Normally visit the Norcross location every time I visit Atlanta which is 2-3 times per year, first time at the Alpharetta location though. This is a nicer location not as busy as Norcross normally is. Food and service were good which was consistent with normal standards for Pappadeaux. read more

My family and I visited your location on Friday evening, August 14, 2026, after arriving in the area late from our flight. We have visited this location previously and had a great experience with both the service and food, so we were looking forward to returning while visiting the area. When we arrived, we noticed there was a large party being hosted in the private/back party room, which was nice to see that the restaurant is able to accommodate larger gatherings. Our waitress was also very kind, friendly, and attentive, and we appreciated her customer service throughout our visit. There were, however, a few concerns we wanted to bring to management's attention. First, we noticed several desserts sitting off to the side behind us that appeared to be uncovered. We are not sure whether these desserts had been prepared in advance for customers to order, but if that was the case, we strongly recommend that they remain properly covered or protected at all times. With customers and employees walking nearby and insects potentially flying around the restaurant, leaving uncovered desserts exposed does not appear sanitary or appropriate for food service. We also experienced an issue with the temperature of some of our food. Two of our seafood dishes arrived only semi-warm rather than hot and fresh. We ordered the Pappadeaux Platter with stuffed shrimp and fries. Unfortunately, the fries were cold, and the seafood on top was only lukewarm. This was particularly disappointing because we were looking forward to enjoying the seafood while visiting the restaurant. I ordered the grilled chicken with mashed potatoes and broccolini, and my entire meal arrived hot. Because my meal was served at the appropriate temperature, we were confused as to why the other dishes were not. We understand that different items may require different preparation times, but customers should receive their complete meals hot and fresh. Our suggestion would be to coordinate the timing of the food preparation, particularly with items such as fries, so that they are prepared as close to serving time as possible. Food should ideally arrive at the table hot and fresh rather than having one component become cold while waiting for the other items to be completed. We did bring the issue to our waitress's attention, and she was very accommodating and provided a $12 credit toward the fries. We appreciated her effort to address the concern. However, the credit did not change the fact that my husband and daughter were unable to fully enjoy their seafood dishes because the food was not served hot. We are sharing this feedback because we have visited this location before and had a great experience, so we know the restaurant is capable of providing excellent food and service. Our goal is simply to bring these concerns to management's attention so they can be reviewed with the appropriate staff. Thank you for taking the time to review our experience. We hope our feedback is helpful and that future visits will provide the quality of food, presentation, sanitation, and service that we experienced during our previous visit. read more

Pappadeaux's remains a favorite in Atlanta! The seafood is flown in daily and always tastes fresh. Every bite feels like a plate of New Orleans. The crawfish étouffée is a favorite, as are the Redfish and Grouper Creole. We recently celebrated my nephew's birthday there, and the cheesecake was the perfect sweet treat to end the meal. Great food, great flavors, always excellent service and a memorable celebration! read more

Attended a birthday dinner at this location. My first time eating at this restaurant. Service was good.I decided to go with the restaurant week option 3 course meal for $45. For appetizer, I ordered the gumbo. It had good flavor and right amount of spice. For entree I went with the rainbow trout and lump crab it came with butternut squash. The rainbow trout was good but a bit oily. The crab meat was flavorful and the butternut squash was good as well. For dessert. I had the vanilla cheesecake it was good and creamy and generous slice. I'd definitely try this restaurant again. read more

Pappadeaux is the Absolute Best Seafood Restaurant in Atlanta. Our family has been dining at the Alpharetta Location for 25 to 30 years. The food is extremely fresh, portions are very large, and the taste is great. The Fried Shrimp are consistently fresh, huge, and the best anywhere. We usually order a fried shrimp dish as an appetizer just to make sure everyone gets to have a couple. The seafood here is just as good as on the coast in Florida. If you haven't eaten here, I truly feel sorry for you. P.S. I'm always amazed by the beautiful flowers and plants surrounding the Alpharetta restaurant. Last weekend, we took family pictures in the parking lot with the beautiful landscape in the background. Inside the spacious restaurant there is a casual vibe with well done eclectic architecture and decoration. read more

I love Pappadeaux!! Ever since I was a young girl my aunt would bring me here after church on Sundays or shopping at the mall so my mind always associated the comfort food and amazing atmosphere to good times! This most recent visit did not disappoint. Lately I've been advocating for a new location in Nashville but this is as close as I could get. We came on a Sunday afternoon before I hit the road to return home! Our server was attentive but obviously trying to up sell us at every opportunity though we came in knowing what we wanted. He was kind but pushy in a comical way. The strawberry lemonade was phenomenal as well as my favorite the Mardi Gras Pasta. This was as close as I could get to Louisiana for the weekend and I am looking forward to coming back soon! read more

Huge portions, good food and good service. What more can you want besides the lobster tank with the giant lobster in it? Makes me miss those times when Walmart had the fresh lobster in the tank. The apps were good, I got the Pasta Mardi Gras as my entree it was decent with a huge portion. I liked the inside looking like a ship, parking is free at this location. read more

Late lunch at Pappadeaux which was my first time here. Came for the chargrilled oysters and they were out, which was a bummer. Calamari was good and crispy. The crab & spinach dip was just okay.I can't remember the name of my entrée (it was a specialty item) but the crusted sea bass over spinach and tomatoes in a buttery sauce...A winner! Bartenders were super nice and made me a custom drink that hit. I'd come back. read more

I took my friend here for her birthday. At first, I almost suggested going somewhere else because of my previous bad experience.. But I am so glad I didn't because this was an amazing dining experience. The server Kenny made it amazing! We ordered the Pappadeaux Seafood platter and it was so delicious! I had everything we wanted: Fried shrimp, fried clams, stuffed crab and popcorn shrimp. The dining area we sat in was sunny and a nice quiet corner so we could hear each other and catch up. We are thinking of going back for MY birthday! read more

Customer Service was decent. We were one of the first customers who of the day and they were out of many items. We ended up with a bunch of add on items on our bill because every time we asked for something they were out of they countered by offer another item. Very disappointing experience. The loaded potato used to have a candied bacon which really was the star of the show. They no longer have that and the potato was just bland and fell flat. Upon getting out check, we hand the waiter our card, the receipt he bought back showed he ran out card for a higher price. We got the manager and the waiter had charged an additional salad to our tab after bringing the receipt for our correct order. I honestly don't have a need to return. Clean establishment very spacious. Helpful staff. Underwhelming experience. I've dined at most Pappadeaux locations throughout the US and this location was the least pleasant experience. Garlic bread and fried food was good. The fried oyster were tough in some spots. Brownie appeared over cooked in texture/taste. Dirty rice had no flavor. Stuffed shrimp and stuffed crab were amazing. read more

OMG, this Pappadeaux restaurant is by far the biggest restaurant I have been to since visiting the ones in Dallas. Alpharetta doesn't offer outdoor seating like the ones in Dallas do. My shrimp étouffée was so delicious and flavorful. It had the all the right cajun spices that hit the spot. The shrimp to rice ratio was perfect. It was a very quiet but early dinner before leaving Atlanta back to Cali. Our server was super nice. I would definitely come back and try more entrees at this restaurant if I ever make it back this way again. read more

A group of about 10 of us went in last night, we had reservations and were seating right away. We had Niiya as our server and she was awesome! Very friendly, and fun. She was fast and very attentive without being overbearing. Everyone had a great time here! I had the filet and it was ok, not the best steak ever for sure, but everyone that had a seafood dish absolutely loved it. Pappadeaux is NEVER a bad idea. Never. Yet, we rarely venture to this Alpharetta location. We did this weekend, however, for my daughter's birthday dinner. She was turning 4 and wanted to wear a fancy dress. After considering plenty of other restaurants in the metro area, we landed on old faithful. Pappadeaux has food the whole family can enjoy, a dedicated children's menu, and offers an atmosphere where one could safely dress up or come more casual without feeling out of place. The experience did not disappoint. Our waitress was great and everyone enjoyed their food. We were offered a free dessert for the birthday girl and chose the banana pudding. It comes in a large mason jar, so everyone was able to get a small serving that more than sufficient for our party of 5. As a note, for anyone who has been a longtime Pappadeaux customer: the menu continues to shift while keeping several popular staples. The seafood Cobb salad is one of my go-to menu items. So, I really happy the waitress let me know of the changes so that we could customize my salad if needed. The big changes are (1) this served with a wedge instead of a lettuce mix , and (2) comes with a French dressing rather than the creamy vinaigrette. read more

Amanda has definitely been one of the best servers that I have come across in such a long-time. Refreshing customer service, top tier and she has definitely raised the bar. She is an, excellent representation of the Pappadeaux's brand! Somebody give this lady a raise as soon as possible! Her recommendation for the snapper was simply amazing! The service was top tier, the food was top tier, and the drinks were delicious. You can ask for much more everything was cross t and every I was dotted. I highly recommend this location. And if you don't do anything else make sure you ask for Amanda!! You will never be disappointed with her I promise! We have been coming here for over twenty years and anytime we try new seafood restaurants for a change, it always brings us back to Pappadeaux. They have a great menu, attentive staff. They used to be considered on the higher end until restaurants popped up and charge double. Well, we've tried those with tempting facebook & Instagram feeds - the pictures are better than their food. Each time we go elsewhere we have regret. This place is consistently GREAT food, the add new things to the menu, cooked perfectly at a reasonable price especially these days! Bravo. Great job. read more

Sunday brunch, easy in and out. Parking was a breeze...we were seated immediately. We were able to grab one of the booths in the bar, which is always preferred. I had the Cobb salad, skipped the creole dressing and opted for their creamy vinaigrette (a favorite). Salad was a touch wet, I imagine as a result of them washing the greens which is always a welcome practice. Primary issues is a watery salad has a tendency to dilute the flavor of the other ingredients. I recommend ensuring your greens are at least dry before you add the other ingredients. Mom had the Atlantic salmon and a baked potato, both which were delicious and flavorful. Service was excellent, it's always better in the bar;) While we enjoyed the playlist, the volume made it difficult to carry on a conversation without continuously having to repeat ourselves. An overall decent experience considering Pappadeaux's is chain restaurant. read more

I was recently here with my best friend and her mom for a late Saturday lunch. We had a reservation so when we arrived, we didn't have to wait long to be seated. This location is nice and really large! I loved the open views especially during our rainy visit. Our server, Taj was ok. Not the greatest service but it wasn't the worse. I felt like he was just going through the motions and not really present in the moment. For starters we shared the fried calami and octopus. This was a good dish but slightly salty. We also shared a brownie dessert which was yummy! We all ordered something different for our entrees. I really enjoyed my trout and grilled shrimp dish. Served with truffle potatoes. I also had a glass of Sauvignon Blanc. Very overpriced for 8 oz ($20)!!! The food portion size was huge and I definitely enjoyed leftover once I got back to Alabama. I haven't had Pappadeaux in a number of years. I can see myself eating here again. Hopefully with better service. read more

I always have a great time coming here. The service is always top notch, and the food is always freshly prepared and delicious. My favorite appetizer is the Gator Bites (ADDICTIVELY delicious - a large portion, crispy fried goodness without being oily, and I LOVE the dipping sauce), and my favorite entree is the Filet Oscar (the filet is perfectly seasoned, cooked exactly to my liking and still juicy, and the lump cream meat on top is the Perfect Compliment). The host took our family to a table that had someone else's eaten salad still sitting. We asked for this to be removed and the host tells us "someone else will grab it." The plate sat on our table for 3 minutes as our group was coming in and we asked a second time for the plate to be removed, "someone else will get it." We then asked a third time as our entire group showed up, "someone else will grab it." I had to take the plate off our table before staff decided it was worthwhile getting rid of. The food was also not seasoned well whatsoever. I ordered a shrimp po'boy, which they did not cut in half so I am supposed to hold a 10 inch sandwich, and it was the most bland thing I've ever tasted. Server was bothered that I asked for the sandwich to be cut in half. 0/10, will never go again and will actively recommend against this restaurant. read more

We had an awesome experience celebrating my birthday. Justin was our server and he was on point. He was super attentive and offered suggestions. The restaurant wasn't crowded on a Saturday evening. They finally brought back the crab cake. It didn't disappoint. The alligator was just ok. I prefer their original alligator app. My salmon Alexander was perfectly seared and topped with crawfish, shrimp, and scallops. The collard greens were just ok. They were a bit crunchy and cooked work sliced onions and turnips. I wouldn't order them again. I enjoyed the key lime pie for dessert. read more

Love the spacious atmosphere here and service was good and friendly. As for the food, it was hit or miss. The fried seafood platter was good, especially the crab balls with real crab meat. The french fries were good, but not outstanding. $39.00 for this entree seemed a bit steep considering half of it was fries and didn't come with soup or salad. Likewise, the Rosemary Chicken didn't come with soup or salad, but the chicken presentation was quite nice and appetizing to look at. The chicken was cooked nicely with a slight crisp to the skin and generally moist and tender though the breast meat could have been better if brined to retain moisture and tenderness. Overall though, it was good enough to order again in the future. The accompanying sausage red beans and rice were disappointing lacking flavor and spice. The red beans were quite watery as well. I was expecting this to be more enjoyable than it was; Copelands serves a much better version of the red beans and rice. Overall, a good meal largely attributed to atmosphere and decent food. Will certainly return but not often as it is overpriced for what you get. read more

It's reassuring to know some restaurants haven't compromised food quality despite having to cope with inflation and lackluster sales. While the sky-high prices at Pappadeaux defy all comprehension, if one orders prudently and without extravagance, the customer can still have a decent meal at a price that may dent the bank but won't break it. The ability to order from the lunch menu during dinner hours is a plus. There aren't many restaurants that permit this. Our server was extremely friendly and accommodating. He most assuredly contributed to making the dining experience special. A couple of items that could benefit from some process improvement: The tap water filter (if there is one) could use replacement. The restaurant temperature was uncomfortably cold. I suggest being on the lookout for a telltale ceiling vent and steering clear of it if you have a sensitivity to overactive air conditioning. The ambient noise level can also be an issue, even when the restaurant is only marginally busy. If a quiet environment is a must, select a seat strategically. Pappadeax Seafood Kitchen is one of the very few restaurants (about 1 in 10) I would consider returning to. read more

Food was good. Service at bar was mediocre at best. Would definitely recommend the one in Marietta instead.

The service was really good here. I did not get our servers name but he kept all our drinks filled, cleared plates as they were empty and checked in often. I had red snapper with sautéed spinach. The spinach was undercooked, the stems were still crunch. The red snapper was very small. I actually left hungry. After a$52 bill i was very unhappy. I have been visiting Pappa's restaurants for the past 35 years. I have been visiting this particular Pappadeaux location for the past 15 years. My experiences have always been good or great. My most recent visit, by far, is the worst experience at a Pappa's restaurant. It was New Year's Eve and I had a 7:45 reservation. I arrived around 7:40 and checked in to be told that they were running behind. The restaurant was only about 60% full so either they did not have enough servers, they overbooked, or patrons were sitting longer than normal. I was called to the stand at 8:15 to be seated. My server was friendly and perhaps the best thing about the experience. My appetizers were great. When my entree (seafood platter) arrived, everything looked fine. As I looked closer at my stuffed shrimp, it looked undercooked on the outside. As I dug into it, I noticed that there was a raw, uncooked, shrimp on the inside. I stopped eating and called my server. He promptly took the plate away and told me he would replace it and that the manager would stop by. After about five minutes, the manager came by. She asked did I send some food back. I told her YES and she wanted details. I asked if she talked to the server and she advised that she was busy and did not know what happened. I explained that my food was undercooked. She apologized and told me she would comp my entree and to have a dessert on her. About five minutes later, a new plate came out. Some items were replaced with new items but the stuffed shrimp and crab were cooked very hard. It appeared that my food was just cooked longer and my stuffed shrimp was mangled. I ate a little and asked the server to bring me a to go box as I had been at the restaurant longer than anticipated. I also ordered my dessert to go. When I received my check, I had been charged for my entree twice and comped for one of them. My dessert had not been comped. I asked the server to confirm that my check was correct. He took my check and came back this time the dessert was comped. I went ahead and paid my check but asked to see the manager again. This time, she would not come by. He told me he had told her four times to come by and he could not control what she does. After totaling my check out and waiting another five minutes or so, I went to the manager to speak with her. She told me she was still working on my check. I let her know that I had totaled my check out. She advised that she could still make adjustments to my check after I left. I will not return to this location until this situation is either resolved or there is new management. If I rated this place purely on the management, it would be one star. Given the quality of my entrees, drinks, and server, I am rating this place two stars. read more

We arrived right around noon on a Sunday and were seated immediately. Shortly after we arrived it started to fill up pretty quickly, and by the time we left there was a wait. Just thought I'd mention that because we were super happy we didn't have to wait. Our sever was pleasant, professional and accommodating. We were pleased with what we ordered. My family had a giftcard for Pappadeaux so we decided to go for a weekend dinner. There's plenty of parking out front and we were seated pretty quickly. The service was a little slow and we hadn't been to Pappadeaux in ages, so we were a little shocked by how pricey it's gotten! I had a beer (there wasn't a lot of choices on tap) and for dinner I had the shrimp and grits. I loved the size of the shrimp and the flavor was pretty good. The bread service was delicious, and my family also ordered Pasta Mardi Gras, Crawfish Etouffee, and the Pontchartrain. Overall, the food was pretty good, but I'll be honest, there's better Cajun food elsewhere in Alpharetta for a more reasonable price. We also received the Shrimp Etouffee instead of the Crawfish Ettouffee which was still delicious, but frustrating from a service perspective. Last Saturday in Atlanta we decided on Pappadeux's for dinner. After being met with a two-hour wait at the Windy Hill Road location, I immediately made reservations at the Alpharetta location, about a 20-minute drive away. We arrived just in time for our reservation. With only an hour left before closing, the hostess graciously cleared a table for us, so we were seated promptly. It wasn't nearly as packed as the other location, but it was still lively. We started with the Crispy Alligator appetizer. It wasn't exactly mind-blowing, but it was definitely tasty and fresh. No "wow" factor, but we enjoyed it. The star of the evening was the Mississippi Catfish Opelousas. The dish caught my attention when our friendly and professional server, the guy sporting neatly covered Locks, recommended it after my request for a seafood suggestion. Blackened catfish, oysters, shrimp, and jumbo lump crab, garlic butter sauce with a side of dirty rice. Absolute foodie bliss. My husband opted for the Seafood Platter without oysters. He was satisfied with his choice. Sometimes simple is best. Now the drinks...ugh. I don't know if the regular bartenders were on vacation or what, but those drinks were watered down upon arrival and just plain disappointing. It's a shame when the libations fall flat, but we didn't let it ruin our night. I ordered the creme brûlée to go. I'll give it a 10. It was on par with the creme brûlée at The Capital Grille, which is exceptional. All in all, it was a pleasant experience. This wasn't my first visit and it surely won't be my last. Stopped past this location after completing some Holiday shopping. There was no wait which was surprisingly for a Friday night. There was two security guards in front which made us feel safe leaving our recently purchased gifts in our car. We went in and was seated immediately. We opted for a booth in the bar area and our server who was also the bartender was attentive to us throughout our entire dining experience. We started our meal with artichoke spinach and crab dip that's served with toasted broiled points. This dish comes out in a ramekin served piping hot. It doesn't come with a ton of crab meat but it is very tasty, and enough to serve 2-3 adults. I tried order the special which was a tile fish topped with grilled shrimp, crab meat and lemon butter sauce served with truffled potatoes and I added a side of spinach. My dining companion ordered a bowl of seafood gumbo and a blackened catfish meal with red beans and rice. We were extremely pleased with all of the entrees, the service and being able to be seated without a reservation This location might be my favorite of all the locations. read more
