Took my Class A RV there for its annual smog check and the work done was efficient and quick. It was a fixed charge so I couldn't complain about the price. I felt good enough about the service to return when necessary. read more

Called here to see if they could squeeze me in after I noticed irresponsibly that my registration had expired and I needed new smog check. Joe got me in and out in five minutes while offering me help in other areas of my car, and being very very helpful! That is all; do recommend this business! I never knew I could get my registration done so quickly! This is the type of customer service that keeps people coming back. read more

Came in recently to get a smog check done on our truck. The shop is in a convenient location and rarely busy which makes for a quick in-n-out trip! Pricing seems fair to me. The owners are wonderful people and very kind. Some of the technicians are a bit hit or miss though. On this most recent visit, the technician was a bit abrasive at first and easily irritated. However, by the end of my visit he cheered up and was very pleasant. Overall though, I do highly recommend them! read more

Headed to smog monkey when my NV registration became due and I needed a smog check. Upon arrival the tech greeted me. He was very nice and professional. He did my smog (which passed) and processed my dmv fees. Everything was fast and efficient. Smog is $30 and fee for processing dmv fees was $10. Definitely recommend and will continue to use them for all my future smog needs. read more

Unless you live in a small town outside of a designated smog zone (but who really believes pollution stops/begins at arbitrary geographical boarders?) having to do an emissions inspection is a reality that many of urban and sub-urban dwellers face when owning an on the road vehicle these days. We recently moved to Sparks and since we HAVE to have it done, why not choose a location that makes it as trouble-free as possible? Quick service - Check - has two inspection stations available. Efficient - Check - done in less than 15 minutes, albeit it was 8 am. Friendly - Check - had great a conversation during the test. Reasonable cost - Check - cost not posted online but was $30, about the same every where else that I could determine. Easy to get to - Check I guess this should be the end of my review then! Hahaha! read more

Would give no stars if possible Service tech and I use that term loosely was the most miserable incompetent worker I've come across in awhile The owner is much better than this employee read more

Went in for a smog after work, it was a hot day and I was giving that thought as to why the employee was a complete A-Hole. But then as I was leaving another car pulled up and he was being an A-Hole to him. As a business no matter how you're feeling no need to be rude to someone off the bat. Dude does not belong there. They used to have another guy who was nice but this guy ruined the experience and made me decide not to go there. Don't know if he's rude, racist, or tired, either way if you can't handle your emotions in customer service, you don't belong there man. I get it if the customers are rude, then by all means be rude back but this guy either needs to quit or get put in his place and realize he's not that guy. Place has some great reviews before but you can definitely tell by the most recent reviews, it's gone to Sh**. To the owners, if you want your business to thrive then get rid of these kind of employees, if you don't care enough and encourage it, then good riddance when you go out of business. read more

Came in for a easy smog check. Smog technician was very rude right from the start when asked what he needed. He snapped "I wanna eat my fucking lunch is what I need" and attempted to refuse even doing the test 3 times finally saying he refused to do the test because drivers door wouldn't open. I got door open and motor cover removed in a few mins and figured the tech would calm down but he remained rude up to the slamming of the door as he went to his office ? I hope he had a good lunch but he definitely don't have a professional yet even decent attitude..Sorry you had to do your job I guess? read more

I love this place, drive up, get hooked up, paperwork finished and on your way in less than 20 minutes. Smogged, registration renewed. Driving down the road. What's not to love about getting my car smogged and the registration renewed quickly and without having to go to the NV DMV. Definitely worth the few extra dollars it costs just to not have to spend half a day renewing my registration. read more

This is my third visit to Smog Monkey on Prater. The service is outstanding every time. I now calendar seeing them so I don't accidentally go to the wrong smog location. The service is always friendly, welcoming, professional and fast. I really appreciate how predictably wonderful my annual visit is. read more

So today was one of those days we all put off.. the smog your car day. The reason I go to Smog Monkey is this is a local owned independent business and the owner is fabulous! Very personable and easy to talk to. Right now Prater is so torn up in front of his business I don't know why he doesn't just shut the doors temporarily, but no I drive by and he is open! So I had to go to Rock and track back to get to him but as always it's worth it! You pull up he signals that he sees you and while he is working on someone else's smog he comes and hooks you up and then back to the other customer with not a beat lost. He finishes with the other customer and rolls on back to you with a big ol smile on his face. Chats you up and finishes your smog talking with you the whole time. Whole time was about 10 minutes minus that chat we had about the best places to eat in the area. Thanks again for another great job! Come on by do the back track and get your smog done here, so worth it read more

Freaky fast service! Only $19.95 pass or fail. I went to national chain store and was turned away for a smog check, because reportedly the DMV system was down at the time. So I left the parking and immediately drove the 4 blocks down to Smog Monkey - absolutely the best experience I have had for this service. I would bet that I spent less than 5 minutes total at the shop. Rob is friendly, personable, and definitely efficient. read more

Called the day before leaving to California and was able to book an appointment for the next morning with no problem. The service was fast and the gentleman who worked on my car did a very good job on my headlight and even threw in a few tips to care for my newly restored headlight. Since the beautiful state of NV doesn't provide emissions testing, Hubby and I took our vehicles to Smog Monkey. There was no waiting, and we didn't even sit down in the waiting room, because the fellow doing the smogging was done with our cars in about 5-10 minutes. He was the owner, and he asked us how we found his business. We agreed it was the name that stuck in our minds. He gave us a coupon for a discount for next year ("Uhhhh, we do this once a year?" said I, the former Oregonian), thanked us genuinely for our patronage, and we were on our way. We'll definitely remember the monkey when we have to do this it again in a mere 365 days (!). read more
