Lovely little place with both indoor and outdoor seating. Live music was great and we had wonderfully attentive service! Food selections are limited to pizzas and nibbles, but all very tasty. They currently have a Halloween pop up bar that was decorated really well, but just happened to be empty when we arrived. The weather was perfect for an evening under a setting sun and a couple of porch kitties walking around. Casual setting with ample gravel parking lot (keep in mind if you like to wear heels). Do note young children are not allowed (I think it said 14+), but they do allow infants for those new parents who can't/don't want to find a sitter. Will definitely go back! read more

Hidden Gem! What a beautiful winery. So I came just checking the place and it is definitely more than what I was expecting. It's a beautiful winery with the entrance seeing all the vineyards side by side. Once you come to the main building, it's beautiful. Very nice people. Enjoyed a nice flight of sweet wines and none didn't disappointed e. My favorite is the Deep Waters. Enjoyed sitting outside and listening to the live music. Just come. Enjoy the environment, wine and food. They have a great selection. Looking at people around me, I see now why it's a kept secret. So come and you won't be disappointed. read more

This a lovely find in our city of Cumming. I found this on my Facebook feed and perfect timing since they were offering a Valentines event. Being new to Georgia and wanting to invite a few new friends, this was really a treat! A small family owned winery in the heart of Cumming amongst some beautiful land. It's a country feel complete with livestock, a barn, rock road to drive on and park your car(s). Make sure to slow down as you approach the driveway, as it is a slender road to enter and could be impossible to fit a car leaving and a car entering (dependent on car size). Our event was a wine pairing with Kilwin chocolates. Our cost for the event was $40 per person and came with 6 pours (maybe 1.5 oz each), and 6 different small pieces of chocolate. The young man who guided us through and educated us about Stoney Js was a son. He was kind and had lots of great info on the family winery, what grapes are used to make wine, where they buy their grapes to make their wines etcetera. The pairing was held in the basement of the main house which was decorated lovely and use to be the area for wine tasting. Of course now, they have a much larger building with a casual & warm feeling, a barn. The wine was good as most of their grapes are coming from the state of WA. Their wine maker has been with them a very long time and knows his skill. We six had fun and enjoyed the pairing experience. They accommodated one of our party with substituting cheese instead of chocolate since he doesn't eat chocolate. We enjoyed their pizza which is cooked in a pizza oven. The crust was tasty, not overcooked, soft with a nice texture and the toppings were very favorable. We all ordered different types and each of couples thoroughly liked the taste of each one. They also offer outdoor tables complete with a wood burning chimney fireplace. The gardens and landscape give it a feel like you are not within the city somewhere else which makes it even better. Sorry no pics were taken, but take my word, Stoneys is worth a visit more than once. They also have specials during the week and events for the public. If we lived closer, I'd most likely enjoy it more often. One last thought, we did purchase one bottle of wine, but we decided to save it for a special occasion as it was not cheap. But that being said, on a normal & regular basis, we buy wine at Costco and Trader Joe's. Doesn't mean we won't buy Stoneys wine when we visit. read more

What's best about this place is the ambiance, the food is good as is the wine (although I wish they offered a larger selection) but what makes this place stand out is the cool surroundings, great service and at times, live music that sets a cool vibe without being so loud you can't have a conversation. It's a great spot to take a date or a large group. Be sure to walk around and enjoy the farm-like property while enjoying a glass of wine. If you're planning on trying this place out at a peak time, I suggest making a reservation because people tend to linger at their table and slowly finish their wine (not wanting to leave). read more

Tried Stoney J's for the first time even though it is only 1.3 miles from my house. How did I miss this? Wine was lovely! Wood fired pizza was delicious. Beautiful setting. Stoney J's Farm Winery is beautiful! The vineyards are very well maintained and they put emphasis on the farm. They have quite a few farm animals that you can walk up to and pet or enjoy watching. This is the part we love about visiting here. Their wine however is not our favorite, unfortunately. We have tried almost each one and they just fall a little short for us. Some of them taste a bit watered down or stale, and at $15 a flight that's not a great feeling. We do however love their Johnny Vino and would probably just go to a bottle of that next time we visit. We haven't tried much of their food but we did enjoy the White Truffle Pizza. The service has always been great, they have quite a bit of younger adults working there but they are friendly and attentive. The only thing is they don't make their tasting room very welcoming... it's a bit darker in the tasting room, and we have seen some of the workers sitting on the tables or being very touchy with one another whenever we've walked in so we tend to stay outside. It lacks the inviting, let's drink some wine atmosphere. read more

Food: the only food we had was a charcuterie board and it was lovely. Great meats and cheeses and pretty presentation. Plenty of food for 2 and priced well. Service: our waitress was friendly, attentive, fast with our orders and lit the fireplace for us when we started to get chilly outside. Atmosphere: quaint, lovely farm, great outside and semi-covered seating, nice fireplace, and heat lamps, and cozy vibes. Value: priced great Wine: that's my only reason for not having 5 stars. When I chose my flight I didn't get any info on what I was choosing- the order and names of my flight got mixed up so I wasn't sure which ones I was drinking and I only liked 2 of my wines. Do you love wine? Do you like good food? Do you kind of wish you could drink wine and pet cute farm animals? This is the place to visit!! I've had two great experiences here. I love that there is a winery owned by great people here locally. I can't wait to see how they continue to grow. My MOH booked space with them for my bridal shower and they were just adding their expanded covered area. The finished it just in time and we were able to use it for my shower. It was a gorgeous space and a great day. The wine was great, the staff was so nice, and the food was wonderful. Try the charcuterie and the pretzels you won't regret it! Plus, I got to go pet cute farm animals! We finally made it back out for a tasting this past weekend and I got to try more of their wines. SO GOOD. The Ananas Pera Pinot and the Shiraz were my favorite. Their pizzas smell delicious and the people at the table next to us said they were amazing so we will have to try them when we visit again. The winery is family owned and operated and right at a year old having opened in June 2021. They have grown at a crazy pace and seem to be doing well! I can't wait to come back. Did I mention they have cute farm animals you can pet? Because yea that's kind of amazing. We had great service and they don't seem understaffed, but I do like to add that with visiting anywhere these days I encourage people to be kind and courteous to the owners and employees of the establishments you visit. It has taken a bit more patience at some places with many being understaffed and having a hard time finding employees. This is our favorite winery to visit especially when we don't feel like taking a long trip. The have an awesome mix of muscadines, whites, reds, fruits, and dessert wine options which are all pretty good. Our favorite is the pineapple pear wine! It's not too sweet and also super refreshing! They also have great beer options too if that's more your speed. The food here is another reason we love visiting. They have one of the best wood fired pizzas I have ever had. The meatballs are also really good but they also have other sandwiches, hotdogs, appetizers, and desserts on their menu. The service is always great and welcoming; it's an extremely friendly and family like environment. And we love seeing the farm animals, they're so cute! The gift shop also has cute stuff like soaps, signs, etc. and you can get really nice pics by their vineyard! I would recommend this place for anything from a date, family dinner, or a girl's brunch. read more

Who knew that this was right in my back yard! I came here for my Bday celebration and I was not disappointed. However, for the high-heeled girls, fair warning wear comfortable shoes. There is an incline, and it is gravel. And it does not matter whether you are dropped off at the frt door, the same way in is not the same way out, and you will need to walk down hill. Outside of that the atmosphere and the staff are very helpful, knowledgeable and kind. I ENJOYED the animals but know if you are sitting outside, there can be a wiff of animal smell depending on the flow of air. Lol, but not enough that it bothers you. The food was very good but know the menu is mainly charcuterie boards and pizzas. Which is okay, but if you have acid reflux take you antacid pills. I will def go back on a nice weather day to sit outside. I don't know what it looks like inside as I was to focused on the live band. read more

The service is real fast and the staff is very attentive. The pretzel with the warm cheese sauce is great. For the pizzas we had the sweet and spicy, the sausage and ricotta, arugula and prosciutto. All the pizza was fantastic. Reminded me of Pizza by Fucos in downtown Acworth. My wife got the flight and she liked all the wine she got. The kids enjoys seeing and petting the farm animals. Visited the first time a few weeks ago and really enjoyed it! This is a winery / farm / family home property conveniently located in south Forsyth. Drive in on a gravel road past a pretty vineyard. The entire property is gorgeous and well-kept. Parking areas are also gravel. Right away you'll see a giant barnyard full of animals! Goats, sheep, pigs, mini horses, chickens, even alpacas. The goats will come to the fence to say hi (well, probably to beg for food, but I choose to believe they're good hosts). The main area is a stone courtyard with several types of tables. It's next to a grassy area where kids can play. Some seating is covered. Just sit at any open table. A small bar and a few tables are inside the main building, but I didn't see anyone using them. Staff was friendly and helpful. Apparently there's live music on weekends, but not on Friday night when we were there. I loved that the crowd was a mix of every age - babies to grandparents and everything in between. $15 wine sampler was tiny pours of 5 wines (your choice) in plastic shot glasses. We liked a couple, others not so much. I would order a glass or bottle next time. Beer is also available. Menu includes 5-6 types of pizza, a charcuterie plate or a fresh pretzel. Margherita pizza was just okay. Overall, I'd say the atmosphere is the big draw here. Keep your expectations in check about the wine and food. But it's such an enjoyable and unique place, I'll happily come back again and bring friends. read more

Made a quick stop On the way home from a weekend trip. Tucked away just outside of town is a lovely tasting room and outside area. Inside was a wonderful open kitchen and wine bar. Outside was a lovely courtyard and covered area with live music. The wine tastings offered multiple choices and detailed descriptions of each. Picked up a bottle of sweet tree peach. Great wine selection and their pizzas are amazing. I wish the crust was a little smaller so there's more space for toppings but still delicious. We also got the pretzels and a cannoli. The food here is surprisingly really good. I loved every dish. The only downside was the waitress. She was kind of rude and dismissive, hence I can't give this place a 5 star. The space isn't super big. I feel like this is a satellite location? I don't know, but small enough to enjoy the farm. It can be overwhelming if it's too big. Stoney J's is a farm, winery, and vineyard. They are serving up pretzels and hand made pizzas, in addition to charcuterie platters and some desserts. You can order wine as a tasting, by the glass, or the entire bottle. Hubs and I stopped by for the grand opening. There was horrible weather so we were limited to the tasting room indoors. I imagine when there is nice weather it will not feel as cramped as it did today with everyone escaping the weather. We ended up ordering two tastings for $10 each. Each tasting came with a sample of 5 different wines of our choice. We were not able to find a seat at the bar or at one of the tables, so we ended up sitting at the pizza bar. It was a tasting with a show. The staff were kind enough to serve us at the pizza bar and provide us with our next pours so we did not have to keep walking up to the tasting bar. While we did not try any of the pizzas they looked and smelled divine! The price point for the tasting was also appropriate. The wines were not our favorite, but this family owned farm winery provided us with some amazing service and a fantastic atmosphere. The property is really lovely. Farm house chic inside the tasting room. Perfectly manicured exterior with an actual farm. We wish we would have visited with better weather because we would have loved to sit outside. We have a new favorite winery! I live in Cumming and always traveled north for wineries, but this is in my backyard. I love whites and there are plenty of delicious wines with various flavors and sweetness levels. I do love their red, Johnny Vino. My husband has nothing but good things to say about the reds. On this second visit, we tried the white pizza and the sweet and spicy. Quality ingredients baked in a wood fired oven makes for nothing less than deliciousness! read more
