Eddie completely wrecked my car while providing a routine service. He tried to blame it on my car by saying the "brakes failed AFTER he serviced the car" which just shows the mechanic's error and not a random brake failure like he so claimed? I understand mistakes will happen, and while this is annoying and possibly the worst Christmas gift ever. The reason I am truly upset is the complete lack of urgency and the misalignment between his words and actions. He initially said he felt bad so I gave him grace and was patient and kept my mouth shut. He gave me a 2 week estimate of my car being fixed even though I knew immediately from seeing the photos of the damage they would have to deliver parts and it would take longer due to the holidays, but I bit my tongue and trusted the so-called "expert". It is now past 2 weeks and it is still NOT fixed! He was originally going to leave me WITHOUT a car for the duration of the time it was going to be fixed. I had to demand a rental be covered by him. And then the rental that I had found was "too expensive" (it's literally the week of Christmas and I need a last minute rental). He decided to try to find a cheaper rate but was unable to, shocker, and I was stuck and unable to get a rental for 8 DAYS having to rely on others schedules to borrow their cars/get rides. At this point I get fed up and say I don't care I'm picking up a rental. Here are my main issues: Do not say you are sorry or feel bad about wrecking my car right before the holidays and then wait 2 WEEKS UNTIL JAN 2nd to drop off my car at another auto body shop. The day you should've dropped it off was the 19th the day you wrecked my car! Truly and honestly who is going to be working on Christmas? Update: I spoke with Eddie on the phone and he straight up lied to me saying the auto body shop was closed during the holidays. So the shop was closed from the 19th to Jan 2nd? Being so boldly lied to in my face is so incredibly disrespectful after everything he has done so far. It's the cherry on top! Well, I gave the shop a call today to get more information. They were ONLY closed on Christmas and New Years. He had 2 weeks - 12 days to act with urgency and get my car into the shop to place the order for parts quicker! Additionally the body shop had no idea my car was actually my car and that when Eddie dropped it off there was no mention of it being a customers car and no request for help with a speedy service. Also this was the "only" shop he could use and insurance told him to wait to even take it into a shop? I mean is this believable to anyone?? Surely not to me!! Second, you should not say ANYTHING about the price of the rental when you were the one who damaged my car in the first place. Maybe the rental price would be cheaper if you took my car in sooner? I actually do expect you to drop everything and try your hardest to fix this insane mistake. Third, the audacity of this man to offer my car back to me saying it is still drivable in its wrecked condition just to avoid the additional rental car prices. Eddie is now paying for the rental which mind you is the BARE MINIMUM in this situation, but in my phone call he's telling me how I should be feeling and that I should be"grateful" for him doing this gesture? As if he's not the one who destroyed my car in the first place?? Summary: Only goto Eddie if you are fine with losing your car for a month for just a simple service! If not, literally go ANYWHERE else. UPDATE: So after 3 weeks of being gaslit by Eddie, his insurance company finally contacted me back and said my car was totaled!! This was something I knew from DAY ONE - the minute I saw the damage he caused!! His actions to rectify this have been the most unprofessional and frankly disrespectful. read more
