, I understand and appreciate you articulating the point about not being able to certify a car with the check engine light on. That is precisely why I asked if it was possible to smog with the light on two times--once on the phone, and when I arrived--because I did not know and wanted to know if I needed to get it addressed in order to have the car smogged. Had your business been forthcoming with the information, I would known it was necessary to get the light addressed before attempting to smog the car. I trusted your employees to provide me with the correct information and they did not. Sorry for the 1 stop and review, it's not my style, but I doubt I'll be using them again. I was a little behind on my registration and recently had my check engine light go off so I tried for the smog (testing with the maintenance light or check engine light on will auto fail). Came in her with a coupon only to realize the yelp check in offer was a better deal. In and out in 15 minutes. It's a bare bones operation with 3 tech's and 1 front office person, 4 chairs, mags and a tiny office. It can't even be considered a reception area, just a waiting area. When I say bare bones so is the garage, no posters, no decorations, basically looks like a pop up shop in a way. Front desk is friendly, but tech's are not. Service is 1st come 1st serve, even though they take reservations it's usually not busy. The key is to get in here and get out, once your waiting in line it loses the value. They have other locations. Test Only. For $20 they'll do your registration there instead of sending it in and waiting, even though their reporting is electronic, it's not like the DMV suddenly releases registration unless both are cleared. read more

I stopped by for break services for my 2010 Acura RDX , and since im not very familiar with the auto parts, I trusted the owner who said he will change the front break pads and that will cost 250. I later found out that the break pads only cost $65 and he charged me 163.50 for 30 mins work. When i realized that he is charging me the same price at Acura Dealership or even more. He asked me to talk outside so no one will hear, I asked him to revise the invoice and to be fair no one will charge $163 for changing break pads.he was extremely rude and unprofessional.
