The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is because I reeeaaalllyyyy wanted wings, but they were out! I went with the grilled chicken sandwich instead, and it was actually really good. The fries and okra were tasty, too. My mom and grandma ordered cheeseburgers and said they were great--very homemade-tasting. My stepdad tried the fried fish but wasn't a fan, said it had more of a muddy taste. The kids were happy with their hotdogs and fries. The inside has a cozy, mom-and-pop feel with lots of fun things to look at on the walls. You order at the counter and then pick up your food when they call your name. The woman taking our order didn't seem very enthusiastic or friendly, but maybe she was just having an off day. Overall, it's definitely worth a try if you're in the area! Great prices! read more

My husband and I both had Cheeseburgers and fries. It was good and we will be back . Service was good you go up to the counter and order then they call your name when it is finished but the lady behind the counter was kind enough to bring ours. Really good place. It's a neat, homey little place. Drinks are self-serve at the fountain with pitchers for tea. It's a mom-and-pop place, almost literally; most of the workers are family. They clearly knew several regulars. I've had fries, sweet potato fries, chicken tenders, and the burger. All were good; the burger was among the best I've had. The sweet potato fries were great, too. Maybe we hit this spot on the wrong day. Since I've only been here once, I want to be fair. The food was very average. Maybe the chef was having an off day. This place used to be a BBQ joint and then closed down for about 10 or so years. The new owners reopened about 3 years ago. The setup is cozy and warm, with a folksy atmosphere. There are approximately 10 tables and 2 booths, no outside seating. We were served by one of the owners, she was extremely polite and a local. The food was good. We ordered the fried green tomatoes as an appetizer, and they were just ok. The flavor was good, the tomatoes were proper texture and cooked perfect; wife and I both agreed we didn't like the batter that well, seems like flour and corn meal were mixed together. Some people like that, but we prefer more on the flour side. I chose the chili burger as my main course, wife had the grilled chicken sandwich, and we both enjoyed these items. The chili burger comes with choice of 1/4 or 1/2 lb size. I had the 1/4 lb chili burger, which has chili, diced onions, ketchup and mustard. I love the mustard and diced onions but don't care for ketchup on my chiliburger, so next time I'll order without ketchup. Tasted very good otherwise. Real handpaddied and cooked burger, not fake Walmart beef burgers. Wife said her grilled chicken sandwich was good, she asked for hers dipped in hotsauce, which they did no problem. There is a reason a little place like this, located on a highway in a mostly rural area, can be so successful. They have great food, great prices, very friendly people working there, and they have never made an error on any of my orders.
