Met and acquaintance here for coffee. There was hardly anyone inside, maybe 2 or 3 ppl. We ordered and found a spot to sit. The lady who took our order was nice. I do hate they stopped selling the mimosas. I ordered the iced honey bee latte. It was really good. read more

I've had bad service here in the past but decided to give it another shot this morning. Fool me once . . . When I walked it, there was one lady in the back cooking and one lady sitting on the food expediting counter looking at her phone. Sitting in yoga pants on a counter in a restaurant where food will be passing over. Nice. Neither acknowledges me or greets me, but I'm off to the side reading the menu. Fine, not a big deal. I decide what to order and approach the register, front and center. Lady in the back continues cooking. Lady sitting on the counter continues to sit and look at her phone. Doesn't look up at me. Occasionally will look around the store blankly but never at me. Charitably, I assumed she didn't work there, maybe a friend of the cook keeping her company. Maybe the cook would be out to take my order when she's done. After at least a minute or two, the cook comes from the back. The counter lady puts her phone down and stands up. Sweet! Finally I can pay $8 for a very mediocre bacon, egg, and cheese croissant. Now they're both standing in front of me, yet to say a word. I say hello and the counter lady says hi. And that's it for communication. They stand there blankly staring at me. I'm standing there experiencing the absolute oddest interaction I've ever had in a restaurant in front of two people who don't look like they're experiencing much at all. They looked at me but wouldn't say anything. They stood there for probably a solid 2 minutes staring at me. Finally I just turned around and left. If I were the owner and saw this interaction I would fire both of them. What an absolute terrible way to present your business. I will never come back. I will never recommend this place. If someone asks me about it, I'll tell them to actively avoid it. It's overpriced to begin with so you'd expect there to be something to make up for it. What an absolute waste of a great spot in downtown Smyrna. read more

I was searching for a new café to try and found this neighborhood spot. I had the Caribbean Latte, and it was so good , it was a great recommendation from the cashier. This place is very family oriented, with a chalkboard for kids to draw on and a homey vibe. You can work from this location while enjoying food and drinks. They open at 7 a.m. and, I believe, close at 7 p.m. When I went, it was nice and quiet. This is definitely a hidden gem, I will be back soon. I also had the turkey pesto sandwich, and it was great. There's plenty of parking and good customer service. read more

Been coming to this cafe for years ordering the same sandwich and I do have to say the sandwiches are good but lately ordering my same sandwich that I have been for years has been getting more difficult to get it right but I look pass that because of getting great customer service from certain employees but today my first experience having a bad one with a certain employee and long wait time on my drink, most likely won't be coming back here as much read more

Nice place to stop for brunch. While I thought the portion sizes were pretty small, I enjoyed the breakfast burrito with a side of fresh fruit. The strawberries and blueberries were a nice surprise, and the burrito was full of flavor. There isn't much charm within the cafe - it looks a little worn down, but it's a nice place to catch up with a friend. You order at the counter and seat yourself. read more

The customer service was good. Tasty coffee and delicious french toast. I've only been once but will definitely visit again.

I used to like this spot but the last few times I've been here it hasn't been great. This was my second visit here meeting up with my dad on a quick trip to Atlanta. And I have got to say, I love this breakfast place! It's in a really neat little shopping area with plenty of parking and lovely green spaces. There is outside seating and ample inside too. It's dog friendly meaning you can actually bring your dog inside which is rare. There were so many people with their dogs. They have plenty of drink options. I got the chai tea is it was great! Yelp game me a 15% off cou one for checking in so make sure you do that and use it! I got the French toast the first time and sweet potato Pancakes the second. Both were yummy. The sweet potato pancakes would be perfect for Someone that doesn't want really sweet breakfast. Next time I'm trying the pastries. There is a large kids section and what I think might be art from local artists. Love this place! read more

I like their food prices and offerings and the location is killer. No one else seems to offer these nice breakfast sandwiches at a reasonable price point. SO I want this place to be good. But with the dining room being so dirty and falling apart I can't imagine what the kitchen looks like. They also have poor ventilation for the kitchen so it is often so smoky it gives me a headache and your clothes smell like burnt toast when you leave. I can walk to this location but choose to skip it for the most part or drive elsewhere. I wish they could turn it around. read more

I was being serviced at the nail salon across the street and stopped by to grab a quick bite to eat. The cafe offers both inside and outside seating though; I favored outside as inside seemed hazing and smokey. I liked how they had an area for children to entertain themselves as the cafe is extremely family friendly. The cashier that took my order lacked "that" personal touch. It could just have been personality or the fact it was in the end of the Saturday morning rush. With it being a coffeeshop and all the noises that comes with it, I wish the young lady preparing the drinks used her outside voice to announce when someone's drink was ready. The food and drink were delicious. "The Reg" consisted of bacon, egg, and, cheese in a buttery croissant. It was actually quite a filling sandwich. read more

I came here a couple of times to get some writing done. Twice I ordered one of their signature/special flavored lattes, and I asked for half the amount of espresso since I don't really like the coffee taste to be too overpowering. Both were diff flavors and still tasted like straight up coffee bean. No white chocolate, raspberry, or whatever that was that I ordered in the flavor profile. I also ordered some food. Pancakes once, which were small and not memorable, and the hasbrowns with onions and peppers or something. Also not great, and too oily. The ambience is fine, but not very clean. People are moving in and out of the tables and booths and because you seat yourself, nobody seems to be actively wiping off tables or cleaning food bits from the floor in between customers. I chose not to go back because even if I'm not going to eat, I prefer for the place I plan to sit for a few hours to be neater and less grimy feeling. read more

I was in the area and needed a "pick me up." I heard Cafe Lucia had good sandwiches and lattes, so I decided to stop by and see what they were about. The cafe is very spacious. There were patrons doing work while enjoying their drinks/food. I walked right up to the counter to browse the menu. The employee was very helpful and gave me a couple recommendations. I went with the Turkey Pesto Sandwich on a croissant and the Caramel King Latte. The sandwich was delicious! The latte was just ok. I would go back to try more food items and their specialty drinks. The cafe also serves mimosas, beers, and wine. read more

I settled on Cafe Lucia as a comfy work from home spot, and I was glad I did. Parking is plentiful on the street and in a lot behind the establishment. The menu is clearly posted on chalkboards and they have a large selection of drink syrups. The chipotle BLT was delicious, even though it didn't match the menu. The menu said focaccia but it was actually served on a croissant. I didn't mind this, but it's something to be aware of. The strawberry lemonade was delicious. I'll return! read more

I ordered the Avo Veg ($8.75) and added a scrambled egg ($1.50). It is avocado, tomato, peppers, onions, and feta served in naan bread. It was good, but I wish the avocado was sliced instead of mashed like guacamole. I also ordered the Reese's latte with oat milk. read more

Today we waited 45 mins for 2 sandwiches, a coffee and a chocolate muffin. Although the food was tasty, waiting in an empty cafe for that long for food that was okay wasn't worth it. The 2 girls who were working were lovely but didn't seem like they cared about how long it took. It's a shame, it's a great location and the sandwiches were nice, but we could've gone somewhere else close by for the same quality and better service and atmosphere read more

This Cafe has a good location & friendly staff. The food is decent, but the coffee is hit-or-miss. BUT, the big issue is the perennially decrepit dining area. All of the booths are worn & torn & you feel like the springs are gonna stick you in the rear end. Indeed, One of the booth seats is FFFN DANGEROUS because you could sit on it & get a bad cut & bruises (after a couple years of this, they finally put a sign on it...why not just fix it?) THEN, there is the constantly terrible air quality - the Kitchen doesn't seem to have ventilation & the exhaust fills the dining area. This is so bad that the staf has to keep the front door open all the time...which then invites pests inside - too many Flies, Gnats & yes, Mosquitos in warmer weather. The owner(s) need to put a little bit of care into this because it kinda tells customers that they care less. The last time I went to Cafe Lucia, the Restroom (usually not in good shape) was out of order. I'm sorry! But this is unacceptable. Perhaps it's time for the Health Dept to make a real inspection. This ownership needs to get its act together because this should be a great place to go. Instead, it's a big disappointment & the few customers that come in are being taken advantage of. My opinion is that no one should visit this place until the ownership shows that they care. read more

Looking for a cup of coffee, perhaps a nice breakfast or lunch sandwich...or maybe even a glass of wine while wondering around Smyrna Market Village? If so, Café Lucia may be the spot for you! Located practically in the center of Smyrna Market Village sits this little unassuming coffee shop with double doors sided with two squared off bay windows and topped with a simple white sign with a purple coffee kettle. With all the windows on the doors and, well, the windows, you can't help but to look in and wonder what goodies they have to share. I will admit that I have lived in the area and many Yelp searches have flashed that coffee and pancake picture up when searching for my iced mocha and a biscuit, yet I never ventured in...until recently when I was wondering around SMV and of course, needed my Iced Mocha fix! I ventured in and was greeted immediately, I was the only patron in store at the time, so I looked over the menu for a few moments debating if I wanted to add one of the pastries or sandwich to my order. I decided not to, but they have a decently impressive menu for such a small spot that specializes in beverages. Breakfast features a Build Your Own sandwich and/or omelet. You can choose from (5) types of bread, (6) types of meats, (6) cheeses and (5) veggies. So, the possibilities are plenty! In addition, they also offer up specials from time to time and on the day I visited they had French toast and sweet potato pancakes! For lunch you have just as much variety with the pre-built sandwiches ranging from a BLT to a grilled cheese and even a hummus sandwich. Along with the sandwiches, you can create your own salad with a variety of greens, meats, veggies and dressings. All food items are $10 of less with most of the sandwiches (breakfast and lunch) being less than $7.00. In addition to the selection of food, they also got you covered if you happen to be thirsty! They are known for their coffee drinks which they have in hot or cold varieties, while also having hot teas too! If you are looking for something a little more exciting then you can grab a smoothie or one of their specialty chiller or latte drinks. And these flavors are special! They got lavender, Reeses (yes, Reeses!), Black Forest (cherry and chocolate), Caramel, Caribbean, Berry White and Honeybee. As mentioned above for the food, the prices are very reasonable and in some cases, quite cheap. Their hot coffee starts at $1.95 and goes up to $85 for a large latte, while their iced only comes in medium and large, starting at $2.75 and up to $4.85. Even their specialty drinks only range from $4.75 - $5.05. (These prices are as of 1/1/2021) Space wise, Café Lucia is on the smaller side, but has a decent dine in space for when we come out of this Covid era. They also have a couch situated in front of a TV for more informal coffee talks. Additionally, they have a lone high top inside and few tables outside along the side walk for those pretty GA days. Currently they have very limited inside seating and mainly operate as a to-go spot. Overall, my Iced White Mocha hit the spot and only cost me $5.00. I supported local and got my fix - so massive win win situation there! Café Lucia is on my go-to places and soon I will give the food a try and report back! read more

I came in and ordered some iced drinks and a grilled cheese sandwhich. The young lady took my order and said it would be about 10-15 minutes on the sandwhich. There were no other customers so they didn't have much to do so they were all on their phones sitting on the counters. I didn't mind, I know how it is when you're young and bored at work. I waited and waited and after about 20 minutes, I asked the young lady about my order and she said, "what order?" I told her I was waiting on a sandwhich and they all turned and looked at each other. They forgot and said it would be 10-15 minutes for the sandwhich. I was upset but didn't make a big deal about it and asked for a refund. The girl didn't even apologize and proceeded to give me my money back. I like this place, but the lack of urgency and customer service will keep me from coming back. Not to mention, in the 20-25 minutes that I waited for the sandwhich, I was looking around and the place is pretty dirty. Dust balls(bunnies) and dirt all over the floors. An adult needs to come in and make changes to the place. read more

This cafe is in the heart of Smyrna. Small coffee shop with great ambiance. I've been to this location twice. I've ordered The Classic, The Reg and an iced chai tea latte. The iced Thai tea latte was bomb! The breakfast sandwiches were good too and both are served on a butter croissant. Staff is friendly and service is fast. I was running errands in the area and needed a Java pick me up so I stopped in to Cafe Lucia. Like every place else in Smyrna there is a mask mandate and they have X's on the ground for social distancing measures. The cafe is located in busy Smyrna village. While there is parking all around there are also other eateries here and on a busy day parking may be a pain. It's a typical cafe with regular tables and chairs inside with about 4 tables out front of the cafe. It has a very laid back quiet vibe with pleasant music playing in the background. It was my first time here so I spent several minutes staring at the menu but the staff was very friendly, answered all my questions and even made some suggestions. I got a coffee and an apple Danish. Coffee is nothing to write home about, but it's not terrible either. The apple danish was pretty good, didn't taste like it was made in house but it hit the spot. Let's talk about the elephant in the room, er... I mean the smoke. And dust. And the cobwebs. Basically let's talk about the fact that no surface over 5ft off the floor has been cleaned, ever. You can look at the lights and the decor and it's absolutely COVERED with stacked dust. Not like a film, but like it's accumulated over the years. I'm guessing the grease vent in the kitchen doesn't work very well because the return register in the main ceiling looks like it's sucked in more grease and smoke than a coal miner. As we sat inside the smell and atmosphere got so bad they opened their front door on a 90 degree afternoon. It was actually hurting my eyes at one point and a number of people were coughing. Looking over other reviews, this seems to be a common theme here. Surprised management doesn't do more. read more

Coffee is pretty good, but I don't care for the food. I've been several times, and have tried several things, and all have been underwhelming.
