Nice location but definitely under staffed. We had to wait a long time but the food was great. The pancake was a little crispy.. wasn't expecting that. Bathrooms were kinda gross. Service was friendly when we finally got some.

Quick breakfast after church. I wanted some fish so we went to Thumbs Up in Austell. It sits at the end of a plaza with lots of free parking. We had to wait for about 10 minutes for a table to be seated. It was packed and no seating in the small space. After we were seated, I ordered an Arnold Palmer, fried fish and grits with scrambled eggs with tomatoes. Cant really go wrong with a great breakfast. Just wish the service was a little better but short staff is the new normal. Thanks Thumbs Up. SYOY

I ordered DoorDash and the food was great!! They forgot my grits but that didn't even matter once I tasted the food! Looking forward to trying the grits next time! Definitely will be back to eat inside the restaurant.

First time visiting. Food is pretty good. It just took a while to come out. Forgot my order of grits but brought it out after a while. Will visit again cause the food is tasty.

This is a 5 out of 5 from the entire family. We've been here many times and will definitely be back. It's definitely a "local" place and the food is more "comfort" and not really frilly. It's a small place and is always busy. The servers are also very nice, friendly, and otherwise do a great job taking care of you. My favorite thing here - the multigrain biscuits. It's not your usual buttermilk biscuit, but oh-so-worth the carb splurge. Even better, it's served with real butter and fresh jam. YUMMM!

I really wish I could say I enjoyed this place or the food. To be honest this was my second time coming but my first time dining in. First time was a to go order that I placed in advance and still waited 15 mins after arriving for. I arrived after the breakfast rush the table were less than 1/2 full so I waited around until a waitress told me to sit anywhere. Then I waited around several minutes till I got a menu, then several more mins to be asked if I wanted a drink. 10 mins after arriving before I could ask for a cup of tea and water. The tea came 5 mins later the water after I was done eating. While they were nice the slowest service. 2 star service. The food it's chicken and waffles I didn't expect anything fancy but the waffle tasted like either the mix was sitting out and separated or it wasn't mixed enough 3 bites in I tasted mix yuck. 1 star waffle. The chicken was mid and the eggs which were scrambled tasted like egg beaters vs eggs. 1 star food. When I finally got my water after eating a square of waffle half a tender and 2 bites of egg I asked the very nice waitress for the check, cut my losses and went to dunkin for a coffee. I see soo many great reviews but I just received slow service and really bad food. 2 stars because they have a nice hot tea selection and the waitress while not very attentive were super friendly when they did come around.

Messed our order up. Food was bland. Cream cheese was expired or just a terrible brand. Do not recommend.

I do wish the fried squash had some seasoning, tasted like there was none at all, BUT the crispy coating was so good & crunchy that it didn't matter. We had a long day and just wanted to eat at home, so we decided to place a takeout order. After browsing the website, we settled on the Salisbury steak meal, a veggie plate, lemon pepper wings with fries, a chicken tender meal, and a slice of strawberry cake. Second good point: the website was user-friendly. However, when I tried to place the order, the payment wouldn't go through. My husband called the restaurant, and we were told they were having some technical difficulties with their system--but we could place the order over the phone instead. Third good point: the person we spoke to was friendly and helpful. The food was hot and fresh when my husband brought it home. Overall, everything was good--there were a few minor issues, but nothing that was a deal breaker: The mac and cheese was a bit dry, and the cheese wasn't fully melted. The collard greens were a little too salty, and the chicken tenders were pretty bland. The icing on the strawberry cake was also a bit too sweet for my taste--but that might just be personal preference. Other than that, everything was delicious. I'm looking forward to actually going inside next time, whether to dine in or get takeout.

BF looked it up and saw that it was the diner from Stranger Things, so we had high hopes. Well. Here's the good: Everything was made to order. The chicken fried steak was AMAZING and our waitress couldn't have been any sweeter. The bad: My god this place is run down. Talking ripped booth seats, chipped plates, etc. We waited an hour for our food because yes the food is made to order, but it's only one guy doing it all. At the half hour mark we decided we were already committed, so we just stayed. The mid: The sides were just meh. Mashed potatoes, deviled eggs, crumbly dry cornbread. Honestly the fried okra was pretty good but it's hard to mess that up. Overall, it was ok, it was cheap, but I wouldn't come back.

Our server was very friendly and attentive. We all had Caesar salads for our sides and they brought our rolls as well. Both were really tasty. My cousin for the Gyro platter and he said it was very good. I got the chicken Alfredo and while it was tasty, there was a LOT of sauce. It kind of overpowered everything and probably would have been better if it was just a little less. My fiance got the chicken parm and he said it was good but his sauce was a little chunky. He did really enjoy the chicken though! My cousin got the baklava for dessert and I got the chocolate molten cake. Both were really great. However, once…read moreyou get off, traffic in the left lane on Thornton Road at the first light is backed up so far that you may not be able to get into the lane. Thornton Road in general seemed nightmarish in terms of traffic. We ended up going about a half mile north, doing a U-turn at the next possible light, and coming back. However, then it was unclear where you should turn. We turned too early and had to detour on some road in back of several business. To make it easy on future visitor for navigation, if you are heading south on Thornton Road towards I-20, the Olive Tree is between the McDonald's and some seafood place with a large sign called Cod Tail. After you pass the McDonald's you can turn in and access the plaza where Olive Tree is located. It was NOT easy. Parking is in a shared lot for the plaza out front and was adequate. Once we actually made it inside, things were great. This restaurant reminds me a lot of Provino's, a small chain of Italian places around the north side of Atlanta. The Olive Tree is like Provino's half-Greek cousin. Some of the dishes are similar, the background music is similar, etc. The menu is split fairly evenly between Italian and Greek dishes. We ordered one each (lasagna and ghanoush). Both were good. We also split a salad. They also had a dessert case as you enter, though we did not indulge in one. They also have a full bar (which we didn't try). Prices were reasonable. If we lived closer, I could see becoming a semi-regular here. If you are in the area, it is definitely worth checking out.
