Great food! We got Brisket and Pork (no sides) to take home. It was delicious! Sauce has great flavor also, but meat stands on its own.

It was not open the day we planned to go. No reason as to why. Saturday midday. They should have posted a sign as to why they were not open.

These wings are smoked and then fried before being tossed in the flavor of your choosing. They are huge and always perfected cooked. I absolutely love the atmosphere and old school feel of JDs. A small bar and massive dining hall with lots of fun art on the walls. The place always smells fantastic from the smoker too. Service is alway the best. All of the servers are super friendly and quick with taking orders and getting drinks. Aside from the wings we have tackled all the apps, sides, and some of the bbq. So far we have been impressed with just about everything. The hush puppies, fried jalapeno, and collard greens are among my favorites. Honestly one of my favorite spots! Definitely worth checking out.

I actually ended up getting there early at 4:45, but my order wasn't ready until 6:10--over an hour and a half after placing it and well past closing time. When I finally got home, I discovered the main part of our family meal--3 lbs of pulled pork--was missing. I called immediately, and the initial response was that they would "put a credit in the book," but since they were closed, nothing could be done until the next day. This was a meal meant to feed 12 people, so that wasn't acceptable. After pushing back, I was finally told I could come back and pick it up. When I arrived, instead of an apology, I was questioned about whether I checked the pint containers because the kitchen was "100% positive" the pork was in the order. I explained again that I went through every bag and container, yet I was met with more insistence that they were sure it had been packed. The apology I eventually received was half-hearted at best. Between the long wait, the missing main course, the inconvenience of driving back, and being made to feel like I was the one mistaken, this was extremely disappointing. We will not be returning

Came into the Acworth restaurant and first thing I saw was a 100 A health score. Love that. Counter was neat and clean and the young person on the line greeted me from the line. That was sweet. The young person who cashiered was friendly and efficient. Never asked if I was eating in or taking but hey, perfection is overrated right? So I was packed to go but I was indeed eating in. I get it that way anyway because I can never finish all of my food. I got the two meat platter with an extra side and a drink for 23 bucks plus tip. So ribs, brisket. Potato salad, greens and Mac and cheese w Texas toast. Dining room- spotless. Bathroom- spotless I was checked on by a super nice young person named Ian while I ate. Really nice young human. No dessert for me again. Too stuffed. One day I'll get to try the banana pudding. Deep sigh.

Absolutely delighted that we accidentally found this small but cozy restaurant!…read more The food was delicious, fresh, full of Smokey flavor and the meat almost didn't need any BBQ sauce- it was just superb! I had the smoked pulled chicken sandwich with potato salad. My husband had the pulled pork sandwich- it was so good and definitely better than my chicken. Generous amounts of meat for both sandwiches. The potato salad was fresh, tasty and had crunchy celery. The chicken was good, but I'm definitely going for the pulled pork next time! We had the pleasure of meeting the owner- Paul, really nice and hospitable guy. Service was excellent. Ambiance was homey, cozy and restaurant was clean, smelled very good- like smoked meat. Prices were reasonable. We will definitely come back, even though my husband complained there are no French fries. Lol. Sorry, no pictures. Our appetite was worked up by the Smokey meat flavors lingering in the air and gobbled up our sandwiches before I realized we didn't take any pictures.

Thankfully it wasn't too busy and they were happy to push a couple of tables together in the add-on dining room. The staff worked together as a team to bring out the food quickly and they regularly checked in with us to clear empty plates and ensure we had everything we needed. I ordered the sampler and thought the ribs were the best. I also really like the Mac-n-cheese side dish and almost wished I'd order a second serving. Their version of coleslaw favors the vinegar while I'm more in the creamy sweet camp, but it was still nice. Their BBQ sauce has a noticeable heat, and they offer a selection of sauces to suit other tastes. The sausage is a mild variety with a mealy texture, and garnished with sautéed onions and bell peppers. The chicken, pulled pork, and brisket I would have preferred in a wetter style (they were NOT dry, just toward the dry side of the wet/dry scale) and the brisket was nicely marbled with a good crust. Plates were served with a thick slice of bread, pats of butter, and crunchy dill pickles slices.

We typically get the same three meat plate that you see here and rarely swerve for any other choices. We like what we like. The chicken was the best tonight because it was the juiciest out of the three meats. The Brisket and pork were good too but slightly drier. Not a problem for my wife, but I like my brisket fatty and juicy. The flavors were there. For the sides we ALWAYS get the green beans. These are some of the best green beans I've had anywhere. Same with the cole slaw. Always excellent. The staff are always very friendly and the food comes out quickly! It's counter service and they call your name when it's ready. There was one young man who hustled and met one of the guests half way. Great service! The restaurant is clean and well maintained and stocked with a nice rustic look with plenty of seating both indoors and outdoors. Plenty of space for large parties. Looks like they do a great catering menu as well and I wouldn't hesitate to feed a crowd with this delicious food. If you want consistency and quick service, you can't go wrong with City Barbeque. My navigation took me on a super convoluted route, so if you know where North Cobb Highschool is, they're located across the street from N Cobb Highschool's gym. When exiting to leave, there's no left turns so be forewarned, you might have to do some finagling to leave via Blue Springs. I may have missed it because I was so focused on nav, but I think the business park should get better signage (both at the street and once you turn in). If not for the Too Good To Go app, I would never have realized this business existed. They also opted to use one of those handwriting fonts for their logo so even the storefront signage can be a little hard to read from a distance - even with my 20/20 vision. Lol. Interior Clean, bright, well lit. Customer Service Five plus stars. The owner, Clay, reminded me of home (my small town hometown). Super friendly. Super welcoming. Super jovial. While I waited, I had the opportunity to chat with his lovely daughter, Breanna (sp?) and she was an absolute sweetheart. Price / Value They appear to have lots of affordably priced meals. The QRC on the postcard launches their website, versus a pdf of a traditional menu, so you kinda have to scroll through as though you're trying to place an order. I was lured in by some tasty looking pork chops and salmon in their Google photos. And the macaroni & cheese looked like the the kind I love. (This type of mac n cheese used to be called 'Southern custard style' but now it seems to be called Béchamel style or Greek Béchamel since a true Béchamel supposedly has no eggs. Whatever its called, I prefer it over the runny Velveeta style mac n cheese that has gotten so popular.) Food I mentioned the Too Good To Go App earlier. That's what brought me here. Unfortunately, I have a shellfish allergy and my 'Surprise Bag' was a shrimp dinner. I won't go into details here because I don't want others to give Mr. Clay a hard time if they find themselves in the same situation - but suffice it to say, Mr. Clay did his absolute best to not let me leave hungry. I did, ultimately, try some of the yellow rice and steamed veggies. I can safely say that the yellow rice is actual turmeric rice. Overall Even though I didn't get a chance to eat an actual meal, I wanted to make sure I posted a review with the hopes of providing breadcrumbs for others to find this hidden gem. If I had to list a negative, I'd just say that I think they'd benefit from an actual 'formal' menu. I'm 'old enough' that I find it somewhat frustrating to have to visit a 'web store' and click through as though I'm trying to place an order - versus looking at a menu with items grouped (ie meals, sandwiches, salads, sides, etc) and good descriptions. Several items show 'out of stock' or 'low stock.' I do like that they seem to have gone out of their way to post photos of food and provided descriptions in the 'featured menu items' section. I'll definitely be back to try the salmon, whiting, collard greens and macaroni & cheese.

Waters were left empty several times for extended periods of time. Additionally, staff will not provide you with the items you ordered - there were several times that we placed an order via the iPad provided, nothing would come out, and then we'd have to flag down our server to check. All that aside, food is great. The 2 real highlights are the beef belly and spicy beef bulgogi. Beef belly is so delicious and fatty - let it crisp up on the grill and just eat it without anything. It has a ton of flavor already. Make sure to order multiple beef belly at a time as the quantities are pretty small, and they could even smaller once cooked. The spicy beef bulgogi is also really delicious with a great marinade. The regular beef bulgogi is fine, nothing to complain about. The beef brisket is below average. Garlic shrimp is good if you're looking for that. Appetizer-wise I really like the chicken nuggets and fries here. The nuggets are quite reminiscent of a better version of McDonald's. The fries are fried a couple times and have great texture, crunch, and flavor. Make sure to make your own sauces at the sauce bar. I always recommend one sauce of sesame oil and salt. Make sure to just put a LITTLE sesame oil as you need to be able to get the salt on the meat as you eat it. Other than that sauce, go wild with your imagination! Value is outstanding here. For lunch, just Korean bbq or hotpot is $20.99. Dinner is $30.99. And if you want to do both bbq and hotpot, just add $5 to either total. If your birthday is within 3 days of your visit and you come in as a group of 4+, your meal is free. They are strict on the date being +\- 3 days. The sauce bar was fully stocked with lots of options. The additional side options were underwhelming, but we really came for the hot pot, so I can overlook that. There were plenty of options for hot pot meats, seafood, and veggies to choose from. The food was more than plentiful. In fact, I thought it might've actually been better if they gave a little less so we could try more. I loved the broth that I chose - (Korean). It was nice that they asked to refill the broth when it got low. Overall, a very positive experience here. The price was very reasonable for the amount of food you get. They have a birthday special if you bring 4 guests. We came close to my wife's birthday, but unfortunately it fell just short of the birthday window, which I think is 3 days before and after. I would definitely come again to try the Korean BBQ next time.
