He informed me that refund requests "expire" after 45 minutes, despite the fact that the issue involved spoiled merchandise that I could not have reasonably discovered until opening the item at home. He stated that his general manager, "Jay," was not available and could not be contacted, and he did not know his full name. I was told the manager would return in the morning. I explained that I would be on a flight in the morning and would not be able to return, at which point I was told there was "nothing that could be done." I did not request a replacement cheesecake, as the original item I was given was spoiled and raised concerns about food handling. Ultimately, the restaurant kept the merchandise, and I left with nothing. In addition to the refusal to resolve the issue, Louis's demeanor was condescending and dismissive, and the level of customer service I received was extremely disappointing. This situation is concerning not only because of the customer service failure, but because expired food should never be served, and refund policies should not override basic food safety and fairness.
