My boyfriend booked a birthday reservation this past weekend, and the staff made the evening feel incredibly special. We were surprised with a birthday card signed by staff and fresh flowers, which was such a thoughtful touch. It was our first time dining at Oak, and our server, Zuri, was fantastic. He took the time to explain the different cuts of steak and recommend some of the most popular sides, which we really appreciated. We started with the bread service. I loved the touch of salt on top of the roll--it was actually my favorite part. For our appetizer, we ordered the calamari, which came with artichokes, cherry peppers, garlic butter, and sweet chili sauce. As someone who loves artichokes, I especially enjoyed those bites, and the overall flavor was good. That said, the sweet chili became a bit overwhelming toward the end of the dish. One additional detail I loved about the calamari was the cheesecloth wrapped around the lemon. It was such a thoughtful touch, and it's the kind of small detail that really elevates the dining experience. For our entrée, we shared the 12 oz. Filet Mignon cooked medium, along with the mac and cheese and the Brussels sprouts and cauliflower (without the red onion, cilantro, or sweet chili). The chef kindly sliced the steak for us, but it arrived a little too rare for my preference. The staff quickly corrected it, and to make up for it, they also brought us a side of cream corn, which was absolutely delicious. Overall, everything tasted great. For dessert, we were treated to a complimentary panna cotta, which was a lovely surprise. We also ordered the S'mores Baked Alaska--a brownie topped with graham cracker and ice cream, covered in meringue, then set ablaze with bourbon. The presentation was amazing and definitely a highlight of the evening. The flavor was good, although it was a bit difficult to cut into, which made it slightly less enjoyable for me. My boyfriend, however, loved it. The ambiance was wonderful. The booth seating felt intimate and comfortable, and I enjoyed the open-kitchen concept. Overall, I had a very pleasant experience. Oh my goodness we've got two baskets at the table and I believe we took some home. The bread is delicious. Obviously we ate them so fast I didn't even take a picture. For our mains, we both decided on the oak burger and we both added the delicious thick cut meats of bacon and oh my goodness the fries. Our server was absolutely amazing. This is a great date or business style restaurant. First of all, it is located at the Avalon, which is one of the best locations in the Atl. The interior is very classy and calm. Perfect for having a nice dinner and a conversation. The staff is very friendly, professional and knowledgeable. We got some stellar recommendations from our waiter and a great attitude to go along with it. I was at a business dinner, so we got to try a variety of things. Rarely do I come across high end restaurant that is fully deserving of one star review. Oak Steakhouse is definitively a one star establishment. As I live in Avalon - I was looking forward to trying this place out. I made reservation and showed up with my guests one Friday night. First off - interior looks nice. I like the all wood interior look. Ladies at the front door were not very friendly... I ordered a bottle of wine and server managed to spill it right away. We ordered salads which were fine but were served in soup bowls. After salad the server brought two slices of bread for the three of us. I just didn't get this.... I ordered pork chop and my guests ordered steak and seabass. These orders took a while and then some, with no excuses or explanation provided from the staff. Pork chop was the worst I ever had. It was bland,completely devoid of taste and made raw while I asked for medium. It was completely awful. I sent it back and told them I am not paying for that. Manager came to see me and addressed me as "boss" - i suppose he never went through hospitality training!!! Seabass was drowned in butter, and not very good. Steak was good, but nothing out of the ordinary. All in all - I can very comfortably say Oak Steakhouse is awful. What a wonderful evening! This oaky environment made us feel so cozy and comfortable. Candles illuminated the dining room along with dimmed lighting. Romantic... Prior you or dinner I called and made reservations for us and shared that this was a birthday dinner. Took the wife out for her birthday dinner with our kids, we wanted to celebrate early with a few cocktails at the bar. The drinks were incredibly tasty and potent. Not that I am complaining. At all... lol After an hour of romancing and talking the kids show and then our table was ready. We were promptly situated in the middle of the restaurant. Which I don't mind, I like watching the busy line execute dinners for the patrons. We were briefed quickly about the specials and we opted to start with the seafood tower. Shrimp, oysters, and Oysters Rockefeller were included. Everything was great but the Rockefeller was a bit too creamy almost too much mayonnaise and zero anise flavor. Moving on to the entrees, I ordered the house ribeye, son ordered the NY Strip, daughter ordered the prosciutto wrapped scallops, and then we got some sides as well. A plate of roasted butternut squash (4) and a dish of pommes puree. Both were OK. The entrees were great, son said the NY was incredibly juicy as he likes his meat medium I prefer medium rare. The scallops were good I felt it had a touch too much salt since the prosciutto already was a salty item they could pare back on the knee jerk salting of the entrees. Moving on tot the deserts which was a tray of desserts offered for the evening, we got a delightful birthday card signed by the staff and the tray came with four delicious items. Apple pie donut holes, chocolate covered vanilla panna cotta, crème brûlée, and a pair of sugar cookies. All delish and all gone. We were wrapping up with the bill and were wished well by a few servers. When we departed I said good night to the hostesses who were great, they gave me an apple crumb cake to take home that was next to the stand, they were all portioned out wrapped and ready to be taken home. We had a fantastic dinner at Oak Steakhouse. Everything we ordered was excellent. The filet with horseradish was tender and perfectly cooked, and the French onion soup had great depth without feeling heavy. The prime NY strip with caramelized shallot was another standout. The sides were just as strong. The beef tallow frites were crisp, the creamed corn was rich and comforting, and the mushrooms were fantastic. The mac and cheese was good, but if we had to choose between the sides we ordered, it's the one we could have skipped. We shared a bottle of Charles Krug that was recommended by our server and paired well with the meal. The ambiance added to the experience. The dining room is dimly lit, with warm stained wood throughout and an open‑kitchen layout. Even with some of the tables set fairly close together, it never felt cramped or intrusive. Our server, David, made the night even better. He was attentive without hovering and offered thoughtful recommendations that ended up being spot‑on. However on this night the special was a lobster tail mixed with crab meat and drizzled in a lemon sauce. I mean how could you pass that up?!? Pulling up to the front of the restaurant is complementary valet and the huge wooden door that welcomes you inside is beautiful and dramatic. We were seated immediately after checking in with the hostess. Walking through the restaurant is that dark steakhouse feel but we were brought to a room located in the back of the restaurant that was decorated with wine! How fun! Our server David was amazing! We were so excited to try most items on the menu and he pointed us in the best direction for ordering. For starters: Lobster bisque A+ - did not lack nice chunks of lobster and the broth was creamy and smooth and very well seasoned! Sea scallops, A+++ - seared absolutely perfectly, and the inside glistened that when you took a bite out of it, it melted in your mouth! Crabcakes A+ - definitely not the best I have ever had however, I appreciate a crabcake that is well seasoned, and has less fillers as this one did. Now it was time to order our entrées. Every time I see Wagyu steak on the menu I'm highly intrigued and so I decided to go for it and of course what is surf without the turf? Just like Batman needs Robin, it needed the lobster tail. Now, when I tell you, this might have been the biggest lobster tail that I have ever seen. I didn't know who was the star of the show! After biting into the Wagyu, it was clear that the meat was of high-quality. my only wish is that the fat cap was rendered a little bit longer. The lobster meat was steamed to perfection. We were all pleased with our entrées selections all in all and for the sides we ordered: Lobster mac & cheese A+ - nice chunks of lobster great cheese sauce, needed a little bit more seasoning Truffle mashed potatoes, A++- so Yum! Mouthwatering... Literally! Brussels sprouts A++- cooked very well the charm and sweetness was an excellent marriage. Asparagus C - this was the only downfall of the meal. For Mothers Day brunch the 5 of had various things. The lobster frittata was a deconstructed dish which was misleading. Frittatas are cooked in cast iron pan stove top then finished in oven. They basidly took a biscuit cutter and cooked eggs in that, served lobster piece on top with hollandais. not A good method. Their signature burgers were "smash" burgers and undercooked from request doneness. The French toast entree was so buried in the mixed berries and mascarpone that it soaked the toast and made it all dark black from the berry topping. Very wet and unappealing. Our 2 -$125 bottles of champagne were served in "hot" fluted glasses that came from the dishwasher. Oysters and soup were Good. To be fair their management staff and Servers are good and doing their jobs well so keep that in mind. It's their kitchen that needs an overhaul. . But here's the take, I hadn't been back to eat there since 2014 so paying $650 later I won't be back to eat again. read more

Went there for our 20th Anniversary and couldn't have been more happy or grateful for the hospitality and kindness shown towards us. The staff was wonderful and all knew what we were celebrating. We had called at 12pm for a 7pm reservation not expecting to be able to get in but they were kind and compassionate and got us right in. Our waiter/server was very personable and cared about each individual dish and how it would fair with our palette (something we didn't ask for). My wife didn't know what type of drink she wanted but she told him what she liked and they created it to perfection that she had 2. The steak frites were deliciously cooked to perfection with truffle fries that were to die for. The sauce was a bit too much on the steak but it did make for a nice garnish.
