I am writing to formally report an unacceptable experience I had today at the Captain D's location on Merchant Drive. Earlier today, I purchased a meal that included a cheesecake. After leaving the restaurant and returning home, I noticed that the cheesecake I was given was spoiled. Due to the obvious food safety concern, I immediately drove back to the restaurant to request a refund. Upon returning, I spoke with an employee named Louis. He informed me that refund requests "expire" after 45 minutes, despite the fact that the issue involved spoiled merchandise that I could not have reasonably discovered until opening the item at home. He stated that his general manager, "Jay," was not available and could not be contacted, and he did not know his full name. I was told the manager would return in the morning. I explained that I would be on a flight in the morning and would not be able to return, at which point I was told there was "nothing that could be done." I did not request a replacement cheesecake, as the original item I was given was spoiled and raised concerns about food handling. Ultimately, the restaurant kept the merchandise, and I left with nothing. In addition to the refusal to resolve the issue, Louis's demeanor was condescending and dismissive, and the level of customer service I received was extremely disappointing. This situation is concerning not only because of the customer service failure, but because expired food should never be served, and refund policies should not override basic food safety and fairness. I am requesting a refund for the spoiled cheesecake and a review of the customer service practices at this location. I would appreciate a follow-up regarding how this matter will be addressed. If I could give zero stars I would . This location needs to change on all levels ! I don't eat at a Captain D's often , but this one is one of the worst locations ever ! I guess you've figured in a few seconds what I think of this place . Nothing ! Firstly , let's talk about the parking lot where the line forms for the drive through . There's a huge pot hole in the ground ( I mean damage your car type ) large enough to fit your entire wheel into the hole. What's that about? In order to stay in line I had to MacGver around it I order to not lose my place in line and my damage my car . I ordered my food but I couldn't help mentioning the hole first . If you aren't paying attention or if it's dark out , you're through ! Next , there were three cars in front of me and one behind me . That's 5 cars ! What did it take until doons day to get up to the window in order to receive my food . Ima patient person but the long wait was not warranted . It really surprised I waited in what seemed like 30 minutes. That's too long for 5 cars in line and there weren't any customers inside. Why is it that Chick fil-A can move 50 cars in line in 10 minutes and there were only 5 total customers. I don't get it . Lastly , I'm thinking to myself this food better be better than I can imagine after dealing with a pot hole and a long wait . Unfortunately when I got home to eat what was supposed to be my dinner I was extremely disappointed. At first sight I noticed the presentation. My two piece fish meal was broken in pieces . I'm not a big eater but the portion size looked as if I ordered from the child menu at Mac Donald's . I could nit believe I spent $11.01 for a half teaspoon of broccoli and I asked for extra hush puppies to make up for two sides . I love hush puppies, but mine were like hard golf balls . They weren't brown and crispy , they were hard and burnt . The plate didn't resemble the photo on the marque at the slightest. I know I said it was my last part of the review, but I can't end this without mentioning how disgusting the cashier looked as she took my debit card for payment . She appeared sad, and frustrated . I was nice to her and smiled as she gave me my food . I'd hoped at that split second that she was ok . I said a quick prayer few words to the man above for her . I wished her the best , because in general you never know what someone's going through. The management needs to improve this location . The portions sizes , the look and feel of the parking lot and the staff should be pleasant and welcoming. I hadn't been in the dining room in years .My last memory of it wasn't so good. So. This restaurant should rebrand itself as "Catfish" because it is not at all what it represents itself to be. It is supposed to be a fast-food restaurant, it is not. I waited, inside the restaurant, over an hour for my order along with others. Customers before me were canceling their orders and walking out. I should have been one of them. The window orders were priority. They were in and out in no time. I ordered the special--2 piece fish with a side. 5.99. I had ordered an extra side of okra. I did not realize that an extra side at the Catfish restaurant cost around $4. The okra was old and stringy. This restaurant is convenient. Just wished it was a what it appeared to be--good fast-food restaurant with quality meals. That would be great! But no, you got me again. No recommendation for anything. read more

Where's the fish? Omg what happened to Captain Ds? I was thankful they had the dining room open since the location near me still hasn't opened and it's been 2 years. Fyi fried fish does NOT travel well so they should think of opening the dining room. The service was quick but my entire meal was ruined by the workers being overly kind bc they needed to clean before the locked up to do drive thru only. In't expect your manager to do much because I don't believe that she will, but I'm going to say this the captain D's in Dallas Georgia is not hard to find who owns And operates it. They need to go in not only and fix that huge problem that they have in their driveway that crater that's been there for years. They need to do a house cleaning and get rid of every person that works there because it's not one isolated incident. It's always this way. Disappointed again. Nothing annoys me more about ordering food than NOT getting what I paid for. I ordered a 2 piece fish dinner with green beans and cole slow just to get home and find 2 pieces of fish ("seasoned" with old, over-cooked crumbs possibly from old, unstrained oil), fries and NO hush puppies. Worst customer service ever! Don't ever come here because they don't pick up the phone and don't care if they mess up your order! Me and my mom's order was wrong and they usually tell people to call them back to fix the problem. We couldn't call so we went into the drive thru, they were nice until we mentioned that we needed our food replaced. The manager was very rude and unprofessional! Starting being nosy about me and my mom's conversations! Like it was any of her business! Her and my mom starts to go back and forth because my mom told her to mind her business. We tried to finish our order but they refused to serve us and locked us out of the restaurant. We had a dark-skin black girl with braids told by her manager who was a old white lady to lock the doors. This was on Wednesday, September 6th 2023. We never got a refund! No replacement! No apologies! No good customer service! Been coming to this place for years but that's no longer going to happen. If I'm not mistaken, I think the lady we dealt with was Janice Johnson! Update: I spoke with the manager and she was a nice lady. She said she will look into it. I really appreciated her phone call. I visited this location on August 23 @ 8:45pm. As soon as we pulled into the parking lot a young woman or teenage girl ran over and locked the outside door, then preceded to go sit down at one of the tables next to the window. I tried the door & it was definitely locked. She yells they thru the window at me that the lobby closes at 9pm. I told her it's not nine o'clock then showed her my phone which said 8:47pm. She acted irritated and reluctantly let me in. I told her I plan to place an order to go but needed to potty first. I was t in the restroom two minutes then went to the counter to place an order. It was the same girl. I asked for the country style fish dinner. She starts saying they are out of the country style fish but they have the regular fish. After going back & forth with her for a minute or two a young man comes out of the kitchen to say they weren't out of the country style fish, the fryers have been turned off he said. I said it's only a few minutes till nine and you don't close till 10:00pm yet you have turned the fryers off. He said they have to strain the oil at night is why he turned it off early. How in the world are they supposed to serve food till 10:00pm when the workers are turning off the cookers early and can't cook a meal for anyone. I didn't get their names but they seemed to be the only two people working so if the owner reads this review, all you have to do is look at the schedule. This place is ridiculous! Waited in drive thru line for 28 mins to be told that because I did an online order, I had to come inside. Every time I've came here in the past, I've always used the drive thru. So I go inside and tell him that, he tells me he can't help that everyone else before him had done it wrong. I wait another 16 mins at the counter and watch him give my order to a car in the drive thru, ask for it back, and the turn around and hand it to me. Ummm what?!! At this point my blood sugar was dropping (I'm a type1 diabetic) and needed food asap. I let him know that I saw my food get handed to someone else, and he just stared at me. Never a sorry for your wait, NOTHING! There were only 2 other people there. He never gave me my drink and I ordered chicken and there was fish in my bag. Surprised the sides were correct. Service is terribly slow. Im sitting in the lobby and can hear the lady in the drive thru constantly cussing and complaining about the drive through speaker system. The young lady (Anslee?) at the the lobby register seems to be trying. Her uniform is clean and looks professional, but she doesnt seem to be properly trained and doesnt know the advertised specials that are right on front of her register. The wait time for food is absolutely atrocious. The bright side being that the restaurant appears fairly clean and theres a advertised health score of 95. read more

My wife placed a large order yesterday. None of it was right. Even after I let her speak with the staff on the phone and they allegedly corrected the order, there were no hushpuppies in most of the orders, the sides were wrong, and only one of the platters had deviled crab. My daughter didn't get her order at all. We only received 4 of the 5. My wife spoke with the manager this morning and was told the orders would be remade, but we would not be getting a refund, even for the order they didn't make. Paid $32+ for the 10 pc family meal and got NO hush puppies and only 8 pcs of fish. Needless to say,won't be back any time soon. Then the actual building and parking lot are another story, the building is disgusting, & unkept. The parking lot is full of holes, a huge one is right in the drive thru. The staff are not compliant with Covid-19 safety guidelines (I saw 4 people w/ mask pulled down off their faces, talking to each other, while touching their phones, faces, mouths etc...then not washing or sanitizing their hands before touching the food & prep equipment. God only knows what else they do and aren't washing their hands after. That's just what I saw on my last visit. Which will forever be my last visit. We ordered two 4 piece fish dinners with green beans and coleslaw along with an order of fried clam strips (we're good eaters). The was virtually no waiting. The food was hot and fresh, it was great! My boyfriend and I eat here all the time, and never have any problems with it. I am sad however about them taking the mellow yellow away. But the food is still delicious! when something is still being cooked they tell us and bring it out as soon as they are done.
