Ordered take out from Smithfield's for the first time last week. I pre-ordered via the website and the food was ready right on time and handed to me by a very nice gentleman at the counter. There were 2 bags one of which was a nice reusable tote, both of which were completely sealed with stickers. The fried chicken was some of the best I've had.. Also loved the BBQ. Got hush puppies, cole slaw and potato salad as sides. All were very good. I can't wait to order again. It was only $60 and fed 5 of us with a ton of leftovers. Great deal! read more

If I could give this restaurant a zero, I would. Not because of the quality of the food but the absolute shrinkage. The bbq sandwich is half of what we got 2 years ago!! Highway robbery. In the food lion today pork butt is .99$ a lb and that is retail at a grocery store, not a pork conglomerate!!! I will not be eating at this restaurant again!! As we looked at the menu, we were undecisive on what to order, so had asked Jackeline for some menu explanations. She answered each and every question with a smile. I stopped at this fast casual barbecue restaurant in Wilmington on the evening of Wednesday, November 1st, 2023. I ordered a lot of food. I got pulled pork, fried shrimp, hushpuppies, Brunswick stew, coleslaw, and banana pudding. I found the pulled pork to be quite good. It tasted good with the two sauces provided. There is a red vinegar dressing on the table that can be added on the pork. Also, one can ask for a packet of a thicker red barbecue sauce at the front counter. The fried shrimp were tiny like shrimp poppers, but they were tasty. I found the hushpuppies to be excellent, and they were given in very generous amounts. The coleslaw was also quite good. I also preferred that it was prepared with vinegar instead of mayonnaise. The Brunswick stew was my favorite. It was pulled pork, potatoes, lima beans, and green beans prepared with a thick red sauce. For my dessert, I got banana pudding, and it was delicious. It had banana pieces and vanilla wafers in it. The service and ambiance were excellent as well. It reminds me a lot of Chick-Fil-A dining experience. This place is a chain found in the Wilmington area, and I'd highly recommend people to try it if they're nearby. read more

Stopped in while working to get a tea and opted to order a half dozen hush puppies. Best hush puppies anywhere, so I was a little confused as to why my order sat while the lady that took my order went over twice and walked away. So, when after 5 minutes I asked, she said the manager was bagging them up for me. I watched her do that and walked to her and told her what I'd witnessed to which she sharply turned and proceeded to state the puppies were hot but she needed fresh cooked. We eat at this Smithfield's about every Sunday. The food is delicious and waitress are very cordial and helpful. Today we were told this location had a new manager who had been transferred from the Ogden restaurant after having been there only 4 months! This person's name is Mrs Mertens. It was very evident in observing her that other employees were having to train/tell her what to do in attending to the customers. Besides this her appearance left slot to be desired. To be blunt, she looked liked she just rolled out of bed. We knew she was the new manager when we asked who she was. It's hard for us to understand this decision being there were several capable people already in this location who were far more qualified for a manager position than Mrs Mertens with only 4 months experience under her belt! I'm not giving this place 4 stars because of their food, their food is solid but nothing amazing. That being said, the management and staff are amazing!!!! During the hurricane they really came through for people needing to get food, and they continue to keep up that standard.
