First time here. While in town, we went for breakfast before a long day at the hospital. I did online check in. We arrived after being told no wait and it was a wait. There were empty tables that were clean and empty tables that needed wiped off. I have no idea why it took so long...but our food was worth the wait. Our food was delicious, hot and just what we needed.

I've been to this location several times, but I feel like every time I go, I like it a little less. We went around lunchtime on a Friday and it was crowded but we got seated pretty quickly. The music was so loud and bass-heavy. It was really annoying. Most of the folks there were families with little ones or senior citizens, so I'm not sure who that music was for but it made it hard to talk. Our waitress was really attentive at first and then it was hard to get what we asked for or see her again. We had to ask for lemon for our water twice before getting it. We asked for a box at the end and then she never came back, so we had to go up to the front to ask for one. The iced coffee was just okay, nothing special for the price. The menu is very meat-heavy. And the few vegetarian items have the exact same veggies and cheese, so if you don't like sun dried tomatoes and goat cheese, you're out of luck. I get that it probably makes it easier for the kitchen, but some varied vegetarian options would be amazing. I got the smoked salmon frittata, which was just ok. Too many tomatoes, not enough salmon. I also wanted more sour cream or something for it. I subbed grits for the salad, and they too were just ok, pretty bland. My dad got the lemon ricotta pancakes, which were huge (two meals) and he really enjoyed them. My mom got half a veggie sandwich, which had at least an inch on raw spinach on it, and half a sweet honey pecan salad (without chicken or bacon). The salad was actually really good. Do all of the salads have to come with meat? I know we can get them without it, but then we're still paying for it. Overall, I don't feel the need to go back again.

The time around was better than the last. I like my waitress and the service she displayed. She made sure I was taken care of, even while dining on the patio. It was a nice day to be outside eating, so that was another plus. I ordered the steak hash to go and ordered the half salad and half sandwich dining in. All of the dishes were pretty good. I really enjoyed the honey pecan chicken salad.

I ordered the Power Breakfast Bowl to go and was very clear that I did not want eggs, meat, sausage, cheese, or any other animal products because I wanted it to be a vegan meal. When I got home and opened my order, it had eggs in it. I've been coming to this location for the past two years, and I've never had such a disappointing experience. The service was also much slower than usual. We waited about 15 minutes just to receive our coffee and water, and then my order was still prepared incorrectly. This is the first time I've had such poor service here, and I hope the team pays closer attention to customers' dietary requests in the future.

First watch at Cumberland Plwy have made some drastic changes to their restaurant design. They have strategically made greater usage of space. The front entrance has been resigned as well as the restroom front entrances. It just makes sense. I chose the traditional breakfast with turkey sausage and a Belgian waffle. For the beverage I had a morning mediation. My first round of over easy eggs came out overly hard, but my server Trinity stepped up and had the chef whip together a set of perfectly timed easy eggs. It was epic. How many times have we dined out and had to get something replaced and it came at the end of the dining experience? My food was still warm when the eggs came out. I was grateful. I actually like First Watch at this location. The food is healthier than most breakfast spots in Atlanta. First Watch focuses on Non-GMO dishes which all restaurants should have this as a requirement. The drink are always fresh and in good taste. I give this experience 4.5 starships. I have no complaints.

Food came out fast, but our service was slow and nothing to brag about. We agreed to sit outside since the wait was 20-30 minutes.. Luckily, they had heaters! It was a decent experience overall. They just need a bigger space.

    Potatoes to go.

We order lunch online to go today for a l:40 pickup that was not ready . Had to wait until 2:05. Roast beef havarti and mushrooms frittata was good. Half of the potatoes were burnt . They do not scrape the overcooked pieces away . It is hit or miss when you order the potatoes in the restaurant or to go. I thought I would try the new little biscuits with honey butter. Unfortunately, they were not like the tempting photo on the menu instead it was a big biscuit cut into 6 pieces with sugar on top. I will stick with the side of biscuit and gravy for next time.

We frequently visit this First Watch location, but unfortunately our last two visits have been very disappointing. Although we were seated promptly, we were not greeted by our server for several minutes. On both occasions, I had to return to the hostess stand after waiting 5-10 minutes just to get assistance. During our most recent visit, the waitress assigned to our table made eye contact with me multiple times but never came over. When I went back to the hostess stand, another staff member--who was not our assigned server--assisted us right away and was very pleasant. Overall, the service has been extremely slow lately. It also took quite a while for our food to arrive. I observed that the waitress assigned to us had other tables nearby that she also did not check on consistently. She took their orders and delivered beverages, but did not return until their food was ready and it was time for payment. Manager Eddie did come by toward the end of our meal, listened to our concerns, and comped our meal, which we appreciated. He was professional and attentive. We hope to see improvements in service soon. If not, we will have to reconsider dining at this location in the future

    The Works Omelette.

Having been here before, my husband and I wanted to give this place another chance. We both ordered the HONEY CARAMEL CRUNCH ICED COFFEE, which is salted caramel and honey topped with a sweet cream cold foam and toffee nut crumbles. We both agreed that it was tasty. For my breakfast I decided to order the WORKS OMELET, which is ham, bacon, sausage, house-roasted crimini mushrooms, onions and tomatoes with cheddar and monterey Jack, and topped with all-natural sour cream. I opted not to have bacon in my omelette since we had a Million Dollar Bacon (meh). Everything was just "okay" and we will probably not go back... we tried it again and we were still disappointed.

    farmhouse scramble
    Sarah W.

The food was really good! Had the farmhouse scramble which was delicious. Also ordered the purple haze juice which was SO good and fresh. The atmosphere was cute, it was a pretty day outside so we sat out on the patio and really enjoyed ourselves! Knocking off one star for the overall service. First off, there was a 30 minute wait, which is normal for a Sunday brunch; however, the restaurant itself didn't seem super busy, multiple tables appeared to be empty, so I'm not sure if they were just short staffed? Once we were seated, our waitress was really nice, but we had to wait a while before she came to take drink orders. Once we ordered, everything came out quickly, but my friend's meal came out missing some of the veggies that were supposed to be included in her scramble, and she had to ask for those veggies to be brought after on the side. Overall great food and atmosphere and had a great meal, just a few kinks that could be worked out in the future regarding flow/service.

After being seated just before 3pm, it took almost an hour to even get beignets. I had to ask for water for our table because our waitress was all over the place and forgot. Our silverware had only knives (2 in one) no forks. Our orders were the simplest thing (avocado toast, eggs, bacon, coffee) and we didn't get the beignets until almost 3:45pm. It wasn't even busy the way I've seen it be on other weekends so the delay for a such a small party seemed odd. Multiple tables around us had theirs before our waitress even remembered to bring fried bread? Wild. I asked if the egg that was part of my meal was boiled, they said it was poached and surprise -- it was boiled. So they didn't know the menu. My food was obviously put together quickly (after complaining about the wait to the manager) and was so bland, I don't see the point in coming back. I know they have better dishes, but the simple ones shouldn't be that complicated. The whole situation made no sense from the beginning to end. It's ironic that the manager said we would be in great hands as we got seated, because my experience was anything but great. Two stars because they were at least polite about it, but that was ridiculous.

Barton was my waiter and he was very friendly and thoughtful, paid attention to details, and checked in often, making the experience really great They give you free biscuits, cornbread, and butter which are pretty good, I devoured them. Very nice touch and made the whole experience elevated as well. For food, I ordered the blackberry nogrito, crab cakes, and shrimp and grits. The blackberry nogrito was very good but quite sweet, it came off as a blackberry mint mocktail similar to a mojito but the syrup flavor was a bit strong. The crab cake appetizer was delicious, probably my favorite thing! It was huge and the flavor was strong but not overpowering or heavy, which made for a really nice appetizer! It came with a mayo like sauce and was on a bed of corn for some flavor variety, but really enjoyed the crab cake. It also came out PIPING hot and was very enjoyable. The shrimp and grits came with a Smokey almost gumbo like sauce, kind of like a Cajun take on shrimp and grits. It was filled with shrimp that was very bouncy (not overcooked!), smoked ham/sausage, and was very generous on the sauce and grits. Was very enjoyable. Will definitely come back for the exceptional service and good food!

Food: 5/5 We decided to try a leisurely lunch. The menu is not large, but it has enough variety to be interesting. Everything we tried was delicious. The smoked salmon appetizer portion was large, but the best part was the great flavor. I can see why this choice has been on the menu for years. The Vidalia onion soup will be a surprise for the non-Georgians who expect it to be similar to a savory beef broth like French onion soup. Georgia's onions from the Vidalia area are sweet and tasty enough to carry the soup without the help of a meat broth and the green pesto sauce offers a nice additional touch. The salmon on fresh salad was done perfectly. The panka-crusted cod with mashed potatoes and spinach was outstanding. Both were seasoned so lightly that the true flavors shone through. The portions were generous enough that dessert at the time would have been too much, but others can do as we did and take home one of the dessert choices. Next time we plan to try their sandwiches which looked yummy at other tables. Service : 5/5 Service was excellent from the pleasant greeting, through the entire meal. Our server, Clayton, couldn't have been more helpful with the menu, as well as being very efficient and amiable. He made sure our food was served promptly and our beverages glasses were full, and our requests were met quickly. Facility: The facility lends itself to the riverside experience from the canoe in the entryway ceiling to the flowers and bird feeders just beyond the patio tables. The white tablecloth ambiance informs you that this isn't a fast-food experience. There are tents set aside in a more private are of the garden as a lovely venue for special events Location : This isn't a quick roadside stop next to a 6-lane highway. Even though the restaurant is convenient to dine in an Atlanta suburb, the roads to the restaurant wind and meander for a short distance through one of the prettiest neighborhoods, with a canopy of large old trees, with lovely fences, hedges, and gates lining the road. There is courteous valet parking at the front door. The restaurant is not inexpensive but it is well worth the prices paid, in our opinion.

Canoe had been on my list for years, so I was excited when my husband surprised me with…read morereservations for my birthday. The experience started off beautifully. The hostess was welcoming, and we enjoyed waiting by the lake before being seated. When our table turned out to be directly under a cold air vent, the staff happily moved us to a more comfortable spot. The onion soup wasn't what we expected based on the menu description, and my salmon arrived much rarer than anticipated. After sending it back, it was cooked perfectly, though the flavor was just okay. My husband loved his entrée, and the complimentary birthday dessert was a thoughtful touch. Despite a couple of hiccups, the beautiful atmosphere and attentive service made for an enjoyable evening. I'd definitely return and try something different next time.
