Cenacle Bistro is the definition of don't judge a book by its cover. I'm so happy we stumbled upon this hidden gem. My friend and I both ordered the shrimp and grits and they were overly good. I've never had shrimp and grits with an Alfredo-style sauce, but now I get it... I don't want it any other way. The service was just as good as the food. Our waitresses were super kind and friendly. We were seated outside on such a beautiful day but they didn't forget us. They stayed attentive and that made the whole experience even better. My only gripe was the Cinnamon Toast Crunch latte. The flavor was there, but having actual cereal in the drink wasn't my favorite once it got soggy. The texture through the straw was a little off. I think a cinnamon sugar version would've been perfect instead. But honestly, that's minor. I would definitely go back again and again and again. Such a gem! read more

Menu looks real simple and to the point. I ordered 2 Cenacle Honey butter Chicken Biscuits w/ Cheese. Also, I got two Matchas with Espresso. The matchas were good, they tasted like hot chocolate lowkey, but it was made well, no complaints. The biscuits were really good! I like that you can tell it's freshly prepared: the filet was tender, and crispy. The biscuit fresh and the honey blended well with everything. The eggs were runny, the my were crispy and airy. Took my daughter for breakfast on Tuesday. Staff was very friendly. We ordered pancakes and French toast with bacon and eggs. We devoured it!! Didn't get to take a picture. At check out it dawned on me I left my dang wallet/ Id and everything at home. The host was gracious, waited for me to get a pic of my card and manually entered my payment information. WOW! What a great breakfast place. From the moment you walk in the team is supper friendly and helpful. Overall it is a cool place, the ambiance is a vibe. They have seating options both inside and outside. I ordered the Hash-brown casserole with the breakfast bowl and the honey chicken biscuit. Both were great! The hash-brown casserole is a must! The flavor was wonderful and the addition of the fried egg, bacon and cheese only elevated it. The biscuit was flakey and the chicken had great flavor...add the egg and cheese and it just took it over the top. I also got a latte, which was nice to have during the wait for the food. It is not fast food, it definitely took a bit to get my food, not a complaint because it was absolutely with the wait, just a heads up if you are in a rush. We came here after not being seated at another popular brunch spot! We were so glad we came!!! Most of us are from out of town. They welcomed us in, took our orders and served us with a smile and SUPERB customer service. Everything was good and the only good left was from folks who were full! In the 5 years we have lived in the area we have been here only twice. Once in year Ike and it was a terrible experience. Took almost 4 hours for brunch for two people. Food was incorrect. We were the only ones when we arrived and people who arrived after us were served and left before we ever even got our food. We decided it was terrible and never planned to come back. Skip to this past weekend we are in the middle of packing up our home and moving and really wanted a breakfast sandwich for a brunch break but didn't want fast food like Dunkin. So we decided to give it a try. We arrived post church hours so it was busy but we were seated outside immediately. Staff was far more friendly this time. Still not very quick but much faster by far (we were there about 2 hours which is reasonable) our services whose name I did not catch could not have been nicer. We ordered a hash bowl (4/10-it was kind of mushy and the plated they served it in kind of made it look like dog food unfortunately) and French toast which was fine. Nothing special (5/10) but the star was the chicken honey biscuit. That was excellent (10/10) I may go back for another this week for much. My husband had major order envy. I do restored asking for it to come with a larger plate Becca's service it on a Saucer and it is messy. I will want to mention that while we were there the tarp that covered the patio tore and that sent what I assume was collected old dirty rain water shooting down. We *all* got lucky and it didn't hit anyone or any tables but it was very close to us. They offered to let us move tables but it was over by the time they noticed and did so so we stayed where we were assuming it would not happen again. Had that hit us it would have ruined our time as it was dirty water...you may want to consider adding a real roof or removing tarp and letting it just be an uncovered pergola to avoid future issues - had it actually hit us I would ahve expected our meal to be comped so we could leave to go shower immediately...thankfully this is not a conversation or experience we had to have but please consider making needed changes in the future. read more

We stopped by for coffee on a Sat afternoon. The vibes were great. There was a DJ outside! I got a text the following day advertising a live band during brunch. I grabbed a Cinnamon Toast Crunch latte with oat milk. If you like sweet coffee, I highly recommend but it's not overwhelmingly sweet. The workers are super friendly. They all greeted me and were full of smiles. My server took my order and even after he placed my order another employee came to check on me to make sure I was being served. That was sweet. My server was very nice too. I went around 1230pm so it was more on the empty side but had a very relaxing environment. This was the best omelette I had in a very long time!! The eggs had such a pretty color. I wondered if it was vegan eggs with how pretty it was. But my oh my. I need to bring more people to eat here. I will be recommending this restaurant to everyone I know. I had to pivot really hard when it came to my dining adventures for this trip since I expected her to be in school every day. Nevertheless, I wanted to try at least one next black owned restaurant while here and while searching for a breakfast spot, came across The Cenacle. I figured as long as a menu has pancakes or chicken nuggets on it, it's a winner since I know those are two things my 4 year old niece will eat. It's small inside but has a nice patio. Can't wait to try them in the spring. Service is good despite them saying they're needing staff. My salmon and grits with a honey drizzle was phenomenal! They also had catfish and grits and shrimp and grits. I'm sure you can't go wrong with either of them. My niece's pancakes were huge! Like size of your head huge, and tasted like someone's granny is in the back wearing an apron with flour smeared on it! She also loved the Turkey bacon that accompanied it. First of all let me say the food is AMAZING!! But!! ...yes there is a but!!! The the wait time and service is below terrible!! This is actually my third visit in a week. Each time food is amazing. And each time wait is longer and longer!! Mind you the tables aren't full!! So I'm not sure what the hold up is. I brought my uncle on this visit and he is adamant he will NEVER be back regardless of how the food is because of the service and wait time. I asked the servicer what the issue was and she stated short staffed. Considering we were very hungry I asked for complimentary biscuits or something! She stated she could not give that. After waiting for almost an hour....our food still had not come out!! Bottom line....if you got time...u won't be disappointed by the food...but expect a ridiculous wait time...for everything!! I met up with my longtime friend for Sunday brunch. I like this place because it's like a neighborhood diner except it's a charming restaurant in the heart of Austell. They're not terribly crowded and expanded their breakfast hours. The website looks like they open at 12 noon but they start serving at 8:30 AM! I was way too into the meal and conversation so I forgot to snap a photo. I started with a biscuit with jelly, then the veggie omelette that comes with toast. I also got a side of turkey bacon. The bacon could have been cooked crispier but otherwise the meal was good. They're known for their coffees so I'll have to try it next time. The to-go traffic was non-stop so there's something patrons love. They have a great soul food selection as well as breakfast favorites. Unfortunately they don't serve alcohol so the mimosas are virgin. It's charming, service is great and you can pay with your server at the table (wirelessly). It's okay to smile, and allow for a welcoming environment. The food is honestly just okay. We came for an experience but there just isn't anything to brag or get excited about. I'm kind of angry because I wanted to boast about the restaurant and tell everyone to go. I still say go, perhaps you'll have a better experience. My final thought is about the Southern Salmon Croquettes! This is NOT, I repeat NOT a croquette. This is an overcooked, large and hard hushpuppy with uncooked filling made of salmon, onions and spices. This recipe needs an overhaul and revision. My sister/friend went with the turkey wings, yams and collard greens and I opted for the Salmon and grits. They offer a Soul Food Brunch Menu on Sundays. For our drinks, I got a Arnold Palmer and my sis went with a Mango smoothie and waters for sure. Our service was so weird, the food came out cold except for her sides. That was after a 45 min wait. No refills on my Arnold Palmer. Yall this place was not crowded at all. I watched nearby tables complain about the service. Maybe there were more people in the inside but there was still no excuse for the cold food after that kind of wait. I sent my back because I couldn't eat cold grits. The waitress apologized, she returned with the plate 6 minutes later bc I timed it and it was a slight bit better. We were approached twice before our food came out, with other persons food.
