After perusing the menu online I came with my wife for Easter Sunday lunch to discover they had a holiday menu that didn't include my prior choices. We were seated promptly and were able to order right away. But then we waited 20 minutes to get food. No bread and butter provided at lunch apparently. My wife had ordered a glass of chardonnay, and it was delivered in a somewhat rude way by reaching in front and pouring the wine from a carafe into her glass. This was not our actual server, but clearly someone who needed a bit of training. Wife ordered the brunch special, seared sea scallops in a bed of risotto. I had a steak sandwich that was served with fries. She liked hers a lot, but decided that Chardonnay wasn't the right wife to go with it. My sandwich came with ciabatta bread, which is pretty heavy. I ate the first half, but just ate the steak bits without the bread for the second half. Aside from a couple of tougher bits and some gristle they didn't trim, it was tasty. The fries were very good. I don't usually eat dessert, but wife wanted to try the Peach Bourbon layer cake, which was a disaster. They were happy to take it off the menu. Our server Kat was very nice. I have seen and passed this spot several times located in Halycon in Alpharetta just off exit 12 NB GA-400. A friend who I met here introduced this spot to me. We went during a fabulous happy hour sat on the sunny patio and enjoy a variety of bar bites reasonably priced. Several wines and flavored margaritas available. Service was great, a manager continued to check on us periodically. The full dining menu offers soups , salads , lots of steak/ seafood options. They offer brunch on Sat./Sun. My family went to Cattle Shed for our Thanksgiving dinner this year. The experience exceeded my expectations. The restaurant itself is small, but with reservations they will get you seated right away. The staff members were professional and you received the great kind of service you would expect from a restaurant like this. I ordered the Caesar salad for an early side, and for my meal I ordered the center cut filet with a side of crochets. Initially, I was disappointed that they did not served baked potatoes or mashed potatoes, but the crochets (fried potato balls) were the prefect substitute. After dinner, we ordered the Red Velvet cake and coffee. Both a hit, but the coffee brand they used was the best coffee our table has ever tasted! Cattle Shed is a little pricey, but completely worth every penny. 10/10 recommend this restaurant for any holiday experience or special occasion! read more

To celebrate my birthday weekend, we went to Cattle Shed for the first time. I had the following: Blue Velvet - tasted like a melted blueberry popsicle. Very good drink, would get again! Gin and Bear It - tasted strong of gin and aperol so if you like that combo this is the drink for you. Favorite part was the pineapple foam because it tasted just like pineapple. Lobster and shrimp mac and cheese - huge portion so that was a plus. Wished the lobster was cut up throughout the mac and cheese but overall tasty. Liked the bacon bits in the crust, too. (Complimentary) crème brûlée - goo vanilla flavor, just like pudding. Didn't like the sugar on top it had a more burnt taste or something. Strawberry on top was delicious. Overall nice touch to celebrate my birthday. Left the restaurant happy and full! My fiancé had the following: Lavender Collins - it tasted more like a mojito which is fine but nothing special about it Lemon drop with Tito's vodka - good simple drink Kansas City strip steak with bourbon honey butter - good cook on the steak which was seasoned well. The food was very good and the restaurant itself was nice, but unfortunately my experience with the service wasn't the best. I came here to celebrate my birthday, and it was my first time enjoying a nice dinner out since becoming a mom. I completely understand that a crying baby can be disruptive at times, but the server who assisted us seemed visibly irritated whenever my baby made noise. Throughout our meal, I felt rushed and received several uncomfortable stares, which made it difficult to relax and enjoy the experience. The interaction felt cold and unwelcoming. What stood out most was that the attitude seemed to change when it was time to pay, becoming noticeably friendlier, which felt disingenuous. While I enjoyed the food, I wouldn't consider this a very baby- or family-friendly environment based on my experience. read more

I've dined at Cattle Shed before, about 2 years ago for brunch and it literally knocked my socks off it was absolutely amazing. I had reservations a few weeks ago, but it closed because of the snow. I thought it was so considerate for the GM to reach out personally to notify me of the closure. I rebooked the reservation for last night. In hindsight, I'm glad my cousin couldn't join me because the food was horrible and I would have felt bad had to pay for her meal. I had the pork belly which was pretty good. The halibut was awful, but the server did warn me about it. I just adore halibut so I ended up getting it anyway. It was way overcooked and super dry. The miso was overpowering, but tolerable. The set up on the dish was so gross. The menu stated tri colored pearl cous-cous, but on the plate there was about 10% pearl cous-cous and 90% small Moroccan cous cous which I hate.. the brut rose tasted corked. We ordered the Wagyu Tagliatelli, Arancini, Churrasco Satay, French Onion Soup, and Cattle Shed Mashed Potatoes Wagyu Tagliatelli: 2/5 - An Extremely Watered down tomato based pasta that had half a chunk of Tomato in it. Only redeeming factor is the noodles. Arancini: 4/5 - Decent Arancini but very bland with close to no seasoning Churrasco Satay: 1/5 - I was not expecting something that looked so appetizing to be spit out of my mouth. This was the saltiest thing ive eaten in the past 10 years. The sear was great and the spices were there but the salt was so unbearably overwhelming. So I made reservations here for my boyfriend's birthday. When we arrived, we were told the table wasn't ready. After several minutes, they then said they were going to need to take us upstairs to a private room and I kind of wanted to be on the main floor and they said well, you don't have an option. So up we went. It was a large round table, nothing special. I tried a couple cocktails that were decent, but not amazing. I started with a tuna tartar and it was very very salty with not much flavor other than the soy. My boyfriend got the burger and truffle fries. The fries were pretty good. The only thing that really stood out was the Caesar salad, although there was barely any dressing on it. I really like the pear and the egg which is not typical in the Caesar salad, other than what's in the dressing. That salad really stood out to me. I tried my friend's macaroni and cheese. It was subpar. I got the chicken piccata with the noodles and was very disappointed. It tasted almost sour like there was too much lemon in it. I barely touched it. I took it home thinking my daughter might eat it, but she didn't like it either so we ended up tossing it. The special pasta of the night had mushrooms in it and I tried my friends and that was really the better entrée for sure. I was really expecting a much better experience. Service was really good. The only thing that concerns me is that I had a fraudulent charge on my credit card two days later and oddly enough, the company that the charge was made to called me and I wondered how they not only stole my credit card but knew my phone number. At the end of the night here, I filled out a loyalty card. I don't know why I even did it, but it did ask for my phone number. I wish all restaurants would offer tableside check out. I don't know truly if this happened from the restaurant, but for the security of your patrons, it would serve you better to check out tableside. read more

My wife Abigail and I did a date night at Cattle Shed last night and had an excellent time. We both enjoyed a glass of Pinot and started off with some Arancini, very tasty. Then we ordered us up some steaks . She enjoyed a Center Cut Filet Mignon and I devoured the Kansas City Strip. We also shared the truffle fries which were quite yummy. Just before ending the evening, we polished off a large piece of chocolate cake for dessert. The place is very nice, but also chill. Although we didn't sit at the bar, the people hanging out up there appeared to be having a great time sipping their drinks and chatting with each other. Besides just steaks, this very nice restaurant has a large amount of other items to choose from on their menu, and they have a very long and reasonable happy hour(s). It was the one thing that I did not enjoy. Well, that and the truffle fries. Service was nice. However, my sister ordered the salmon with her dish and the waitress forgot it. To make up for this, we were given two complementary desserts. The waitress had a really thick accent and it was really hard to understand what she was saying so when she went over the special of the day, I nodded my head, not even realizing what she was saying. We came here for Happy Hour and had a wonderful experience as usual. Maja, our server, could not have been more pleasant. The Happy Hour selection had a nice variety. Two of us shared the pork belly, wedge salad, wagyu meatballs, arancini, and shrimp cocktail. My wife enjoyed two glasses of Pinot Grigio and I had a Mich Ultra. Although we found the meatballs to be a bit on the salty side, they were quite tender. All other choices were excellent and we didn't leave anything behind! This is a great steakhouse which actually isn't the best description since they have so many, really good non red meat options on the menu. I've always found the service here to be friendly, knowledgeable and helpful in making wine selections. Even though this is a high end restaurant (with the pricing to prove it), I love how the vibe of the place is laid back and casual. Here's my tip for enjoying this place more often, be sure to come by and enjoy their amazing happy hour. For me, having a full meal here is to commemorate special events since it's pretty expensive. The good news is they have a lot of great food (and drink) specials during happy hour and it's not typical, bar food, it's really good and priced at a level that allows you to order and share multiple dishes. read more

We had a 6:30 reservation on the Friday before Valentine's Day and unfortunately left feeling pretty underwhelmed, especially given the reputation and price point. When we arrived and gave our reservation name, we were minimally acknowledged and then stood waiting for about 10 minutes before anyone addressed us. There was no apology or explanation that they didn't yet have space for our party of four. It felt less like "we're busy" and more like we were an inconvenience. Once seated, it took another 10 minutes before anyone brought water to the table. I ultimately had to ask a manager for waters, and even that interaction felt rushed and slightly annoyed, as though I was interrupting. Food-wise, the appetizers were genuinely the highlight of the evening, well prepared and flavorful. However, the steaks felt overpriced for what they were. The sides were disappointing, and the lobster mac & cheese in particular was very underwhelming. The chocolate cake was delicious and one of the few standout items beyond the starters. I understand it was a busy Friday before Valentine's Day, but that's also a predictable rush. For a restaurant at this level, I would expect both the service and overall experience to reflect better preparation. However, the restaurant is very tastefully decorated and there is outside seating. Also the health score is a 94. Food I ordered the Cattleshed Wagyu burger medium well. The burger came out on the well side. However, it was a little juicy. The shallots were good on the burger, but overall the burger was under whelming. The Alons bun was dry. The truffle fries were tasty. My spouse ordered the New York strip steak medium well. Again, her steak was well done. The steak did have a nice flavor but was on the dry side. Came here for NYE Dinner with a pre-fixed menu! All the food was pretty good (3.5/5) and our server was great (5/5)! I liked the music playlist (5/5) and the light fixtures/decor (5/5). The location was pretty great too since it was at Halcyon even though not a lot of people were out and about there. (5/5) Favorite Dishes for me: Fall salad (Refreshing!), Lobster Tagliolini (Nice lemony finish), and Baked Mac and Cheese (Made with penne instead of macaroni and the crisp topping was great!) Couple of recommendations for the chef: Portion sizes of entree sides were way bigger than the entrees so maybe adjusting the pre-fix menu to be able to maybe share 2 sides instead of each individual getting a side or increasing the portion size of the prosciutto/melon appetizer which I found to be too small. Calamari tasted great but the sauce at the bottom looked more like a part of the plate and needed a side of sauce for the calamari. Cakes were kind of dry. Also interestingly the ketchup for the kid burger ended up being a great sauce for the calamari! I would come back and try this place on a regular night if I was near Halcyon! read more

Came in for Sunday brunch and didn't have a reservation. It wasn't overly busy so we were seated right away. The Hostess also seamed to be our server which is fine just a little odd. She seemed to be serving all tables in the restaurant for the first 30 minutes we were there then another server showed up. Although they were clearly short staffed we never had to really wait for her to come to us and she was very attentive. My only gripe where service was concerned was when I asked questions about the menu and she didn't know the answer, she said "I don't know" and stood there. It's fine if you don't know but find out. She never bothered to find out. That shows lack of interest to learn or to help your customer get the information they need to make a decision. They had the sides open by the bar because it was a nice day, but they need to figure out a way to put up some discreet bug zappers or something to prevent the flies and gnats. I kept having to bat a fly away from my face, food, and drink. As far as the food goes. What I wanted was the Croque Madam but was told they are out of that and are removing that from the menu. So I ordered the chicken salad croissant. It was ok. Nothing really super special about it. The truffle fries were good. The Sangria was great. Honestly I'm struggling with this review as it could be as low as 1 for some things and as high as 3 1/2 for other things (no 4s or 5s) I can assure you. We were going to be visiting the area from Florida for the weekend and after talking with my sister, who lives in Cumming, she suggested I find a spot in this area as it was south of their home and on our route home. I made the reservations weeks before. Upon arrival we were quickly seated at a very nice high top table. The hostess quickly brought water and said our server would be with us soon. After at least 10 minutes had passed and we were getting a little antsy for some brunch cocktails, Laura came over and said she would be our server but she was in the middle of helping two tables so it would be a bit. Odd. I asked if someone else get our drink order while we waited for her and she was huffy and said that would be her. Meanwhile I notice the person who is obviously the manager standing around the hostess stand too busy chatting with all the young ladies on staff. I'm thinking to myself, why doesn't your manager or one of those other ladies standing there help you out? It was a very rough and painful start to our brunch to say the least. Finally 20-25 minutes after being seated we received our drinks. RIDICULOUS!! No one should ever wait that long for a drink. Said manager is still just standing near hostess stand chatting it up with the ladies half his age. Bad vibes going on here. Laura did try to recover from what was a bad start and some of which may have not been her fault, but at this point we questioned our decision to come here. Our party of seven had several steak and egg meals, a crab cake Benedict meal, a spicy chicken sandwich meal, French toast, omelet of the day, and a filet minion entree. We had multiple orders of fries. We also had a handful of adult beverages of all kinds. The hands down best thing of the food dishes was the French fries. The second best was the lunch filet mignon, though it's not inexpensive, third place ties were the French toast, the omelet of the day and the spicy chicken sandwich. The steak and eggs was very chewy and a poor quality piece of meat. The crab cakes were fishy. Those two brunch items were not good. Laura continued to try and make up for the tough start and I applaud her for that. She was humorous and nice. The general manger is a joke and quite honestly a waste of money to the owners of this restaurant. Something is amiss with him and several of the young lady staff members. Our server did an excellent job keeping our drinks refreshed, and making food recommendations. I had the best French onion soup (hard to find these days) and the BLT grilled salmon. My friend ordered a steak with the most delicious truffle fries. For dessert we had creme brûlée topped with a delicate layer of caramelized sugar. We will return! read more

I finally had a chance to visit Cattle Shed this week and will definitely be back. It's a great cozy spot for a date night, work shindig, girls night, etc. Our lovely server was brand new to this restaurant, but her years of experience showed for sure. She was great to talk to and provided top notch service. Of course we have to talk about the food. We decided to get the meats & cheeses with the fresh bread and honestly that's top of my list as a choice. Meat and cheese board we tried the Lamb Pastrami, Duck Prosciutto, and Capricola for our meats and cheese we had all except for the blue. The cheeses were superb, and I loved the lamb and capricola. The duck prosciutto was not my favorite. As our dining experience continued we decided we needed to order some of their fries - truffled. AMAZING. Crispy perfect amount of crunch on the outside with that soft potato goodness inside. So tasty. I'd genuinely come here just for the fries at this point. Now if we're eating all this we're of course ending up thirsty. Enter the wine menu! I had a wonderful Riesling while my best friend had a Chardonnay. We will 100% be back soon! read more
