Good bbq. Been here several times and they are consistently good. I had a ribs and wings combo with 4 very meaty ribs and good smoked wings. The corn nuggets are outstanding and delicious. Others in my party had a pork plate with a generous portion of pork and a great smoked turkey sandwich. They have a large selection of BBQ sauces so anyone should be able to find a sauce they like. The only downside was the 1/3 of a piece of corn on the cob. I like a full ear. read more

Had the chicken salad on a bun with collards. A good solid chicken salad. The different types of bbq sauce was overwhelming so many choices and all I had was one sandwich. I love me some sauce. Tried the original, extra hot, and Carolina vinegar. Original was not what I expected Thick and a little sweet but good. The extra hot wasn't super hot but a decent kick. All the flavors of the sauces were good. Chicken was tender and flavorful. The collards were okay nothing special. Look forward to trying more of the bbq. On a non food note. The owner or manager who ever he was definitely cares about the place. Smitty's Lockdown came to my job for Fooda and I absolutely loved the food but more than that the people were so nice, courteous and pleasant. Where you spend your money matter and although the restaurant is not close to where I live I will gladly travel to eat there. The food and the people are worth it!! read more

Some of l the best ribs I have had in a long time. The meat had a great taste and the BBQ sauce I tried was sweet. It was not vinegary which I was happy about. I am not sure what they make the sweet with but it tasted kinda like blueberry. Regardless it was great. I had good portions and it was really good all the way around. Food is decent I give it two stars because half the time it's good the other half it's not good at all. Very inconsistent - I'm sure the recipe is good I feel like it's just staffing issues and having people work there that just don't care. Probably have ordered from here a dozen times. Not feeling to well off the food I got last night so I think it's time to quit. Maybe will try again in a year or so but I'm done for now. This used to be a Shane's rib shack but just changed over a month or so ago. Nice owner and the recipes aren't Shane's anymore so that's a good thing. I think the staff needs to be a little more up to date on the menu and helping people out but good intent is there. Order the 1/4 chicken and it was tasty, wife ordered the brisket sandwich which was good. Sides were decent, we'll go back and hope for further development of their products. read more

I have ordered here several times. Food in the past has been pretty good. This time my chicken, which was all dark meat was dry. And the okra seemed to have been fried twice. There were clumps of salt on it and the breading was super hard. Not just crisp. Not sure I will order here again. read more

We ate here today for the first time. We both had the pork sandwich on Texas toast with fries. Everything was super tasty! The fries had a coating that made them extra crispy. The pork was smokey and a large portion. One of the great things about this place is the huge variety of sauces. We liked the original or spicy best. The tea was fresh and the staff was friendly. Had an amazing dinner for what I thought would be a "typical" barbecue joint. While they do have the normal barbecue sauces that are awesome, they have so many others to choose from. Our favorite was their Korean sauce, but they were all great. The pork belly was the Friday night special and it was some of the best barbecue I've ever had. The side dishes were equally delicious. I guess I still long for Shane's Rib Shack, which used to be at this exact same location, with the exact same management. Still has the same friendly service. We ordered a family meal of BBQ pork, French fries, baked beans, Texas toast and a gallon of peach tea and lemonade mix. The bbq pork with the sauce they gave us in the little cups (it used to be called Shane's Sauce. I guess it could be called Lockdown Sauce?) was on point! The baked beans were good, but not as good as Shane's. It seemed as though it was missing something. On Thursdays they have $1 peach cobbler. Children 12 and under eat free on weekends! I guess if I go more often, I'll get used to the change and give this place more stars! read more

The Mac and cheese is worse than stouffers. And while I was waiting for takeout inside. I heard the boss apologize to several customers in the place for who knows what. Your BBQ place sucks. The building itself is pretty discreet and is just off of canton rd. I had their food at the Taste of Marietta and didn't even realized I lived this close! BBQ is amazing -- they give A LOT of meat! Mac n cheese is okay, BUT! They have fried okra! I hate how it seems super slow, but I think they do a lot of catering. I feel like if they advertised BBQ more, a ton of people who be here! I only gave them a 4/5 because of the mac n cheese! And they're health score is a 95! Oh, and I wish they smother the BBQ before putting it on my sandwich, but the benefit is that the bread doesn't get soggy! read more

Ok people it's about to get real! Smith's Lockdown BBQ is where it's at for BBQ! I had never been and was hungry for some good mouth watering bbq and boy did I get it! The plates are plentiful with plenty of meat and 2 sides. I had the Pork plate with a side salad and broccoli (I don't eat carbs so no fries). My husband had the pork plate with a salad and fries (he eats a lot of carbs, lol). The pork was nice and moist and very flavorful and my husbands fries were mounded on the tray. Now let me tell you about their broccoli, hum a good word for their broccoli would be OMGYUM! It has a very good "special seasoning" on it that sent me back for more. Everything was very delicious and fresh, they also have a nice selection of bbq sauces for just about every tastebud. Love the decor as part of the place looked like a jail complete with showing rebar. If you are looking for some good bbq give Smittys a try I guarantee you'll want to go back again, we will be!! read more

If you're looking for smoked barbecue, this is not the place, I decided to try it again, the owner assured me that they smoke it for 13 hours. They must be using some sort of a neutral wood. I can guarantee you there is no smoke Ring, and if you're looking for a smoky taste you better use the hickory smoked barbecue sauce. It kind of reminds me of Upper Pennsylvania barbecue that you buy at a convenient store. Sorry I wish I had something better to report. Probably the worst bbq I've ever had. This was our first time there and will be the last. Lots of cars parked around the place so we thought it was popular. Once in, there was no customers there. This was around 6:30pm on a Friday night. The cashier was nice but the food was just terrible. I got the pork plate with fries and green beans. The pork tasted like it was a day old and was extremely dry. I didn't even finish 3/4 of it. My daughter got the kids plate with pork sandwich. She couldn't even finish hers either...made her stomach hurt. I would have complained but my wife had just complained about her sausage plate being over cooked to the point that it was all charred and un-edible. They brought her a new plate with much better looking and tasting sausage. I didn't want to say anything about my food but should have. I didn't really think it would have made a difference as I assumed all of their pork would have been from the same batch. I did like the green beans and fries weren't that bad. Their bbq sauces are pretty good. Save your money and go elsewhere. Willie Jewell's BBQ isn't too far away and is light years better. read more

My daughter and I went for dinner and we were pleased. She had Tenders and Fries. The tenders were hand-breaded and not over done and she said the fries were like the Pier Fries at Old Orchard Beach in Maine (that's a major complement from her). I had the pork plate with beans and collards. The potions were good and while I wasn't over the moon with the collards, I will say the rest was pretty tasty. They also have a nice variety of their own sauces that I'm sure will please every pallet. It was their first night open and the fountain drink machine was still being worked on so we had sweet and unsweetened tea, both were good as well. The staff was very friendly as were the owners who both asked for honest opinions about our meals. All in all we enjoyed it and will go back. Oh and the prices were reasonable too. read more

The ribs were my favorite but the whole chicken was a very close second! The sauce options are great and anyone can find their perfect flavor. When they first opened this place was very well managed, but since then they seem to have changed managers or owners, not sure which and it shows. Not as well run as when they first opened. The sides are really good. I think is a bit pricey as is the combo sandwich with a side and drink for $10. It's BBQ so I guess that's why it costs more? Not sure. Great sides: Collard greens (no pork), broccoli, baked beans (no pork), baked macaroni and cheese (great). Banana pudding is realky good, but again $3.50 which seems to be in line with most BBQ places from what I have seen. read more

We have now ordered twice through UberEATS and both times it has been fantastic. Both times we got smoked wings and they are excellent. Came here last night for the first time. I ordered a half rack with fries and mac and cheese. I also ordered a half pound of brisket. I am a huge brisket fan so I wanted to try theirs and see if it was good. Man was I wrong. Two things majorly wrong with the brisket. First, it was all fat. I don't mind fatty brisket but this was all fat cap with very little meat. Second, even the meat that I did have was almost impossible to eat. They cut the slices with the grain not against it like your supposed to. Cutting with the grain makes the meat very stringy and tough. I gave the brisket to my dog. Very disappointed with this places brisket. The ribs were ok. Nothing really special about them. The owner should make sure that the cooks know how to slice brisket moving forward. This was my second time here. The first time I got the polish and corn nuggets. Polish was just ok, corn nuggets were good. I came back this time and got the brisket, Mac & Cheese, baked beans and peach cobbler. Best thing they have going for them is the peach cobbler. After waiting 15 min I received my food, which was to go. I got in the car to sample the brisket and it was barely warm. Not sure why it took so long of the food was not hot. Got home and started to easy. Mac & Cheese was soupy, no real flavor. Baked beans were also soupy and I would equate them to Busch's baked beans. Nothing spectacular at all. They gave a good portion of brisket which was good, but it lacked flavor. I wish they also provided Texas toast with your meal. I was hoping this was going to be good, but honestly it's just average. Jim & Nicks and Williams Bros are much better options. They are fairly new so hopefully it will improve. Right now, Righteous Que is my fave non-chain BBQ spot. Update---Tried this place again on Labor Day. First a bottle of BBQ sauce exploded all over me when I was using it. I guess someone didn't put the lid on all the way. They tried to help me clean it but my white pants were destroyed. Tried the brisket again and it was awful. No seasoning at all and it was mushy! This meal. It only cost $15 but it also cost me a pair of pants. Totally not worth it. After this, I definitely will not be back. I should have gone with my gut and drove the extra distance to Righteous Que in East Cobb. East Cobb needs better BBQ selections. read more
