They tracked my trip and communicated with me that they were aware my flight was delayed eliminating stress for me. Our family reunion tour was so unsatisfactory primarily because our tour guide was very…read moreinexperienced. The bus driver did not know where she was going. She was unsteady and did not really know how to maneuver the vehicle well. They clearly did not have a good plan mapped out. The microphone on the bus was broken so we could not hear the tour guide. He was not sure about any intriguing facts about any of the sites and he was tentative, lacking professional posture and communication. He was a student and very kind but should not be a tour guide. Aside from the bus being comfortable it was a pretty low quality experience. We drove by the HBCUs, saw the outside of Tyler Perry, Studios, and visited the King Center. All great sites. The website advertised numerous additional stops though. The worst part of all of this is that the owner did not care AT ALL about our experience. The tour was over $1500 for 30 people. It was as if he took the money and was not interested at all in whether we were satisfied. At the very minimum had he gotten a megaphone (as requested) or checked the sound on the bus before the tour it would have made a huge difference. He also needs to train all of his tour guides and map out a plan for them to follow. This saddened me.

At each destination he was attentive and periodically checked on everyone in my party. He was available if we needed anything and communicated the times to ensure we were on schedule. It was cold and windy that day; luckily, the trolley was heated, and the weather did not affect the tour. This tour is a great deal, priced under $40, to get a detailed overview of the main neighborhoods in and around Atlanta. These days, you will pay a lot more to drive around in an Uber or Lyft, and you won't get a tour guide giving you the history behind the landmarks you will see. The only stop made on this tour is at the Martin Luther King Jr. Center. You will have some time to explore the Center, but not enough to see everything in this area. Ebenezer Baptist Church is next to the Center, and the trolley drives by MLK Jr.'s birth home. At the time I visited, the home was temporarily closed for renovations. For a more in-depth tour of the neighborhood, you will need to return on your own.
