Vestige of a by-gone era. It was really hard at first to tell that it was open (11:45 am). The place is quite worn around the edges and in need of a big update, but at the same time it was soothing to this old gen-x heart. The salad bar is and was always the draw at Ruby Tuesday's. The era of the famous "beast and bird" is long gone so I settled for a burger and the salad bar. The food was good. The service was fast and very responsive. I guess the only thing that really struck a nerve with me was the gen-z boy who was seating people. He stood and looked down at his phone just about the entire time I was there while all the people around him are working and making it happen. Wow this location is run down. Doesn't seem clean and definitely needs a refresh. The booths are peeling and cracked, and just felt generally unkept. Servers were eating their meals and alternating with serving. Not sure if they were washing hands between. Service was slow. My water was empty for quite some time. I hadn't been to a Ruby Tuesday's in I don't know how many years. The one closest to me had closed down years ago and I happened upon here for lunch one afternoon. For a Tuesday lunch it was pretty quiet so I was seated quickly. I ordered a soda to drink. My waiter was very attentive and took care of my drink refills the whole meal, which was very nice. I don't believe I had to ask hardly once for a refill as he would bring me one when he saw I was getting low. I ordered the coconut shrimp with the loaded baked potato soup as my side. The shrimp were very crunchy and delicious. The soup was good but it lacked potatoes- it was more of a cheese soup than potato soup. Overall the flavor was good for both items. Although I have to say I was blown away by the service- the waiter was so attentive and friendly to my party. Drink refills, to-go boxes, extra sauce, he was on it. I gave this a two star simply because I really don't want to give Ruby Tuesday a one. They use to be really good and most of the time I had a really good experience in them. Not anymore. Let's start with cleaning. Not a word that is used enough there anymore. The Dallas, Ga needs a lot of work. Start with what was clean and I am not sure what was. The place is needing remodeling. Service, go to a walk up and order at a cash register and self serv drinks. Pay for a person that can clean the tables. Keep the salad bar, for the price add a few more items. Keep the soup at the bar. Cut the over all menu in half. Most of all do better!!! I don't want to see you go but it has to get better than what it is. Most places are super busy on Friday night and we didn't want the long wait. On a whim we thought of Ruby Tuesday and thought the wait be less. We pulled in the parking lot and thought it was closed since there were only two cars in the parking lot. We walked in and there was not an employee in sight. We saw two employees standing by the bar area. We finally got their attention and were seated. At that point we should have just walked out. The server came and without much of a friendly greeting asked what we wanted. I asked what was on a particular sandwich and she said she didn't know and proceeded to ask the manager, who also wasn't sure. We ordered and it took 20 minutes for our food to come. There was only another couple in the restaurant at the time and they were already eating. Ruby Tuesday's are usually bad, but this one beyond bad. It should be shut down. The staff are uniformed and really don't care about customer service. I would give it zero stars and it would be to much. Don't waste your time or money. read more

Both wife and I had the Tuesday Lunch special, Burger and Tots for $6.99. Really can't beat the value. Burger was good and tots were cooked just right. Server was okay, but not very attentive. Never asked how our meal was, he did refill my drink when he brought out our meal. Had a small issue with the pay device which was out of paper and had a typo when I input the email, couldn't go back to fix it and server never came back. Table felt sticky and salt and pepper shakers were messy as well. Overall I enjoyed the meal, but they could do better cleaning the place. read more

I've given this location so many chances and they just keep going downhill. I used to love ordering food from here just 2-3 years ago, but the food and service has just gotten worse and worse. Tonight I decided, no more orders. I ordered the chicken parmesan, which I've gotten countless times. It used to be delicious, then it was a hit or miss, and the past few times, it's just been miss after miss. And tonight was the last straw. First, the meal usually comes with rotini and zucchini, but tonight I was told it no longer comes with zucchini so I had to order it separately. Fine. I was also told it comes with two chicken breasts. Great! (So I thought) Next, I asked for extra cheese on the chicken parm bc of my hit or miss experiences in the past where they literally sprinkled a little cheese over it. I confirmed the extra cheese before hanging up. When I got my food, not only was there only one measly chicken breast cut into four slices, there was barely any cheese! And the extra they called themselves giving me on the side wasn't even the mozzarella cheese that's supposed to go with the meal. In addition, there was barely any pasta sauce and some of the pasta was undercooked so I couldn't even eat it all. I'm so over the mediocre food with the mediocre attitudes from different servers. P.S. I'm only giving 2 stars instead of 1 because the Parmesan shrimp pasta is good sometimes. read more

It's not good when a restaurant is empty on a Sunday afternoon. I took advantage of the "Weekend" specials at $9.99 which includes rib eye and potato. Ok.. the steak was very thin with no sear. I ordered for the cook to be medium and it was more medium well but the steak is soooooo thin. The baked potato was good. I ordered the potato with sour cream and butter. No butter. For 9.99, it was ok... If I had paid full price of $17.99, I would be furious. Customer service was fine. There is a "weird" to-go door that opens to a small room that needs cleaning and the door was propped open with a rock. This Ruby Tuesday has some real strengths. It's probably my favorite chain sit-down restaurant in the Dallas area. The greatest of those is their garden bar. Really impressive! The items were all well-stocked and fresh. The diversity of items available in the bar are impressive. Spring greens, Romaine, spinach, wasabi peas, bacon, diced ham, candied walnuts, craisins, bleu cheese, innumerable dressings, and the famous Ruby Tuesday croutons. They even had some delicious flatbread slices. I was really impressed and enjoy it immensely. As for our ordered appetizers and entrees, both were excellent. Their hickory bourbon flavored items are excellent. They were very kind about letting me substitute certain toppings on my sandwich. They have some excellent servers. Katie, Amber, and Justin were all superb; ask for them. Katie and Amber especially went above and beyond, keeping my drink stocked, bringing extra pickles, and all without complaint and with a great smile and personality. Almost all the staff work together well and help each other out; it makes for a terrific environment. The bathrooms were fairly clean (not immaculate, but sufficient). The parking lot was spacious and clean, the landscaping well kept. I've never been a fan of Ruby Tuesday atmosphere; it's a bit like old leftover decor from the Matrix movie, but they did well. One minor complaint: the set-up of the restaurant could be problematic when it's crowded. The garden bar starts right where you walk in, and there is no waiting area for guests. So if there are people waiting for a table, or if the garden bar is held up, you're going to be getting cozy with some strangers. All in all, I was impressed and go there regularly, especially if I have a coupon. A worthwhile place. They do accept and encourage reservations. Edit: Their So Connected email program is a worthwhile enrollment. They send out frequent and really good coupons (BOGO, $5 lunch, free dessert with purchase of two entrees). Came in today ( Sunday Sept 2, 2018 around 4. I had received a coupon for a meal for 2 via email, which consisted of 2 endless salad bars, 2 entrees of 6oz steak or half rack baby back ribs, or chicken fresco, or blackened tilapia with a side, and a dessert, all for only $24.99 total. Wife ordered ribs with artichoke side, and I had steak with mashed potatoes. Ribs and steak were great, mashed potatoes great, and for dessert we had a chocolate sundae cake, thing was massive! This was a GREAT deal, so much food for the money. I was full by the time I finished the salad. Our server was Shawn, this guy knows the menu, is very friendly, very professional, and takes care of his customers, not being too much in your face but still attentive. Great service Shawn, thank you! Place is a little dated but clean and staff is friendly. Very consistent quality. Still smells like dirty mop water, tho, but it's a solid 4 restaurant. Review from last year (2017): My wife and I go here about once a month. We enjoy most of the dishes and the salad bar, and if you join their email you can get some really good coupon deals. We've never had any problem with the staff that I can recall. The only reason that I can't give it a four or five star rating is because the place smells like a wet mildewed mop, every time we go in there, so I suspect they're not changing out their mop water frequently or something. read more

It's unfortunate that this place used to be our go to restaurant close to home several times a month. My husband and I had stopped going here for a while because it had become a hit or miss and usually a miss! Service and food had become an issue. We went in several weeks ago and it was very slow, however we seen people sitting at the two tops, behind bar and in cooking area but were NEVER greeted! My husband said well I'll go wash my hands then. He came out and STILL no one working had or did acknowledge us . Just carried on laughing and doing whatever. We were told to wait in a half empty restaurant. After 30 minutes of watching others be seated, I confronted the host and was told we had been forgotten. The ribeye was only quarter inch thick and overcooked despite ordering instructions. After waiting on a replacement steak for 30 minutes, we just left. The manager was passive and unresponsive (simply put, useless). The host was absent minded and appeared on drugs. Our waiter lost the order, seemed nice, but ultimately, I think he was just retaliating for coworkers or instructed by his manager. My goal is to provide as many negative reviews as possible including the Better Business Bureau. PS: Don't believe Ruby Tuesdays response. I wanted to make a nice meal at home, but the Mr. insisted that we go out. He didn't want me to cook. I chose to try out Ruby Tuesday. From the outside it looked like a mad house, but I expected that. I proceeded to go inside because it will be crowed everywhere on Valentines. To my surprise it wasn't that bad. Most of the customers were seated close to the entrance it looked wild from outside. I didn't want to dine in. Therefore I helped myself over to the bar and ordered take out. I ordered hickory salmon, zucchini and mashed potatoes. No drink, I'm a water girl. Oh! I got an apple crumb pie...that was more for the Mr. I don't eat too many sweets anymore. The lady who took my order at the bar was nice. She smiled a lot and checked to see if I needed anything to drink while waiting. I looked around the restaurant while waiting on the order. I wondered why everyone was packed liked sardines in the front and there were so much seating near the back. Perhaps a lot of people left before I arrived. The empty tables were dirty and there were plenty of wait staff to clean the tables. There was food on the floor as well. Since I am an entrepreneur I know how important impressions are. I waited for my food for nearly 40 minutes. That was long enough for the tables and floor to be cleaned. I kept looking back from my seat, but no one ever cleaned the mess. The salad bar looked plentiful and appeared to be clean. I read the past complaints about it. I noticed some of the staff baby sitting that area quite a bit. That's great! We don't need cross contamination . I also like the fact it was well lit around the salad bar. Once I got home and opened my plate. The entree looked very succulent. I couldn't wait to dig in. It was awesome. The fish wasn't over or undercooked, the seasoning was perfect. The hickory sauce over the fish had a subtle flavor; The mash potatoes were great, and the spices were perfect. Thank goodness there weren't any butter drowning it out. They were nice and fluffy with a bit of texture. I'm a sucker for good veggies. My zucchini was tender, with light seasoning. They appeared to be grilled. I give my overall meal an A. However I had to go with three stars because cleanliness is imperative. It was my first impression of the place. I took a pinch of the dessert, but I didn't eat the ice cream. My stomach hates dairy. The apple crumb tasted like the crust of a pie. It was ok. It wasn't anything to write to granny from heaven about. However, keep in mind, I didn't have the ice cream and I have cut back on sweets. I will eat at Ruby Tuesday's again.
