The food was still fresh when it was delivered, and the restaurant staff was still friendly, though they were all new people. But the restaurant in mind you could've just been the timing, but the restaurant was not clean and unfortunately every time we go back the score continues to go down now. Came in here today, July 10, 2018 for dinner with my wife. I was really looking forward to coming here and having my favorite grilled tilapia meal, but apparently they have changed their menu since I last went to Captain D's. I had the blackened tilapia over rice with cole slaw, fried okra, and a roll. Okra was good, coleslaw was good, roll was good, but the tilapia was beyond blackened. It was burned and had no flavor except burned flavor. They also don't put the brown sweet glaze/sauce on the fish anymore and that's unfortunate because it was really good that way. My wife had the chicken finger plate with green beans, hush puppies, and mac n cheese. She said green beans were bland, chicken was dry. Hush puppies were good, I also tried her food, and agree. Place was clean, employees seemed polite but kind of apathetic, no one seemed happy to be there. Rockmart is a small town, and word gets out quick about food and service and cleanliness. Hope they can get themselves squared away or they'll be going the same way Sonic and many other restaurants around here went, which was out of business. Won't recommend but wish them good luck. (Also to the owner/general manager: never a good idea to defer bad reviews and/or customer issues to a canned corporate number or email, especially in a small town like Rockmart; as a reviewer of many places I have noticed the owners and managers who actually respond to complaints or problems usually get return customers) read more

Probably the most expensive of the fast food chains, which makes it bad when the leave off an item. The greens beans were so salty I had to toss them. I called the restaurant but the phone number is no longer in service. Doubt I'll return to this location. read more

I'll be avoiding this place like the plague. Waited in the drive through for almost 20 minute. As I was about to pull off, the line moved. The food was not burnt but it tasted like it was. I suspect the fryer oil was to blame. Terrible experience! read more

My husband and I ate here for the first time today. I haven't been to a Captain D's in years, so have no other one to compare it to. Only had Long John Silver's near me for years. We both ordered fried seafood. He had the butterfly shrimp dinner which comes with two sides, and I got the appetizer clam strips/shrimp box and a side of okra. When ordering, I didn't pay attention to the regular vs premium sides, but as I waited for my order (more about that in a minute) I saw that there was an upcharge for the macaroni and cheese my husband got and the okra I got. Not sure what is premium about boiled pasta with cheap, fluorescent orange cheese sauce (thinking stadium nachos). I wouldn't order it again. The okra was good, although it was dipped in the smooth textured fish batter, not the more traditional coarser texture I'm used to. The coleslaw was passable, nothing special. The fried seafood didn't have any seafood flavor at all - it all just tasted like breading. The only difference in the clam strip and the shrimp was the texture of the coating and the texture of the seafood, but they tasted just the same. In fact, to me it had almost a smoky flavor, like grilled or smoked food - makes me wonder if the frying oil had been used w/ something that was burnt in the past. The ladies at the counter were all very nice. They've done a great job choosing and training their staff. Daysha, the cashier, was awesome! But there were four of them behind the counter and not much for all of them to do. From the time that I ordered until I got my to-go order was 15-20 minutes, so this sure isn't fast food. In fact, the time from when my order was placed until I got my food wasn't any slower than most sit-down places. Not sure if we'll be back. read more

We buy our dinners from Captain D's quite frequently thanks to the great coupons. Keep them coming please. The food is hot and fresh and not soggy as you would expect in those styrofoam boxes. The food is always delicious and the service at the window as well as the preparing of the food is always top notch. We literally stuff ourselves on the delicious food especially since we are at home eating and no one can see us! I could just hush puppies and fried okra and nothing else. But since we are stuffing ourselves we do want a well rounded and nutritious meal. The shrimp and fish are delicious and never greasy. Kudos to all of you'll working there. read more

Ate here last night, for the first time, and was a very good experience. Our server Maylee, was super courteous and made us feel welcome. Fish and shrimp were good but the sides were excellent. Dining area was very clean. It was a little noisy, but that is normal for fast food places. We eat at Captain D's about once a week. We will make this store one of the units we visit frequently. read more
