Don't let the looks fool you. Really nice folks, good food. We occasionally drive from Douglasville just to eat here, an hour drive, if that tells you anything. Not a rally large seating area, it seems most people call ahead and do drive through, at least the times we've been there. Be sure to check ahead if you're coming far for ribs. Last time we went they were out and the next batch weren't done yet. :( read more

We had family from out of state over and ordered the picnic dinner. The barbecue was top notch, as well, the Smokey Sweet sauce. It came with great Cole slaw and awesome baked beans. We called ahead and they let us know when it was ready for pick up. Made a fast drive through pick up and headed home in record time. Food is great, customer service is horrible. They are always irritated and will ignore customers when they come in. I sat at the drive thru waiting for my order, which was sitting on the windowsill, for 10 whole minutes. I even honked. Girls walked past and looked over but wouldn't open the window. When I was ordering over the phone, the lady taking my order hung up on me mid order. It's just so disrespectful.. if they were at least super packed out I would understand, but every time I go there's really not anyone there. read more

We were looking for a quick early morning breakfast before we went skydiving. Found this little hidden gem and loved it! Mostly drive thru but there were four or five tables inside. We were there at 7am and the food was delicious. Their home fries are top notch. They were firing up the smoker as we were leaving and we were sad we weren't there to try the BBQ but we'll definitely try lunch next time! So what used to be an acceptable BBQ restaurant is now an unfriendly environment for customers trying to get some lunch. Was there today and the lady behind the counter was carrying on a conversation with one of her friends and never even acknowledged the fact that I was the there. The whole time she was verbally bashing some other customer that had been there and complaining about her coworkers. The lady wearing the tie dye shirt was sitting at the table by the front counter and made no move to try and take my order either. The two ladies in the back were not in a hurry to help anyone either. The girl with the GNTC T-shirt on was preoccupied with her cell phone. The other lady was just leaning against the counter and seemed bored. The four ladies that worked there and the guy that was talking to one of the ladies were the only people in there besides me. This is a prime example of why small local businesses lose customers. While I only frequented the restaurant 1-2 times a week for the last 3 years, there service has slowly but surely gone downhill. Yes, that does mean that I have been a regular here and have been to the restaurant over 150 times. Just wanted to make sure that everyone understood that this was not my first time here and that I will be more than happy to spend my hard earned money somewhere else. I'm sure that the owner does not care about losing $15-$20 a week from one customer, but I can guarantee that another restaurant will be more than happy to take my money. read more

Fantastic food. Great service. The chicken tenders are amazing. Love the Darbi Que. That Brunswick Stews is tops. My only complaint is too much ice in the drinks. Although the ice is a nice shape perfect for chewing on as you drive down the road. They have a great set up for their drive through. I will have to admit I have never been inside due to COVID but from the outside their place seems small. Still I enjoy siting in my car with my nibbles and relaxing for a few. If you get the chicken tender meal order some extra sides and share it with someone you love. It's that huge. Well worth the money. read more

The Bradly Burger is a sleeper contender for the best in the State. Don't believe me? Grab a knife and fork and give it a try. The base is 2 thick patties, bacon, cheddar cheese, and a fried egg on a toasted bun. I would've posted a picture, but I didn't think about it until I'd eaten it all. This has eliminated any need I might have felt to drive toward Atlanta for a top notch burger (unless it's H&F Burger). Everytime we drive through Cedartown we have to come here. Everytime we have family or friends visit we bring them here. They have THE BEST slaw-b-que sandwich. It's a barbecue sandwich (either pulled pork or chicken ) with coleslaw on it. Even people that normally don't like coleslaw love thus sandwich. I haven't tried their breakfast yet but I've heard it's also very good. Staff is always friendly and efficient. read more

This is the most disgusting hole in the wall I've ever been to in Cedartown! Their food is GROSS and their customer service is terrible! I will never eat there again!! Their dining area is dumpy & dirty, I don't think the floor has ever seen a mop and it smells like mildew (typical in this area, but a dehumidifier would help!) Their soda tastes like mildew which is caused by the soda fountain hoses not being cleaned properly & often because of the humidity problems...The young girls there were on their cell phones and was rude to my husband and I and there was not a manager on site & the girl in charge was on her cell phone too! We host friends from up north on an annual bike ride the length of the Silver Comet Trail over two days. Let me break that down - it's almost 100 miles (a Century in bike rider speak) each way. They do it both ways. In two days. Oh, and there's drinking involved. Not water. But that's a different review and probably not family friendly. We are the support crew carrying all the tools, supplies (booze), emergency equipment and pick up fallen soldiers along the way. We also help plan the food and stops. Liveley's is a planned stop each year and we've been there five years in a row. It's what you'd expect in a smaller town like Cedartown. It's the local BBQ joint. On a dirt parking lot next to a house that's seen a few better days. Out front is the smoker. Next to the street along with a big pile of hardwoods so looks to me like everything is stick burner smoked. Inside there are a handful of tables so perhaps 12-15 people could sit and eat at one time, and thankfully it's air conditioned. But if you're in a hurry - they've got a drive thru that's complete with an old school gas station bell that rings inside. It's our Cedartown stop because we go through mid-day both directions, the food is always solid and extremely reasonably priced. Lunch items include some of the usual suspects of any BBQ joint - a range of sandwiches: pork, beef, slaw BQ, Darbi Q. There are some other non BBQ items if you're just not feelin' it today (although why you would go to a BBQ joint for a grilled cheese I just don't really get, but I digress). The usual plates are on offer (which is my choice) and are pulled pork, pulled beef, darbi Q, chop steak, smoked chicken etc. All come with 2 sides and a slice of the eponymous white bread. My most recent pate was pulled pork, mac and cheese and they had me at tots. Ususally I'm a traditionalist and get greens since, as a Yankee it's something I'm not genetically disposed to cook with any skill at all so I always like to try. Bot not this time. Tots? What's not to love, it's a guilty pleasure and they were cooked perfectly - crispy, light, fluffy. The mac and cheese was prepared from scratch near as I could tell - no food service stuff here. Interestingly they used ziti as the pasta instead of the usual elbows. It was rich, creamy and with a little cheddar bite which I prefer. Now, the star of the plate is the pulled pork. A nice mix of bark with my pulled pork gave a great contrast in texture and the smoke was definite but not overwhelming or cloying. You could taste the pork through the smoke and the little bit of carmelization in the bark was a nice contrast as well. I also chase good sauces, but this pork definitely didn't need it. I used a little to enhance, but unlike other BBQ restaurants I've been to where the sauce is there to rescue otherwise paper dry pulled pork... here you could use it for it's real purpose, an adjunct ingredient. A proverbial back up singer. Now, if you've read some of my other reviews, I dabble in my own smoking and am an admitted amateur. I do get how hard this perceived to be simple cooking method is. And for those who do it right day in and day out I have much respect for. It's no business you'll get rich on, it's hard work and everyone has an opinion. The folks at Lively's are solid. And given we've gone there each ride for five years and they've remained solid and I would suggest actually have gotten better over time...? You need to stop in. Would I make a special trip from Atlanta just for it? Mmmm, maybe? Maybe if you wanted to get out and do a little drive and see some rural Georgia and needed a lunch destination. As a trip on it's own? You decide that one. But if you're around Cedartown, drop in and see the hardworking folks at Lively's. I'm sure they'd love to see you. read more

I've eaten at Lively since it opened. I love their Barque sandwich and fries. They have Good hotdogs and my grandsons love the hickory fries. There bq salad is great too. The tea is delicious also. When we would get to go in to eat their b'fast ( months ago) is great. Get the platter well worth the money. The staff are a great bunch. Very friendly and considerate. There is two thing I can stay in a negative light. The place is way to SMALL AND they can be slow but that's because they cook your food as you wait. ( so actually that's not a bad thing we are just spoiled and want our fast pick up to be given to us in 5 minutes flat ( ordering, paying and driving off ) within that time line :(....Great place go enjoy.., you want regret it! read more

If you read my other reviews, you know I don't hold back on my BBQ write-ups. On non-BBQ reviews, three stars is not exactly a compliment, but here, those three stars are well-earned. This place looks like a BBQ joint, meaning if they served anything other than BBQ, you'd keep on driving. Somehow, we like our smokehouses to look like absolute dives. I ordered the pulled pork, and it was good. I heard someone come in after us and order his with sauce on the side, and he knew what he was doing: the sauce was good, but they dropped a whole mess of it on the pork and I had a hard time tasting the meat for the sauce. When I did, though, the meat was nice and smoky and the blackened pieces were the highlight (as usual.) The slaw was just right and the beans had a fair amount of pork in them. And the portion of meat on the pork plate was more than I could handle. The folks were friendly and the prices were fair, so I'd say if you're in Cedartown (And just what in the world are you doing in Cedartown?) this is a fine place for a bite to eat. read more

The bbq sandwich was pretty meaty and the sauce on it was great compliment an not to overpowering, i could taste the hickory in the meat which i loved. Decided to try this place out on our way back from camping after seeing it on Yelp multiple times. We called ahead not knowing that they had a drive thru, which I appreciate, especially during COVID times. But food was great. I ordered the hickory fries and the bbq pork was great! Tender and flavorful with light sauce. Meaning the meat was good enough to not try and hide with sauce. I consider myself a ranch snob, especially at a bbq place, and theirs was great! My husband got the yellow jacket dog. It was good but would have been better with slaw, but that was our mistake not theirs. My daughter had the grilled cheese kid meal which she loved and she stole the rest of my ranch which she said was great, lol! Overall great prices and quality. read more

You order at the counter and they bring your food to you. Here is what we ordered: 1st order: Darby Q: beans and stew with a side of onion rings.
