Whether it's a quick date, or just grabbing a bite, Marlows is the spot! They have desirable proteins (salmon, waygu, shrimp, chicken etc) and phenomenal sides- my personal favorite is the parmesan truffle fries and the Hail ceasar salad. The drinks are pretty good and the bar is full. I normally go aperol spritz here which is one of my favorite drinks now. What I'm saying is- yall pull up! Just save me a seat! read more

Marlow's the crowd favorite. Can never do you wrong! I come here often for work lunches. It's your traditional American eatery. Full bar, mixed seating and dim lighting. Service is always friendly and fast! The food is of great quality and consistent in their flavoring and preparation. Had a great dinner here. Started with friendly service from the bar tender when we walked in. He was quick to take our drink order and offer some suggestions. We started with the Parmesan Crab Dip. It was good, the crackers served with it had a nice kick of heat that complemented the dip well. I then had the Miso Cod for my entree. It was delicious, and I can see why it's a favorite. A right size portion of cod served over shrimp fried rice, with blistered green beans and sweet chili. The flavors came together great. I'm looking forward to having it again. We came here again for an early dinner and wanted to order the Trout Dip only find out that they took it off the menu and replaced it with the Parmesan Crab Dip. We decided to give it a try and it was just "okay". We prefer the Trout Dip, so we are a little disappointed with that change. For my dinner I ordered the Grilled Atlantic Salmon and the flavors were good, and the potatoes had a nice sauce covering it, however my salmon was a little overcooked. On the inside this Marlow's has the same non-divey pub feel as any other, with an enclosed outdoor patio. I came here with a largeish group for a weekday winter lunch, and unfortunately they asked us to sit outside, although it was at least heated. When we left there still was plenty of seating inside, so not sure why we were asked to eat outside. It took about 10 minutes for someone to come and ask about drinks, we were the only table outside at that time so maybe they forgot us, although to her credit after that our waitress was very attentive. Some people had a good food experience and others did not. Basically anyone who ordered something cooked to temp, such as my Tuna or others' steaks, found their food overcooked. My tuna was supposed to be rare but some pieces were cooked through, and I also thought the portion of fish not that generous. Not terrible but not a place I want to return to. read more

Busy Friday evening, and the host was kind enough to let us know that although there was seating in the heated patio, it was still a bit chilly that evening, so he let us know there were some inside tables opening up if we would be able to wait. Today the new try was the Parmesan crab dip that was served with the most delicious buttery saltines I've ever eaten. When I first ordered it I was excited about the dip but skeptical about why it was being served with saltines but OMG the saltines made the dip not just tasty but outstanding! Decided on an early dinner. Ate at the bar and started a cocktail like all good meals should start. The Nee Fashioned was an outstanding drink. You had the bite of a good whiskey with just enough sweetness from the banana liqueur. The brussel sprouts were also good with a good balance of olive oil a pinch of vinegar. The star of the day was the buddha bowl. I added poke because I had a good poke salad from them before. The flavors were excellent. The quinoa and farro was elan excellent base that really took on the flavor of the red wine vinaigrette. All the veggies add a pleasant crunch. I was pleased and surprised that they did not skimp on the poke. I am used to eating meals like this while trying to conserve the meat until the end. My bride and I decided to try this place last night were on our way home to Frankfurt Illinois and we stay overnight so we went there for dinner. I had a fish sandwich where they put some kind of way vegetable mix with the tempura fish I asked for some cocktail sauce Instead of the normal sauce it came with their in-house chips and it was terrific. Hanna was awesome. She was warm and welcoming and was ready with her favorite recommendations, including the Asian Soy Miso salad. Super disappointed in today's meal. I visit this location twice a month, sometimes 3. Ordered the brisket sandwich which has been our go to and hands down best brisket sandwich in the City! Truly disappointed when we saw that they changed the toppings but went ahead and ordered. It was not good and the worst part was that the cut of brisket is not the same. My favorite "go to" for lunch or early dinner. This location is always accommodating for larger parties and the food is consistent. You must have the Nacho Pizza - you will not want to share. The combo of shrimp, crab on a nacho with pizza vibes is ingenious-kudos to the chef. Also while others are raising prices and giving little chicken wings- you'll find Marlow's wings to be a nice size, generous portions and reasonable in price. My husband eats a little more on the healthier side, his staples here are salmon and the trigger fish! They are always well seasoned, prepared and meals hearty. A few tips: The booth lighting is very dim, it maybe hard to read the menus. Very cool spot. Randomly went one night w a friend. I ordered shrimp n grits & he had a salmon burger and asparagus fries. Both dishes were good. The grits werent what I was used to so when my food arrived i was like wheres my grits. It looked like the shrimp was sitting on bread. Id love to know how they prepared those grits so so good. Im temporarily staying in the area so I would definitely return to order my own asparagus fries and other items on the menu. Haley (i think thats her name) the bartender was friendly. The pub food eg fish tacos is great. But don't waste your money on the restaurant food. I ordered the filet for my daughter's birthday. A filet is a nice round piece of tenderloin cut from the best part of the beef, right? Not at Marlow's. What I got was a bunch of jibbles, not tender enough to deserve the name tenderloin. Nice sauce but it didn't make the tough beef chewable. Extremely disappointing meal. read more

When I want a delicious burger, Marlow's is my go to!! Lately, at the Cumberland location, service is a 4. Some servers make you feel like you're a bother, a little scared to ask for anything other than your order. One of the managers is completely rude and not just to us TWICE, but watched him be rude to another table as they asked for their server after sitting for 25 minutes!!!! Unbelievable! Oh let's not forget the app they offer, the short version you download the app, every visit you check in on your app, give your server the code, which SHOULD show on your receipt to earn points, when you reach 4 points you get $20 off your next bill/meal. You MUST keep track and take screenshots of your points because when you're ready to go back and you open your app, they take a point away like they did me, I'm missing a point as I should be at FOUR! I understand this is not an easy profession but if it doesn't work for you, don't take it out on the PAYING customers!!! For drinks I tried their New fashioned and a Manhattan - New fashioned was way too sweet, Manhattan was tiny but tasted good. For my meal I went with V&G Buddha bowl - Farro, Quinoa, Avocado, Cucumber, Edamame, Radish, Cauliflower, Tomato, Pickled Red Onion, Rice Wine Vinaigrette (which I requested on the side). I also added tuna poke. The presentation was great but it came with the sauce mixed in unfortunately. The bartender was kind enough to have them remake it. I'd order this again for sure.
