Great experience! Both Judi and the technician were very friendly. There was minimal wait plus the service was quick and easy. Done at a fair price which is uncommon these days. read more

This place says that they're open until 530 and whoever the guy is that is working on Thursday at 5:04 has to be the rudest person I've ever met This is the second time I've come and if you ever come and the owner is here you are golden but this guy hates women!!! He didn't even say he was sorry he just waved his hand at me and said we're not taking any more cars right now we're closed total jerk read more

Quick and easy smog test! I was in and out in about 10 minutes. Friendly service, no hassle, and everything went smoothly. Definitely recommend! read more

Aj was great to work with, super fast smog check. My car was completed under 10 minutes.

10/10 recommend if you need a smog check. I was in and out within 10 minutes. Everyone who works here was super friendly from the guy who I talked to on the phone, to the lady working the front desk. The most easy and seamless experience! read more

Service is fast and very efficient. The wait area is neat and organized. The staff is professional, courteous, and friendly. One of the cleanest auto shops I've ever been to. Be sure topurchase the Groupon coupon for a great discounted price. read more

This was very fast and the gentleman that did the test was friendly and helpful I had a coupon for a discount and that was nice. I passed and everything was modern efficient. I will always go to smog time read more

BROUGHT MY 2003 JAGUAR to this place and it actually passed the SMOG test but mechanic Frank Baker refused to pass stating that the EVAP had been tampered with somehow. Mechanic was VERY RUDE and wasn't even willing to spend time to explain his INCORRECT THINKING. He mentioned BENTLEY parts so I'm not even sure if he knew the difference between a BENTLY and a JAGUAR. Don't waste you money with the $40 mailer they are sending to IRVINE residents. THIS PLACE IS A SCAM!!! read more

I went in today and the guy was very fast, I'll give him that. The only concern i have is the knowledge the technician has. My car has been stock since 2001 and had to replace the catalytic converter (was done prior to me buying it). He didn't pass it because it was rusty. He also said i had defective/wrong hoses. One hose was a vacuum hose, on the hose it says windshield wash/vacuum hose. He only pointed at the windshield part and said it was wrong. IT WAS THERE SINCE I GOT IT AND IS FACTORY! Another one was a small crack at the end of the evap hose. He said that was defective. End of day I have not touched it since I bought it in 2019 and it has passed smog every time since then. read more

Call to make an appointment. When we got there they said they don't do appoint appointments and that we would have to wait. The car sat for over an hour and they did the small check while the car was cold. We told them the car is supposed to be hot when they do the check and they said it makes no difference our car car failed. We took the car over to Smog Jamboree They ran the test while the car was warm and it passed. When we told them about Smog Time they said they're getting a lot of complaints about that place and that the car does have to be warm before you can do the smog test. read more

Pulled up without an appointment to get my smog check on a Sunday afternoon. I was told that there was one car in front of me and it would take about ten minutes. The technician was very friendly and quick! I even forgot to bring my smog paperwork but he was about to just use my registration. I liked the convenience and the price didn't seem unreasonable. There's a 3% surcharge for credit but no surcharge for debit or cash. read more

I guess don't go here at lunch. They had one person there who acted like I was rude for asking if I was in the correct place for a smog check. Told me to come back in a "couple of hours" and I asked what time would be safe to come back. He loudly rolled his eyes and pointed at the clock and said "well I said 2 hours and in two hours it will be _:__" with a mocking voice. I am disabled and was merely seeking clarity because I wanted to go back at a good time. He acted like I personally ruined his day by asking for help in where to go. I went down the street and was in and out faster than I could write this review. Paid maybe a few bucks extra, but for the experience, I'd never go back to smog time, as I understand that sometimes you catch someone in a moment, but I would never spend money in a place that would treat a customer as I was. Best of luck to all with coupons! read more

Yes yes and more yes. They get Cha in n out with a quickness. Can't thank them enough for their professionalism and advice. Finally got my car to pass smog when I about gave up. They're amazing... will be back read more

Have been taking my cars here for 10 years. Up until now I have been happy with the service. This time, my daughter comes home in tears saying the guy yelled at her. Won't be going back. read more

Spent $600 on a repair, it failed a few days later, called the mechanic, Frank, who was beyond angry and extremely rude. Even though I had a warranty for this repair, I did not trust him to bring it back to him. I ended up eating that $600 and went to a different mechanic. BEWARE of this place!!! read more

The man here, FRANK, is so rude and disrespectful. He spoke to me in a way that was UNACCEPTABLE to speak to anyone for that matter and he speaks to his mechanics like they are idiots. The entire time during my smog check all I hear from the other room is him yelling at his mechanics. I feel so bad. He also spoke to me, a paying customer, like I was scum on his shoe telling me to just take my car away all because I was promised a discount on the phone and he wasn't willing to give it to me in person. Do not come here. Not a place that actually wants to service their customers. Big weirdo and horrible vibes you probably will leave here in a worse mood than you came in. read more

I went there for smog test. The technician is very professional, very straight forward and very efficient. The shop is in a very convenient location. The price is good. Overall, very good experience, definitely will come back for future smog test read more

When in for a smog check. They were fast and efficient! I'm a regular customer for 5 years.

Just got back from having my car smogged here. Pete Martinez is a guy who knows his stuff. My 2018 car in excellent condition gave a reading of its sensors not being ready, so it technically "failed" the test. Mr. Martinez gave me exact, detailed instructions of how to drive the car so it's sensor system would reset itself and be ready for the test. I followed his instructions to the letter, and I returned to have it checked again. Success! I can't thank him enough for assisting me. They are pretty quick getting you in and tested, no problems there either. You do need to have your coupon or groupon in hand if you want any discount so be prepared for that. All in all, I'm glad I came here and that Mr. Martinez shared the knowledge in order to get my car Passed and back on the road. read more

I highly recommend this place to anyone. Frank was quick with my car inspection and provided excellent customer service. All at a reasonable price! read more

I took in their mailer coupon thinking I would be paying $39.75 and $8.25 for the certificate. However it ended up being $10 more because I have an SUV. So when you're comparing prices carefully read their ad, which is not very clear about their pricing. I believe they also charge an additional $10 if you have a car older than 2000. read more

Came here for a smog check, and they have the Best & fastest, friendly service, I sat in the waiting area for about 15 minutes and got outta there, they do their job great here highly recommend! read more

I came in for a smog test today. Before coming in, I called and asked for a quote of the service being done on my make and model of my car. I was promised a reasonable price $58 for a smog test. So I came through and showed up. As soon as a showed up I was given a price at $72. I then kindly said I spoke with someone about a lower price and then immediately it was changed. That part was fine, I can understand mis communication or mistakes. Now here comes where I normally don't write reviews especially nasty ones, but this is where I draw the line. As my car was being inspected I overheard Peter who was inspecting the car say Something about how he "screwed up" on an inspection answer and needed assistance on my car from his coworker or manager. Whole entire time I watched him do the inspection as I had a feeling my car wasn't being handled with care. As he finished up my paperwork of my smog test passing, he calls my name up as I see my car is still running out front by the office door. As I came up to him, I kindly asked if he had turned my car off before returning my keys back to me. He then responded back with a attitude of "yeah I did" as I caught him not being truthful as I pointed out it is still running. He then proceeded to walk out the door with my keys, gets in MY CAR, shuts my door hard, THEN drives around the block to park my car farther away. For what, to act like a FUCKING PATHETIC DICKHEAD. I'm like WTF. his behavior in doing that action was simply because I called him out on him not professionally taking care of a paying customer who just simply wanted to know why my car wasn't turned off. Im not starting B.S for nothing. Doing a smog test on a clients car does not consists of unprofessional rude behavior towards a young girl who is getting her car checked out. Just because I'm a young individual doesn't mean I will tolerate a man's rude actions. Anyways. That man Peter was not someone who should be working on clients cars with unacceptable behavior that left me so upset and angry. That situation didn't have to go that way. Get better employees who actually care about there paying customers. Do better, people will actually want to come back read more

In and out in 30 minutes. No up sell or other funny stuff. My go to place for my Honda.

The guy with the glasses is so extremely rude I had questions to ask him and he kept telling me to pull my car in and every time I asked him another question he kept being short and rude I asked him hey there's no need to be rude and he just kept being rude fuck this guy this. read more

I came for a smog test and was able to get the test going quickly. The guys were friendly, fast and professional. I'll be back again!

The older gentleman with glasses (JC I think?) was so kind and reassured me that he'll take care of what I needed done. He was also very quick like promised. I will keep this business in mind for my next smog check! Thank you JC! read more

I normally do not and hate writing bad reviews because I know we all make mistakes in our work and I get it. But in this case I feel I must make a bad yet honest review of this establishment. I've have been going to Smog Time for years for my other cars and had a great experience up until this last smog check. Years ago, I purchased a van that has an incorrect emissions label under the hood from a private party and the van passed with previous smog test establishments. This time, I took my van to Smog Time to have it smog checked expecting a normal routine but they failed me for the incorrect emissions label under my hood (the label indicated a 2000 van with a 5.9L engine when I had a 2003 van with a 5.2L engine [I'm leaving the make & model out for privacy reasons]). Longer-story short, after they sent me on an unsuccessful run around for two weeks to the dealer, the DMV, and AAA, I sought the advice of two other CA STAR-certified smog techs who said Smog Time should NOT have failed me for an incorrect label. Each tech said they'd be happy to smog test me but since my van was in the CA system as a failed smog check, they recommended that I go back to Smog Time; therefore, I returned so they can retest me but they still refused and boldly told me to call the Bureau of Automotive Repair (BAR) and even gave me their phone number. I called the BAR and they ran a background check on my car based on my VIN and confirmed my vehicle history is clear. Then, they scheduled an appointment for me with one of THEIR BAR smog techs. Needless to say, I passed beautifully within minutes. In addition (and again), the BAR smog tech told me Smog Time should NOT have failed me because of the incorrect label and quoted to me California Code of Regulations (CCR) Title 16, Section 3340.45, Section 1.3.2 - "A missing or illegible emission control label does not constitute an inspection failure" and in cases where the label is missing, they're required to proceed with the inspection using other BAR-approved sources. Furthermore, he recommend that I go to another smog check facility next year. Again, I really hate writing bad reviews and I don't do this often but felt the need to share my experience despite my past positive experiences with Smog Time for years. read more

Worst customer service of my life. Only one person working here and his attitude was absolutely terrible! Unfortunately he may be the owner or manager so I wouldn't bother spending your money here to be treated so bad! Now that I read other 1 star comments I see many others have experienced the same treatment. Wish I could give zero stars. read more

JC, thank you so much for being honest, kind, funny, and most of all: reliable! I was recommended by Star Auto two years ago to JC and Smog Time to get a smog check for my 2013 Toyota Prius, and I am so glad I did. The service here is incredible and quick! I showed up even before they were open, and being the early bird, I got the "worm" and was in and out. The DMV requests a smog check every two years for cars that are 8 years or older... Bummer for me, but grateful for a business that still has values and morals! They sometimes have deals, so always ask read more

Needed a smog, this place showed up on a local search. It's a little tricky to find the shop in the complex, but the "Smog " sign helped. I had to ask for the Yelp pricing, but it was applied after request. The actual testing was very quick and easy! I waited a total of about 5 minutes, and that was with one customer ahead of me. Fast, affordable, and easy. Will definitely come back for a smog check in the future! read more

Good guys- mention discount before service. :) using for years - still recommend highly

Super easy. I went in the morning so it wasn't super busy, not sure if that's normal but it was really nice to not have to wait too long. Service was fast, friendly and informative. There are a couple chairs inside for you to chill in while you wait. No appointment needed for a smog check. There are Groupons available which made it significantly cheaper which is why I went here. It made it a good price for the service. Just let them know up front. read more

Was asked to wait 15 min for lunch break, okay sure. Guy leaves me in the waiting room for 45 minutes and never comes back. I go outside and see him walking off the property. Annoying. He's the only one there so there's no one else to help me. I left. What a joke of a business and waste of time. Don't bother with this place. EDIT: I should have looked at the reviews before coming here. This place seems like it has gone downhill recently. I've taken my car here before and had a great experience. Whoever is now working here is truly terrible. read more
