They have a large group of regular customers they treat fine but if they don't know you they can come across as very rude. Service is very slow and they will ignore customers for long stretches of time. Don't eat here if you're in a hurry. So food alone would be 3 stars. Good service could have bumped that up to 4 but poor service puts it down to 2.

Other patrons mentioned the same feeling as we were basically sitting at the waiting area. I don't pretend to know why this change was made. Perhaps it was a business necessity or a temporary situation. What I do know is that it isn't working for atmospheres. I truly enjoyed the feel of it. I have places I brunch where that togetherness dining works so it isn't a crowd issue for me. The Junction in Charleston is a great example of close dining that works. My breakfast was good but husband's scrambled eggs were too scrambled and dry. It only appeared as one egg also. Their grits had a great creaminess and my sourdough was awesome. Unfortunately, when I went to order, I was told they were out of rice and not serving it. Very disappointing. I decided to try the 10-piece lemon pepper wings instead and specifically asked for all flats. The order taker said it could be done. However, when my food came out, the wings were mixed. My husband spoke with who I assume was the owner, and she explained that they don't typically sell all flats because it leaves them with too many drums--which is understandable. However, that should have been communicated upfront, as I likely would have ordered something else or chosen to go elsewhere. The dining area also took away from the experience. The tables were filthy, and we had to ask for ours to be cleaned before we could even sit down. To make matters worse, most of the fountain drinks were out. I settled for fruit punch, which unfortunately wasn't good. My husband and son received their meals, and overall, the food was just average at best. Between the unavailable menu items, miscommunication, cleanliness issues, and overall quality, this experience fell short of expectations. We will not be returning.
