Love this restaurant! Very elegant ambiance. The octopus appetizer and the sea bass were both delicious gluten free dishes. Our server was friendly and very competent, despite being very busy. Would recommend!

It was good, but not as good as I thought it would be. The mushroom ravioli was as delicious as expected. Drinks were mostly good, particularly the one that tastes like mint chocolate chip ice cream. Caesar salad was unique and high quality, but the dressing was lacking in my opinion. The octopus that everyone raves about was good and extremely tender, but too oily. Idk...I had been looking forward to going here for years and it just didn't live up to the hype for me. Service was good. Not overbearing, friendly.

Great place! Traveled for work and sat at the bar. The inside is nice but can get really loud. The bartender was fantastic and very knowledgeable. I enjoyed the two dishes I ate, the octopus more so than the mushroom ravioli. The octopus was incredibly tender with a crispy outside and the flavor was spectacular. The mushroom truffle ravioli was also very good but it was incredibly rich and I couldn't eat all 4. I'm looking forward to returning to try the schnitzel and scallops. I'd definitely recommend this place for a fun night out with great food.

Family owned restaurant with great atmosphere with a few delicious vegetarian options. Superb service and great drinks. The mushroom ravioli was very different than the traditional ravioli. Worth trying.

    Spanish Octopus, Bread, Cocktails

Unique, delicious food and drinks in Alpharetta. I came here with my sister on a Saturday night - we made reservations, so we were seated as soon as we walked up. Our waiter was attentive and nice, offering suggestions as this was our first time. We both ordered cocktails - both delicious - and we split the Spanish Octopus and the Bread. For food, I got the mushroom ravioli which was unlike any dish I had ever had. The ravioli literally melted in my mouth, it was soo good. Highly recommend!

Came here for an small birthday celebration and it was such an amazing experience. The waitstaff were all extremely friendly and were very knowledgeable about the menu. We ordered the bread service, The Grey Fox (spirit free beverage), Gulf Crab and Spaghetti, and Grilled Hanger Steak Au Poivre. They do have a rotating seasonal menu, so some of these items may not be there the next time we go unfortunately. The bread was super fresh and loved the butter and oil that came with it. The Grey Fox was refreshing and was good, but didn't particularly stand out to me as a mocktail. Their entrees really impressed me, well balanced out flavours and perfect portion sizes. It's always so rare to find a place that'll have just enough food to where you're full but not over stuffed or hungry. For dessert, we decided on the ice cream. Their seasonal flavours that we selected when we went were a mango sorbet and orange ice cream and was plated on a bed of slightly salted shortbread crumble. Super refreshing and just a perfect way to end the night. Overall, an awesome experience and we hope to come back for another special occasion!

I forgot the name of this dessert but it has Rhubarb in it. It was delicious!

Cocktails were delicious and strong. Food was pretty tasty, although the octopus had something that was a bit too salty in it... When you eat all of the components together it is not that bad. The burger was nice yet the pickled onions were a bit overpowering so use them sparingly if you plan to put it in your burger. The rhubarb dessert was my favorite. Unfortunately I do not remember the name of it! My absolute favorite cocktail that is hard to find in a lot of places was offered as a dessert cocktail, and it was the perfect amount of minty + sweet. Very light and refreshing cocktail (Grasshopper). I would say the prices are pretty reasonable for all of the food and drinks we ordered. Very high quality ingredients. The staff were nice but our waitress was kind of standoff-ish. She would not really look anyone in the eye or smile. She was very nice though! Would definitely come back here.

Love this place! Loved it when it was in East Roswell and love it now in Alpharetta. Can't believe I hadn't left a review before, guess it's true we take for granted the things we love. Anyways, the interior is amazing and an aesthetically pleasing gem for your eyes to feast on before the food arrives and the belly can have its feast. Bolognese. A MUST order every time! Did a split order with my date so we could eat more other foods. More foods = better. It is a mouth dream come true of sensations and feels. Trust me on this! Usually my first go to is the Spanish octopus. By far the best I've had anywhere, ever. This time we opted for the fish tin and escargot instead. The fish tins are fun and a different spin and we enjoyed them. Might need to come back and try all the fish options in the future! The escargot was a nice mix up from the traditional dish but man, nothing slaps like that Spanish octopus! While the burger was very tasty, I want to take this opportunity to be pedantic and say it should really be called a patty melt. There, I said it. My only negative of FSE is the labeling of one of the food items on the menu and nothing else, there are no other negatives! It's all beautifully crafted and delicious and thus 5 stars.

The place is visually beautiful. Big open bar, and open kitchen concept where you can see them cookin it up! Everything and I mean everything was decadent. You can't go wrong with anything that you get, whether it's the drinks or the food. The service was great. Everyone is so nice and welcoming!

We saw Foundation Social Eatery at the Alpharetta Farmer's Market a few weeks ago. They had a sign for a gluten free cookie, but when we asked for one, they said they already sold out. But they said they had many other gluten free desserts at their restaurant. My wife made a 6pm reservation for Father's Day. First time eating at this location In Alpharetta. We had a delicious brunch at the other location in Roswell a few years ago, which is now closed. This location doesn't serve brunch, only dinner. There was plenty of parking behind the restaurant. We arrived on time and were promptly seated. The interior is nice. They brought over many design elements from the previous location. I'm normally a beer guy, but decided to order a specialty drink called the Old Dogwood. It was good. My wife doesn't really drink, so she tried a mocktail called the Phony Negroni. She didn't like it. My daughter, who turned 21 earlier this year tasted it and liked it, so she drank it. My son drank water. We didn't order appetizers. We just ordered our entrees. I ordered the Chilean Sea Bass special, which tasted good, but I thought it was kind of small for $45 and needed a side of veggies, like asparagus or green beans. My wife ordered the Hokkaido Scallops. She also thought her meal was small. It was just 3 scallops for $41. My son ordered the East Coast Rock Shrimp. He said it had a good taste but he also thought the portion was small. My daughter had the FSE Burger. She thought the fries were really good, but that the burger was oily and she didn't like that it was on sliced bread instead of a bun. We ordered dessert. My son ordered the Pot de Creme, and both my daughter and I ordered the gluten free Opera Cake. This was the only gluten free dessert option on Father's day. My wife and son really liked the Pot de Creme. I liked the Opera Cake (except for the rock salt on top), but my daughter said she really didn't like it, so I ate hers (scraping off the salt). I think the Opera Cake had caffeine in it because I don't drink caffeine and I wasn't able to sleep. After arriving home, both my son and I were still kind of hungry and had cake and ice cream. Overall, I'd say our dinner was just ok, hence 3 out of 5 stars. We paid a lot ($250 with tip) for an ok dinner, which is disappointing.

    Non-alcoholic earl grey drink

Foundation Social Eatery is a lively establishment teeming with great staff, superb food, and overall a fun vibe. If you're soft spoken, it's time to get out of your comfort zone! The first thing we noted as we were being sat to our table was that is was pretty noisy - not deafening but fairly substantial. Our server (I believe her name was Aly/Ali?) was phenomenal. She provided us with great recommendations, and as a vegetarian, noted that a lot of the menu can be accommodated for dietary restrictions - bonus points! I ended up going with the Mushroom ravioli which tasted great. It was kind of soupy/had a broth that was very flavourful and while it may not seem like a large portion size for some of the more volume eaters, it was just enough with it being paired with the bread service and a drink from the bar. Speaking of the drink, I ordered an amaretto sour - while it wasn't my favorite, I must give props for the bartenders to make it the right way with egg whites and bourbon/whiskey - most places opt those ingredients out. My girlfriend ordered a non-alcoholic earl grey mocktail, which she said she liked - she wasn't blown away with it but she noted it was refreshing. As for my girlfriend's entree, she ordered the beef braised sugo, which she loved. She said it was flavorful and a large portion (for her). We opted out of dessert as we were pretty full but also didn't feel like passing the $100 dinner threshold for two as the prices are fairly high here. Overall, we had a pleasant experience and hope we can make a return visit with some friends sometime soon.

    Pork Schnitzel
    Lorie D.

Presentation and service were very good and overall great ambience. I strongly recommend the crisp Spanish octopus. The flavors were savory and octopus texture was perfection. The pork schnitzel was not what we expected but was very tasty. The confit ribs were a bit on the salty side but still very good. I look forward to returning and trying additional menu items.

So when Alpharetta opened, I was ready. Let's start with what they got right. The ambiance is absolutely beautiful. It's giving upscale, classy, a little loud but still grown and sexy. You can tell it's meant to feel expensive. And I do love a good valet moment right at the front... makes the night start off smooth. Now... this birthday dinner situation. We had a reservation for 9 and somehow ended up split into separate booths across what felt like multiple sections. For a birthday? That's just not it. Especially when I'm looking around seeing other parties our size seated together with no issue. There was even additional seating that was never offered to us. The service felt just as scattered as the seating. Our server was kind but clearly overwhelmed. Because we were split up, everything came out disorganized... and I mean full chaos. Entrées before salads, appetizers hitting at different times, and one person never received their appetizer at all. That's not the experience you expect here. Now let's talk food... because this is where I really had to pause. I ordered my steak medium. It came out rare. Okay, mistakes happen... but when it came back, it was extra well done. And I'm sorry, at a steakhouse? That's just unacceptable. That should be the one thing you get right every time. Now I will absolutely give credit where it's due. The wedge salad? Delicious. Fresh, crisp, and that blue cheese dressing with the crumbles... divine. The lobster tail was also really good, no complaints there. The Brussels sprouts, though, were undercooked and just didn't land. Overall, the flavors just didn't hit the way I know this brand can. It lacked that consistency I've experienced before, and that was disappointing. I did speak with a manager and they were gracious and invited me back, which I appreciate. And I'm going to be fair... they are newly opened, so I'll give them some time to tighten things up. But right now? It's a no for me on the overall experience. I'd still recommend checking it out for the ambiance and potential, but if you're going, just know they've got some things to get together first. I'll revisit... just not anytime soon.

I ordered the Greggah lobster roll warm with their mustard sauce. It came on a top-loaded, buttery toasted bun filled with warm, fresh lobster. Absolute perfection. I also had the crab balls, calamari, and a house salad. The crab balls had a nice spice without going overboard and were served with a flavorful house-made sauce. The calamari was cooked well done, just how I like it--crispy, tender, and not rubbery at all. The sweet and hot sauce they serve it with is divine. The Louie sauce is my personal favorite. They make almost everything from scratch in-house, including the sauces and their slaw. The slaw is cool, creamy, tangy, and sweet--exactly like the kind I grew up eating. The house salad was generously portioned and full of crisp, fresh ingredients, all clearly prepped in-house. I came back the next day for lunch and caught the house-made clam strips special. I got the clam strip basket with sautéed vegetables--same side I had the night before because they were that good. The vegetables are crisp and vibrant, not mushy or overcooked like you sometimes get elsewhere. I also had a cup of clam chowder that was thick, creamy, and packed with flavor. You can taste the coast in every bite. The chain was founded in Carolina Beach, North Carolina, and it still carries that same coastal character. The staff here--bartenders and servers alike--are extremely friendly and helpful, which just adds to the overall experience.
