I literally stumbled upon this place by typing in 'food near me'. I live off the East West Connector and was looking for some good food. Based on the reviews I figured the food would be pretty good. The restaurant is in a shopping plaza behind Discount Tires on the East Connector. If you are traveling East it will be on the left hand side before Walmart. I ordered the shrimp and grits and the dish was pretty tasty. The flavor was perfect for me and the grits were extremely creamy. I didn't think the sauce was too rich. In essence, the flavor was perfect. I went by at 4pm so I was the only person in the restaurant. There are 8 tables and your order food from the counter. The restaurant is small and quaint but clean. The owner was friendly and prepared my meal quickly so the wait was not long. I waited 15 minutes and about 9:18 one young lady came and unlocked the restaurant. My though was "ummm, ok, so you're already about 20 minutes late opening, it's gonna take at least 20 minutes to get things moving in the kitchen and finally, where's everybody else". I was immediately in love when I saw that. They have a diverse menu, and you have to be patient because they have a small staff and everything is cooked to-order. 3 stars equals A-OK! I have been dying to try this place since it opened and yesterday - I finally got the chance. Ambiance: Has a industrial loft type feel - appeared clean and well maintained. I can't say much more because this was a take-away order. Customer Service: AWESOME. When I googled them, the only website I found (their Google business site), didn't show 'menu' as a drop down option, so I called them to inquire about a menu. The young lady who answered the phone wasn't able to help, but the owner (I think) quickly offered to text the menu to me. Unfortunately, she sent me photos of the menus and one of my main questions (what type of fish is in the fish and grits entree and fish sandwich) remained unanswered. So I had to text her AGAIN to ask. She then sent me screen grabs of the that showed new headers stating "Crispy Flounder." I was so excited! But then my hopes were dashed because she followed up with a text stating that they'd changed from flounder to pollock, as pollock was meatier. Food: I enjoyed my chicken tenders, though they definitely could have used another minute or two in the fryer. Don't get me wrong - they were not raw or undercooked, but they were still at that super dense, slightly rubbery consistency you get when you pull a chicken breast a minute or two before you should. It was a large portion. See pics. My crinkle cut fries were another story however. They were sadly undercooked, so I gave up after biting into 3 of them that were like this. There was also no salt on most of them, but one lonely french fry was heavily coated in seasoned salt. The Mister requested the Fish and Grits. When I brought the food upstairs, I also had a bag from Lowe's. I quickly realized that I'd left the very generous container of grits in the car. I schlepped back downstairs to get said grits and by the time I came back upstairs, he had eaten all the fish and dropped several not so subtle hints about wanting some more meat. I put a few links of sausage on to boil and then - this 'manchild' starts complaining about 'the green stuff' on top of the grits. Smh. I bit my tongue and reminded myself that murder is a capital crime - then skimmed the top of the grits - they were quite delicious. I did snap a pic of the food when I picked it up and I do agree with the other reviewer that the seafood portion was very meager. But seafood is quite expensive, so I'm guessing if they gave you more, the entree price would probably increase to the point that most people would balk at. All in all, this is probably more of an 3 star / A-OK review, but the customer service was so stellar - they were just so sweet and helpful that I can't give them anything less than 4 stars. I think the pandemic and the fact that I placed my order about 45 minutes before closing probably impacted my food quality. I recommend you give them a try! Note 1: When I arrived, I found out the lovely owner was able to show me that the menu IS actually there - you just have to scroll down, down, down, down to get to it. Note 2: They have a sign on the door that says 'No public restrooms.' So I think the dining room must be closed. I actually wouldn't have noticed this and I keep wipes in the car for my hands, but I REALLY needed to use the restroom - but I had been so 'high maintenance' with the earlier texts, that I was scared to ask for clarification on the sign. Lol. So I don't know if that sign actually means 'restrooms for customers only' or if it really is closed to everyone. They share a parking lot with Discount Tire and Aspire Fitness so perhaps customers from neighboring businesses were coming in there to use restrooms all the time? read more

A great find, a tucked away. That's what I'll call Cafe Blue. I stumbled upon this nice little spot after getting my lashes done at ILashHer. I overheard my tech ordering lunch as I walked out, pleased of course. She said something about a flounder sandwich and my head immediately turned around. Hmmm...haven't had one of those in a while. "Make it two", I said in a loud whisper. A few minutes later, we walked across the parking lot and into a very nice, down home, "straight out of the fryer", type of establishment.
