This is my go to spot. City View Cafe is located OFF of Cumberland Blvd, on the first level, in an office building. They are open from 7-3, Mon-Fri for breakfast and lunch. They offer dine in and pick up. There are 4 levels of free parking, plenty of 2 hour visitor parking, plenty of handicap parking and 2 parking spaces to charge your car. I usually enter the parking garage about 12:10 for lunch and find a lot of building entrance level spaces available. Before then, you'll most likely have to park on another level, there is an elevator and stairs. During this time, there is a designated Enter door into the office building. As soon as your enter, City View Cafe is on the right. There are bathrooms located behind the concierge's desk. There is also, a designated EXIT door for City View Cafe. At the entrance of City View Cafe, you'll find a menu on the door of the weekly specials. When entering, there is a self serve salad bar that is usually filled with fresh salad ingredient's, but not during this time. John and Christine have added an open cooler for pre-made salads by the register. There are tables in the cafe and they are open for seating, they have removed some tables to give plenty of room for social distancing. There are also tables outside. This place is super clean, always, even before now. John and Christine are wearing masks and have signs up for everyone to wears masks. There is an email for the ones who have signed up, that is sent on Sunday night, it is the weeks menu and announcements. At the opposite end of the register, is where to place your order, there are distancing markers on the floor. There is a daily menu on the board here, in more detail. At this end is also the hot line and you're able to see the hot menu items. I love egg salad, I am very picky about it. I have been going here for years for egg salad and Christine knows exactly how I like it (she puts my bread on the panini press, she makes my egg salad, not to runny, not too dry, lite lettuce, red onion) perfect! I have also had lots other fresh items: fish tacos, philly cheesesteak, and chicken pot pie, lasagna. The lasagna, goes really fast, get there early or call. One time, I was there at 12:22 and the lasagna was gone!! it made me sad. BUT!!... my all time favorites here, BULGOGI and BIBIMBAP, fresh kimchi, fresh cut vegetables, fish cakes and so much more, entirely fresh, even the sauce made from scratch. John is an excellent chef, he loves what he does and you can tell by the taste of his food. Christine is the sweetest ever, if she has gotten to know you and she's able to get step away from the register, she will be asking about your day, your job, your pet, your school and your family, all while telling you to eat more!! John and Christine's City View Cafe, is the perfect little Mom and Pop shop. If you're driving by, give this palce a try. This is not your ordinary office building cafe, where normally people only choose to eat there as a last option. When you walk in, you'll order where you can see the specials printed on fun letter-sized paper on the wall. Usually, someone will greet you and ask for your order; Similar to Chipotle, you're able to see what you can choose if you order one of their specials. You can ask for samples, and you have the liberty of choosing what two sides you'd like. There are usually a handful of options. City View Cafe serves your typical breakfast menu items such as grits, oatmeal, bacon, sausage patty or link, biscuits, omelettes, etc. They. even. serve. pancakes. They have assorted teabags and a Keurig with assorted k-cups from sbux, DD, etc. In addition, they have a wide variety of drink options in their coolers, a fountain drink option, and snacks such as milanos, m&m's, SCRUMPTIOUS homemade brownies, and cliff bars. They also have a good assortment of individual packets of medicine (Advil, DayQuil, allergy medicine, etc) and toiletries (toothbrush, chapstick, etc). City View Cafe begins serving lunch from 11:00am to 1:30/2:00pm. On top of your regular deli menu items (cheeseburgers, gyros, Philly cheesesteaks, BLTs, wraps, French fries, etc), they have 2-3 hot food/special menu items and sides that change daily. Some examples are Royal Panini with chips, Chicken Tenders & fries, Baked Spaghetti, Baked Chicken, Coconut Breaded Butterfly Shrimp & fries. They also have soups (and bomb Turkey Chili!) on T/TR during the summers, and more frequently during the winters. I've once had their Turkey Gumbo soup, and my life was forever changed. I would highly recommend ordering this if it's available! ALSO - If you're a fan of Korean food, they occasionally serve dishes like bibimbap and bulgogi. I would recommend visiting CVC closer to 11:00 for lunch to avoid the lunch rush of the office patrons. Every Wednesday, they serve Taco Salads, an office favorite according to one of their owners, Christine. Christine, the cashier, and John, the main chef, are a married couple who run City View Cafe. CVC is very much a mom and pop run business, where one conversation with Christine makes you want to call your mom because you suddenly miss her so much. If you're planning on grabbing a salad, swing by prior to 1:45pm before they close it down for the day. They have a pretty wide selection in their salad bar with the base options of lettuce, spinach, and kale - along with a nice assortment of salad dressings. They recently renovated the eating area, and the new chairs are surprisingly very comfortable. There is a T.V., so it was nice to be able to watch the World Cup this past summer during lunch. The dining area is well lit by sunlight thru the glass walls. There is an outdoor seating area. I had a BLTA (Bacon Lettuce Tomato Avocado) on white bread toasted. They include a pickle and place a toothpick speared with an olive to hold your sandwich/wrap in place. If you're not a fan of pickles or olives, ask in advance to hold the pickles/olives. The Cajun chicken (spinach or white) wrap is another one of my favorites here. They make the Cajun sauce in house, and if you're a sauce person like me - you'll keep coming back here for more! Overall, I've always had a really wonderful experience here. The food portions for the specials are generally large (esp. for a small woman like myself), so I would often save half (or even more than half) for dinner - which is great for those who might be feeling too lazy to cook dinner later that evening. In terms of price, everything is very reasonably priced. I would highly recommend stopping by this hidden gem if you're ever in the Cumberland/Vinings area! read more

I don't expect much from office cafes since I've experienced some low quality ones but this one is solid. The owner cares for his store and it's evident in the cleanliness and organization of the place. I always appreciate when the owner cares for the details of his business. The owner is very friendly and helpful. They offer the typical fares such as sandwiches, burgers, and some hot meals. They also have a pretty decent salad bar. Their turkey sandwich was really good as well as their crispy fries (very important that fries are crispy) and chicken nuggets. They are on the ground floor against the windows so it's very bright. They have a TV with lots of seating for around 25ish. Overall, it's a solid option for an office cafe. read more

This hidden gem sits off the beaten path in the bottom of an office building. I may have showed up on a workday as the only one walking in with leggings and a t-shirt but it was worth it. The two behind the counter may have been husband and wife and they could not be sweeter. The menu was appropriate to service the office clientele - breakfast and a lunch of sandwiches and a salad bar. $3.99 base price for a veggie omelet. Not too shabby. By the end of my visit I learned that John and Christine have been in their location for two years and are really making an effort to connect not only with the tenants of the building and nearby buildings but also with the nearby apartment complexes and construction crews. Great fresh food made with lots of love, care, and the finest ingredients. These people truly care about their customers, and they will always do their best to meet your needs. You can order one of the daily specials, go to the salad bar, or order off the set menu. Kim & Greg are tremendously friendly and very sweet. There is also a large variety of drinks and snacks to choose from. You will never leave unsatisfied! This hasn't been one of my better lunch experiences... First the location is inconspicuous and located in an office building in the back of an office complex. Parking is free and the cafe is attached to a covered parking garage which was convient on a rainy day. Once inside the cafe, it appeared to be hectic with no direction as to where to go to place an order. There were a number of people standing around which I later discovered as the waiting location for food. The menu appears to have a lot of options, however my first three selections were not available or customizable. I ended up going with a gyro and salad with water which totaled to 10.00. the salad bar is pretty scant in terms of options. There were slots available where food appeared to have been located earlier but they had run out. My biggest complaint for this cafe is the customer service I received or lack there of. When I arrived there were approximately 5 people ahead of me and then after placing my order about 6 more people arrived and ordered hot sandwiches and custom food. The employees appeared to great all of these individuals and spoke to them, welcoming them back for lunch. I was frustrated when I saw all of these people get their food in a timely manner and I was left standing there alone well after they had their food and left. It appeared that they valued their regulars rather than new customers and for this reason I don't feel I will be back. Overall the food is ok, nothing special, but the one plus is the quite atmosphere to get work completed without being disturbed. I don't frequent this part of town very often, but, next time I'm in the area this cafe will not make the list to revisit read more
