Rice and Beans Green Beans

Love this spot for lunch and recently did a catering order. Slight bit of confusion during pickup, but no big deal and the end result was beyond amazing. Awesome chicken and authentic flavors for a special occasion. Everything included for a large party and even had leftovers! Highly recommended.

Pollo Saltado. One of the best things to order.

Great chain Peruvian restaurant. Service and cleanliness are just ok. The chicken and the saltado (chicken or beef) are the best dishes in my opinion. Also, I like getting yucca fries which I tell myself are healthier than regular potato ones. Good place to grab a relatively quick meal a few times per month.

We always return here when we are in town. Try Pollo Salon ado or Lomo Saltado, I never eat the fries but the rice, meat and marinade on this dish is very good.

Excellent customer service!
Nature B.

This is my "new" favorite chicken place in town. The food was absolutely amazing. I tried a lot of things on my first visit, and I wasn't disappointed. The chicken was tender, juicy and Flavorful! The black beans were seasoned to perfection and had a very authentic taste. I had the plantains which was cooked just right and were not overcooked like many restaurants do. I was really surprised at the attention to details. Also, I had a salad with their signature, cilantro-lime dressing, it was fantastic! I wish I would have tried it on the chicken or as a dipping sauce. As for the customer service, I'll give it a A+. I actually took a picture of the young lady (with permission of course) that made my visit exceptional! The restaurant was clean and neat and the atmosphere was inviting and pleasant. ** One thing I would like to mention, which does not take away from the restaurant. I wasn't sure if I needed to clear my table when I left or find a place to put my dishes. It wasn't clear to me where to discard trash and used dishes/utensils if I had to. I found a busboy cart and left them there. I hope I did the right thing.

Our Chicken had moist blood on it.

Taco ruse indeed. Right now they are serving a regular CookOut menu and coffee. The cashier said…read morethey are serving the cookout menu because they cannot get any food shipments for a new menu. It doesn't really make sense to me but who knows. Eventually they plan to serve burritos and tacos. Due to the Coronavirus pandemic, it is to-go only right now. Credit cards are accepted. So one different food item they serve that is not actually written on their original Cookout menu is the Walking Taco (total with tax $3.04). It's essentially a small 1oz bag of nacho cheese Doritos topped with taco ingredients. It's topped with taco-seasoned ground beef, shredded lettuce, sour cream, and optional chopped jalapenos. It was tasty, but it gets soggy quick. I think it is worth one try or just make it yourself at home, but where is the fun in that? By the way, a utensil was not provided so don't forget to ask for a fork, unless you're a savage and like to get your hands dirty. Cookout is one of the better fast food restaurant (burger and fries) but I prefer Shake Shack burgers (on the east coast). I got a junior burger (about 4-in diameter bun) with all of the usual toppings (mayo, mustard, ketchup, pickles, onions, lettuce) and added sliced cheddar cheese, grilled onions, and Cajun seasoning. Definitely recommend Cajun seasoning as this adds a lot more flavor. Also recommend getting grilled onions if you're a onion lover, but their grilled onions are no match for In-N-Out (on the west coast). Fries were thin, crispy, and salted well. Didn't come with ketchup packets automatically so had to ask for them. Also got a quesadilla (almost 8-in diameter) with beef. There's also an option for chicken. It is more like a snack so if you want to make it a meal, probably should get at least 2-3+ plus a side. I liked the quesadilla. The quesadilla was pressed with a panini press so it was crispy. It had flavorful ground patty beef mixed with melted cheese. I would be interested in seeing how their burritos and tacos taste like, if they ever add them.

I have to say that with all the build up to this place opening, I was really just anticipating…read moresomething a lot more exciting. It's tacos and a lot of stuff from the main menu like what you would find at any other burger place. There is also coffee. It's clean. The staff are following Covid protocols. And the wait is not nearly as long as if you go down the block, so there's that. And they have a couple other things that the other menu doesn't have.

What's the one dish from your childhood you wish you could taste again?…read moreYou know the one, the dish that, with one bite, could transport you back in time. Apparently, for me, it's butterbeans. Who knew? Rx Chicken & Oysters feels like your neighborhood restaurant--and tastes like my grandparents' kitchen. First, let's talk fresh. Follow their Facebook page and you can literally see them catching your dinner, farming your oysters, or digging for your clams. Yes. It's that fresh. We started with peel-and-eat shrimp, oysters, and cornbread served piping hot in the skillet it was baked in. Honestly, we could have stopped right there and left perfectly happy. But we're not quitters. And it was half-price wine night, so clearly we had responsibilities. We did almost lose a glass in an unfortunate table incident. But is a good dinner complete without a little spilled wine? I think not. Then came the fried chicken, perfectly crispy on the outside, tender and juicy on the inside. Finger-licking good, and yes, I realize another chicken place already claimed that phrase, but sometimes the truth is the truth. The ribs with blueberry barbecue sauce deserve some sort of culinarily award. But here's the plot twist... The star of my plate was the bacon-braised butterbeans. BUTTERBEANS! I'm sitting there surrounded by fried chicken, ribs, oysters and shrimp, and apparently I've decided beans are the hill I'm willing to die on. I'd go back for those alone. One bite and suddenly I was sitting in my grandmother's kitchen again. And maybe that's what I loved most about Rx. It's fresh, local and creative without forgetting what Southern food is supposed to do and that's make you happy, make you nostalgic, and make you eat entirely too much.

Ridiculously over priced on this 2nd "version" of Rx. Terrible bartender with no personality, no…read moretalent, and miserly pours. Save your money and eat at one of the dozens of oyster houses and chicken frys.

Smoky Chicken That Needs No Sauce!…read more We popped into Papi's Peruvian Chicken on a Sunday, hoping to beat the church crowd, but it turns out, the real blessing was waiting inside. As soon as we pulled into the parking lot, my buddy leaned over and said, "Man, someone's smoking something and it smells delicious." When we stepped inside, his grin got even bigger as he turned to me and said, "It's this place, great choice!" We both went for the smoked dark quarter with street corn salad. My buddy chose green beans, and I went with the Inca pork beans. I asked the woman at the counter to recommend a sauce, and she took the time to explain each one, patiently answering all my basic questions. It turns out, the chicken didn't need any sauce at all. It was smoky, moist, and packed with flavor--crispy on the outside with a deep, wood-fired taste that lingered with every bite. The Inca pork beans were hearty and full of flavor, a solid sidekick to the main event. The street corn salad, while fresh, could have used a bit more kick--maybe a sprinkle of cheese or a dash of lime to brighten it up. The interior's industrial strip mall vibe is functional but could benefit from a few authentic touches--like Peruvian art or music--to match the rich flavors coming out of the kitchen. If you're craving smoky, fall-off-the-bone chicken, Papi's Peruvian Chicken is worth the trip. I'll definitely be back to try more!

We've gone to Papi's a few times now: once to eat in and several to bring home. Invariably,…read moresomething goes wrong but we like the taste. Today, I finally decided to write a review. We ordered two quarter dark meat meals. The server said they only had one left, but I saw entire chickens still coming out. I asked why couldn't I have a piece of one of those and the server said I would have to buy the whole chicken! What nonsense is that?!?!
