Had a fantastic experience here. It was my first time having a vehicle go through a smog check. I didn't expect it to take only 12 minutes?! Pricing was transparent. I was even able to get some advice on some of my car's issues that weren't smog related. Service was amazing and the waiting room had a nice ambience. Would highly recommend this spot! read more

Smog Spot - Cozy waiting room! - Smog Check Stations Near Me - Laguna Hills, California

I came to the Smog Spot to get a smog check on my vehicle so that I could renew its registration. I have to say the quality value of service that I received at the mock spot is beyond words. The owner is very friendly and professional. The shop itself is very clean and high-end. The waiting area is very nice and relaxing. I have to mention the restroom here... It was like being in the restroom at a high-end luxury resort in Las Vegas. I was in and out of here in about 12 minutes at a very affordable price. I highly recommend the Smog Spot. read more

Sean was awesome! Right when I got in, he greated me with a smile and asked if I wanted any water. I filled out some paperwork for the smog, and in less than 15 minutes, it was done! Super fast and friendly service! I would definitely recommend anyone coming here to get your smog checks done! I will be coming back for all my other cars in the future! Thanks for your help! read more

The test was quick, and the mechanic was friendly, and he offered me a bottle of water while I waited. The price he quoted me was even less than the advertised price! So I saved even more money. Thank You Smog Spot!! read more

Smog Spot is a small, owner-operated smog check shop tucked away in a little business complex in Lake Forest. I found it because it was one of the only places open on Sunday, and I'm glad I did, as it turned out to be a diamond in the rough. I brought my older Honda Civic in for a smog check. The price was very reasonable and the whole experience was hassle-free. They've got a nice little waiting room set up, and the owner offered me a water while I waited, which was a nice touch. You can tell he cares about how he runs the place. My car didn't pass on the first try, but the owner took the time to point out that part of my intake needed to be replaced instead of just handing me a fail and sending me on my way. Once I took care of the repair and brought it back, it passed without any issues. Sunday availability, fair pricing, and good old-fashioned customer service. Five stars and a class act! read more

Great price; fast, thorough service for my smog test. The gentleman who serviced my car was friendly and easy to work with.

Friendly service, easy in and out! This is my second time coming here, both times deserve 5 stars.

The owner (Sean) takes pride in his business and cares about his customers. This is readily obvious from how he maintains the waiting area (more like a lounge), prompt service and has the best rate in the area. I wish you well, Sean! read more

Found this small business on Yelp! Thanks, Yelpers!! I needed a Star-Certified Smog Check on my 22 year old car, and all it took was 12 minutes to have my smog completed. Very happy! Excellent customer service, and they took great and delicate care of my vehicle. For $48, it's so worth it. He even gave me my change in a $2 bill. WOW!!! Haven't seen those since I was a kid!!! Comfortable waiting area, clear signage, with nice and clean spot. You need an effortless smog, go to the Smog Spot! ALL the positive Yelp reviews are accurate! Most definitely, I'm returning in a couple of years! Highly recommended! And there you have it.... read more

This is by far my favorite place to get my smog tests at. Sean is very friendly and an honest business owner. His shop is very clean with a very nice waiting area. His service is always quick and offers the best price in town. I don't ever mind driving a little further, passing many other smog test shops along the way, to get my car inspected by Sean. Thanks again as always, keep up the great work! read more

I took my Hyundai to the Smog Spot for a DMV registration check on a rainy day. I made an appointment two days before. The location is pristine, incredibly clean. You feel like you're walking into a showroom rather than a mechanics location. The person at the desk who did the smog check was efficient and polite. The entire process took less than half an hour. The Smog Spot also had a coupon running at the time so I was able to save $10 on my service. This was the best smog check experience I've ever had in my 30+ years of driving and definitely recommend this location. read more

The owner was friendly and service was quick! Everything was done in 10 minutes and passed. He even moved my car and reparked it at the original spot. Highly recommended! This was the best value and service for smog I found near 92688. read more

Excellent experience--quick, efficient, and very well run. The facility was clean, organized, and far from the typical image of a smog shop. The entire process was straightforward and surprisingly comfortable, especially as a woman--it felt very "girl-friendly" and not at all like the long-wait, chaotic, or dirty car environments you might expect. Everything was handled smoothly, and I was in and out with no hassle. At $48, it was also great value for the level of service. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a fast, clean, and stress-free experience. read more

All I have to say is wow! I've been to plenty of smoke shops, and this one has to be the cleanest. I love the interior. It was very welcoming. The couch was clean. The lobby smelled nice, and I liked the big, huge TV. The customer service is fantastic. Sean offered you water or a drink. He takes care of your car and the paperwork. He responds to messages very fast through Yelp. That is a plus because many places don't message you back. I would definitely come here again. read more

Came by and had one of the best experiences, as far as a failing smog check could go! I came here on a Wednesday, ready to pass my smog check to renew my car's registration. I sought a quote from the yelp page, and they responded to me within 20 minutes! Fantastic! I was able to come in, and be seen very quickly. Unfortunately, my vehicle did not pass. Not to fret, I was not charged a dime, and the gentleman at the counter even told me exactly what I needed to pass my smog check! It was a ripped intake hose! After having ordered the part, going through the grueling install process, and driving back on a Saturday, I met the same gentleman (regrettably, I didn't get his name), and we ran it back! This time, I passed! Good to go, and spirits high, I paid the extremely reasonable fee, and sped home! I gotta recommend this place to anyone who's in need of a smog check! P.S. they have a particularly gripping nature documentary on in the lobby. read more

It was time to get the car smogged and after checking around town, Smog Spot won my business. Price is fair, the location is super clean, and the owner, Sean, is fast and efficient. There was a little hiccup the first time I tried to smog my car, but Sean politely explained what was going on and what I had to do to get it completed. Thankfully everything went smoothly and I don't have to get this done again for another 2 years. I would highly recommend this spot if you're looking to get your vehicle smogged. read more

Service for a Smog Check was quick and the customer Service was excellent. Initial communication happened via text and let me know they can accommodate my car even close to closing. I really needed to get the Smog Check done because my Registration was set to expire at the end of the month. Even though there were 2 cars before me. I was taken care of quickly. The price was cheaper than many of the other shops I had contacted. read more

Needed to get my Subaru smog checked and found this place. By far cleanest auto place I've visited. Front area and waiting room was comfortable and the floor of the vehicle area is unique and spotless. When I walked in the owner greeted me promptly and offered me water while waiting. He took the car to the back and finished within 10 minutes. Excellent place and will be taking my truck here when it's time. Only tricky thing is the location. You can park in front of the audio store or take the alley down to the back. He does have flags up at Del Lago so you can see the building. read more

Excellent experience from start to finish. Sean was friendly, courteous, and got me in and out quickly. Pricing was very fair, and the entire process was hassle-free. What really stood out was how clean and modern the shop is. It's incredibly well maintained and feels nothing like the typical smog check stations I've been to in the past. You can tell he takes pride in his business. I'll definitely be coming back for my next smog check and would highly recommend them. read more

Great and fast service, completed within 10 minutes. Called ahead of time because I was looking for a place that offered smog check for pass or no pay due to a poor experience at a different smog check place. If you're located near Great Park, Irvine Spectrum, East Irvine, Quail Hill, Laguna Altura, or Irvine Research Center this location is nearby. Was able to do drop in with no appointment. I went to a different smog check place before going to this location and they said I didn't pass my OBDII catalyst and oxygen sensor. However, it can be fixed if I drive at least 100 miles and return to pay an additional $40 for a re-test resulting in a total of nearly $80 for a mid-size sedan!! I told that place that I won't be returning back and when to search for a different place online. Found lots of positive reviews from this place. Called and asked if they did pass or no pay which they typically do as long as no tampering has been made to the car and check engine light is not on. This business gained my trust and I will return in the future! Total was $48 for the smog check test and certificate (total is with a $10 off coupon applied) the coupon was listed on their Yelp page. read more

The bathroom is amazing. I know it seems strange to focus on the bathroom when reviewing a spot that specializes in performing automotive emissions testing, but hear me out. As an automotive enthusiast, I've been in countless garages and shops over the years. One of the quickest ways to determine if the business is customer-focused is to check out the bathroom. If the bathroom is a mess, you don't want them working on your vehicle. I had recently purchased a 25-year-old Miata for my son and needed to get it smogged. Since the vehicle was older and was equipped with some aftermarket performance goodies, I didn't want to take it to just any Smog testing facility. After seeing friends with older exotics and modified vehicles taking their vehicles to Smog Spot, I knew I was in good hands. I gave them a call at 2:45 on a Monday, spoke with Sean, and he told me to come on by. I arrived at 3:15 and was done by 3:45. Sean's Smog Spot provided the easiest and cleanest smog testing experience I've ever had. The facility and waiting area are spotless and the bathroom is amazing. read more
