Since there was no Grouper, my kiddo and I got the fried catfish po'boy & the fried shrimp po'boys and shared them and OMG. The fry is well-seasoned, and the fish/shrimp were ample; just enough dressings and delicious French bread. We also had a side of okra, which was good, although I would have liked maybe some remoulade for dipping, or more of the seasoning from the seafood fry in the mix. Located in a shopping center, the spot is small and quaint, with a NOLA-themed mural and decor... and the playlist was all bangers! This is a great local, family run business here in Dallas. The service is fantastic and the location is immaculately clean. The bread is soft and pillowy and fresh. There is plenty of parking. They are located right behind the 278. They only offer provolone for cheese. For me, it's always my preference, but my husband who prefers Swiss was a bit disappointed. I'm sure they do this to keep inventory costs low, but I thought I would mention in case it is a deal breaker for anyone. read more

I was looking for some good fried fish. In the Hiram area where I live I thought there wasn't anything close to what I wanted. I saw Lee's Southern Kitchen and I ordered from them off the ChowNow app. I didn't realize they didn't deliver. I was so disappointed!!! I called to cancel my order but the owner said my order was dropped already, I don't have transportation for myself, long story short, Lee's Southern Kitchen sent someone to bring me my order. By the way I ordered a fried rainbow trout basket with an extra piece of fried perch, the food was hitting!!! I sooo appreciated then delivering my order And they gave me a cookie! Where do I begin! Mrs. Lee didn't just serve, she delivered! My wife and I love trying new local spots, and Lee's Southern Kitchen seemed like a winner to try. We ordered through Chownow. Our food was scheduled to arrive by 7:33 PM, but before we even realized the time, I received a call from the owner herself, Mrs. Lee. She kindly explained that the delivery driver hadn't shown up yet and apologized for the delay, even though the food was ready right on schedule. Her level of concern and communication immediately stood out I told Mrs. Lee I could swing by to pick up the order since the restaurant is just around the corner, and when I arrived, I was greeted with the warmest hospitality. The food was hot, fresh, and smelled amazing! I ordered the flounder platter with fried shrimp and hush puppies, and my wife ordered the gumbo with red beans and rice. After reading about this family owned business, I decided to check it out on New Year's Eve . They started out in a gas station kitchen and moved on up to their own place , like The Jefferson's. hehe I love hear about stories regarding entrepreneurs. Where would this world be without " us ?" Anyway, I was greeted my a very friendly face . Not to sound rude ( no offense intended) but she looked very tired . However , she kept smiling and she was so patient as she explained what the orders entailed . I felt bad because here I come at 5:15 and closing time is 5:30. It didn't take long to receive the food despite my last minute thought to order food in lieu of cooking . She was just so kind . The food was fresh and piping hot . I ordered the tilapia basket with collards , Mac n cheese and hush puppies. The two hush puppies were very tiny but they were good . I opted out on a drink. I drunk water when I got home . The food was flavorful, hot and the serving size was just enough for my little body . The basket came with two pieces of tilapia . I ate the other one for breakfast . This was our first official meal in Georgia. We had not eaten all day until 4PM and we were so glad that it was not terribly busy when ordered. You are able to order with the cashier or use the self-checkout, which is quite literally in front of the cashier. There were lots of items to choose from the menu. I went with the fried shrimp poboy and my friend got a burger (not sure if they still do burgers since I did not see it on the online menu today, 11/1/2023). The poboy had a TON of shrimp in it. I have been to this place just a few days ago, and although I was very curious to see what they have, my first impressions here wasn't very great to say the least. As soon as you enter the place, it had a very off putting smell that makes you question if the place had been cleaned properly. The prices was suspiciously high for several food items on the menu, several things like pasta, sandwiches and other things were well over $20 for just the entree. I did end up ordering a fried chicken tender basket with fries which was rather lovely and tasted good. Service was pretty good too, and only took just 10 mins for my food. A kind lady took my order and seemed very polite. But the place could use some work in some areas. Discovered this hidden gem randomly while passing through one day. The menu is large and has something for everyone. The staff is friendly and very welcoming. My wife and I got the catfish platter and shrimp platter with red beans, Mac and cheese, collard greens, and fried okra. The batter and seasoning were on point. None of the sides disappointed. I have eaten here many times at the store as well is in the new place and it is always very good. The owners are very nice people and the service top notch . I visited Lees on Friday, I had a taste for some soul food. The place is small, but was clean and had a nice vibe to it. I ordered a catfish po boy,/fries, fried okra, , red beans and rice , mild wings, banana pudding and peach cobbler. The food was hot and I could tell that it was freshly made. The fried okra was really good, the catfish po boy was really nice and seasoned well. I didn't like the wings, they were overcooked, and were a bit hard. I also didn't care for the banana pudding/ it wasn't a banana pudding at all- it was more of a thick creamy substance with a ginger snap cookie on top. It was a light tan colored desert, not yellow and I didn't find bananas in it . As for the red beans, they were decent, not great, but ok. I didn't eat the peach cobbler yet-so I can't rate it. It looks good- just hoping that it is. I'll give this place another try soon- but this meal did not blow me away. I used my debit card to pay and left a nice tip. I then added the banana pudding to my order and paid cash - for just that addition. Let me start by saying we found this restaurant inside of a store prior to it getting its own brick and mortar spot. We knew we had found a gem then, everything we had was fabulous down to the sides of collard greens, mac & cheese, and cornbread. I have tried the shrimp Poboy which I did enjoy, we absolutely enjoy the catfish fillets and the wings are great as well. There are so many options for wing flavors you can't go wrong. My husband likes to mix it up a bit with some Sriracha honey lemon pepper. That's too much for me but they are willing to try to please you with flavoring your wings. The owners are very friendly. We've never had to wait too long but you do have to wait because the food is cooked fresh for you when you order it. I'd wait any day over being served food under a heat lamp.
