For this Friday's out and about exploring of new restaurants, we tried Chili Chop. I'd found the location on FB Reels or TikTok and it looked good. I'd sent it to my better half and he said, "let's go." OK... it's a hole in the wall in a strip center. But you know that sometimes those places are absolutely wonderful. And this was one of those times. From the time we walked in, we were welcomed. The lady working the front went through the menu... explained the options and even told us about options that weren't listed. I decided on the Heat Combo... the hubby decided on the Regular Combo. You're going to find that everything is made to order. So nothing just sitting around. The sandwiches are what I'd call burritos in a bun. Wrapped in foil and then paper. We were warned to keep the foil on... And with good reason! These are not sit in the car and eat sandwiches. They're moist... they're juicy and DELICIOUS! Now, I got the one called the Heat. It was not overly spicy but had a good level of heat. I was told if you like it spicy, just ask for hot sauce. I'm kinda torn by that because the general flavor of the sandwich is really good and wouldn't want to cover that up. The Combo comes with thick potato wedges. They were good and neither of us were able to finish all of them. They have some side dipping sauces I want to try next time. We opted to dine in. The dining room is a bit small and standard. There are only about 4 or 5 tables. But, it's clean (spotless clean) and does the trick. I imagine if it's busy it can get quite full. Honestly... this style of food is pretty unique to the Metro. It's not quite a Philly Restaurant... it's not quite a traditional Chili Shop... It's more of what you'd see with a "loose meat" restaurant from the Midwest. But whatever you think it is, it works. I was supposed to be headed to Monterey's a few doors down until I noticed the "Grand Opening" sign and ventured over for a closer view. A 98 "Health Score" in this day and age or ANY day and age is a pretty good start and the customer service was beyond stellar!! Chef Angie was helpful and attentive. Granted, I was the only customer there at the time, but that's NOT something to be taken for granted...I've been the only person in line somewhere before and STILL got terrible service!! The price may have been a bit on the high end for the fare offerings, but it was fresh and made to order and it tasted out-expletive-standing (The toasted bun and the Chipotle Ranch Sauce on the Chop Veggie was "Umm Umm GOOD!!)...I will definitely be returning!! =) read more

My friend shared an IG post and I added this to my list of local places to try. I've never had a chopped cheese but love chili! The selection is delicious so I plan to work my way down the menu. For my first visit, I ate The Chop Box with The Heat. The sandwich is a great size, tasty and just enough heat. I love pickled jalapeños and would love the balance of sweet peppers. The potato wedges are not my favorite but they were fresh, tasted baked and not fried. Seasoning was done right and I dunked them in ketchup. The combo includes a drink - soda or water. Sweet tea was not part of the combo but an extra charge and I asked for lemonade to make an Arnold Palmer. No go on that. The location is charming. It's inside the Kenwood Plaza and the temporary sign is easy to miss driving by. The logo is larger than the name of the restaurant but they do have a tent sign out front. There are a few tables but I'm sure takeout is the bulk of orders. Overall, I really enjoyed the food and hospitality from the family-run team. I've been hearing great things about Chop Chili, now I understand why! The chop quesadilla and wedges with the avocado-lime sauce was delicious. Another customer had The Original and it looked delicious, I will be trying it next time. The inside is nice and clean. The owner Angela was very helpful/welcoming with menu. The food was excellent, and I appreciated that the menu was centered around turkey, accommodating my preference to avoid beef.

After only two visits, I could wait no longer to give Chop Chili my 5-star review. When you walk in, you're quickly greeted by smiling faces and a clean dining area. On my first visit, I ordered the Original Chop Chili sandwich. It was so delicious that I ordered it again, but I had them add coleslaw. The coleslaw made it even more delicious. I promise myself that I'm going to try something different next time, but I will have to really convince myself since the "Original" is so amazing! read more

First of all the place is really really clean and you can smell the food while it's being prepared. Secondly I ordered The Original with a Tea and it was just the right size for the price l paid. Third, l loved the taste of chopped chili meat (the ingredients were fresh) and l didn't need to add any spices. I like to be able to taste all the flavors of my food and this did not disappoint. I wish l had added the "heat" to it because l feel it would gave it an extra boost to rave about, but next time l will. My recommendation is to try it for sure, being from the west coast this was a nice surprise because chopped chili is an east coast vibe that would definitely work in Cali. I stopped by Chop Chili today for the first time and I am so glad I did. Since it was my first time, the menu was explained and popular items pointed out. I really appreciated that because I had no idea where to start. I opted to order the Chop Box with the original sandwich. So GOOD! The flavors of the chili and cheese with the soft bun is so so delicious. And I like the potato wedges. Fresh and the portions are generous. I will return. read more

My wife and I stumbled upon this restaurant on our way to the Mexican restaurant in the same plaza it's new so we tried it the customer service was amazing even though it was 30 minutes til closing she took time helped us with the menu and answered our question the atmosphere was stunning we ordered chop chili box which included a sandwich fries and soda ( the fries was baked not fried the chili is made with ground turkey) and cooked to order although it was a little costly it was worth it.the decor was just ok parking is a bit scarce sometimes because it's in a plaza with other stores I highly recommend this place but have patience they working on your other read more

This place is NOT inexpensive. It was about $15 for "the heat" sandwich and a bottle of water. However, you get what you pay for. One of the best sandwiches I've ever had! Everything was incredibly fresh and delicious and seasoned perfectly. So tired of places that just throw a bunch of butter and salt into something to make it taste better. They do not do that here, everything is balanced well and absolutely delicious. The girl who took my order was very friendly and helpful, the place is very inviting and one of the cleanest restaurants I've ever seen. My sister and I went here for the first time after someone posted it on TikTok! We got the chop box which consisted of ground turkey hoagie with fries- needless to say it was delicious and very satisfying! The owner's take on this Philly "cheesesteak" is phenomenal.
