    Big cahoona tuna special AMAZING

Flavor. Holy flavor. THIS is the place I bring friends and family when they first come to Wilmington. Get there early to get a seat. Prices are unbelievable good for how fresh the food is. No where can compete with how savory and colorful these plates are! Great chill vibes. Can't say enough good things about Savorez. Seriously. JUST GO. Good speaks for itself!

WOW!!!!! Savorez is SENSATIONAL! The Latin American flavors with seasonal ingredients is a match made in heaven. I enjoyed every morsel of their carne con ancho over a crispy arepa, sautéed arugula, oven dried tomatoes, caramelized onions, cheesy Gruyère, paired with horseradish crema and anchovies balsamic BBQ sauces. I also enjoyed their comforting homemade sancocho soup with coconut rice. I'm from Miami, and this soup rivals all the versions I've tried back home. Come to Savorez for chef forward, authentic and bold flavors! You will surely be back soon again

I am so happy that we picked this spot because it was amazing. I started off with a beer then had The O.G. Margarita. For our entrees we both ordered off of the specials menu. It was the Raise the Bar-Racuda Tacos with maduros for my husband and the Shut the ScallUp for me. The service, drinks and food were fantastic. Savorez is a must visit in Wilmington.

It's baked chicken at best, but they call it jerk chicken no flavor.

Let me save you some time it is not authentic to anywhere! The flavor of this "jerk chicken" was not even in the meat of the chicken and the blackening on the outside zero flavor just blackened... absolutely will never go here again. I hate to say this about any place, but their reviews are not authentic. They have to be family friends or maybe people who've never tried flavor in their life. It was not marinated the red sauce tasted very elementary like chef boyardee. I paid and just took my shît to go.

Good food. Okay flavor. Great for vegan and vegetarian options. I enjoy the food - especially for meat free options. However, the flavoring/seasoning can be hit or miss.

Had a late lunch reservation and was seated right away. Small dining area. Our waiter was pleasant and took our drink order. The OG Margarita was made fresh, no premix, outstanding! Fried flounder tacos were crispy and moist and very tasty, however the slaw on the tacos was far too watery and had the use a napkin to mop up so it would get too soggy. Yuca fries were crispy with a salt and pepper seasoning and aïoli, and were outstanding! Black bean soup was generous with great flavors of lime, cumin and chili powder. Rich and filling! Chorizo empanadas did not disappoint with a spicy pico de gallo. Closed out with the chocolate flan which was creamy and rich! Bathrooms were a bit 'ripe' and could use a makeover and cleaning.

Jerk wahoo with sweet potato and pork belly hash.

Culinary art. The food was amazing. So light and all the fabulous fresh flavors. Just no words. Specialty cocktails also on point! Go here. Try this amazing food.

Ate lunch here on Monday around 11:45 AM and there were still plenty of tables in the small restaurant open. Parked in their small parking lot. Started off with empanadas, which comes as two pieces and we had an option of choosing two different flavors. Went with chorizo and goat cheese and smoked tuna with Gruyère cheese, red pepper. I am not a huge fan of goat cheese, but the chorizo and goat cheese empanada goat cheese flavor was not strong at all. Both of the empanadas were fried well so very crispy. One came with a smoky chipotle based thick sauce and the other one came with a small portion of refried black beans. Tacos were flavorful, I ordered churrascco and my partner had the lunch special kicki' chicken tacos. What disappointed me was how cold the corn tortillas were, which made them brittle. Good thing they served each taco with 2 pieces of corn tortillas. I wish the steak had crispy bits but they were still good. We chose maduros and yucca frites as our sides for the tacos, which were excellent. The yucca frites may have been the best yucca fries I have ever had. Perfectly crispy on the outside and soft, starchy-like on the inside. We asked for their housemade hot sauce, which wasn't bad, but not actually spicy. It was silly they charged us a little extra for the hot sauce. Service was quick. I would come back here again.

Stopped in for brunch at this restaurant on a Sunday morning and the food was amazing! The restaurant describes itself as "Local Fare, Latin Flair." The brunch menu has about 8 entrees on it and there were a few specials on a separate menu. I ordered the grouper tacos (one of the specials) and it tasted amazing! The grouper was perfectly fried and the mango chutney on top of the tacos was a nice touch. The tacos had a generous amount of food in them and 2 tacos was more than enough food to leave full and satisfied.

Every bite was a flavor explosion! Crazy fusions of flavor that I wouldn't expect together, but they just worked perfectly.

If someone said this was the best restaurant in town, I'd believe them. This was also the best meal we've had in a while. My family ordered one of each special and I got the vegan rellenos. The flavor profile of each dish was delicious and some of us went on a trip with the dish. My sister (not a critic, just a foodie) said it deserves a Michelin star. The caliber of this restaurant's menu alone is impressive, with some fun dish names like Scallapagos and Super Mah-Hio. The service was great. Getting there at 4:30pm was perfect as we saw a line of people out the door upon leaving at 6pm. The ambience was nice, with some light holiday tunes. The artwork and bright red walls brought in the Latin American flair.

Yummy spot! Everything was so flavorful and the margs were awesome. Food was so great that I forgot to take photos, whoops! Service was awesome, very attentive! The place was small but decorated just right!

At this point it was about 9:15am and I saw Brunch Thyme was open. Not doing a lot of research I walked over and assumed it was a sit down restaurant but quickly learned that it's actually take out. I think the worker saw the disappointment on my face when I walked in and she offered me a small foldable table to place outside which encouraged me to stay. My partner ordered the fish n' grits and I ordered The Frenchie which both turned out to be great choices. The fish was seasoned well, I believe it was whiting and the grits were rich and creamy. It came with a delicious gravy that we didn't notice until the meal was almost finished but ended up spooning like a soup. My French toast and eggs were tasty as well. For drinks they had canned Coke products, apple juice and bottled water. Sitting outside was hot and the bugs were constant but I was thankful to have a place to eat because again, I walked here (about 20 min). I observed many people eating in their cars or simply taking their food to go. With this, I also saw a few groups come and go as they didn't realize it was a take out style restaurant. Minus the heat, we enjoyed our meal and the customer service we received. Prices were responsible and portion sizes were filling. Check it out if you're in the area.

We were finally able to stop into RUMCOW on Grace Street in Wilmington this weekend!…read more We had a reservation. We were seated within a couple of minutes. Our server Ava knew the menu and read the table well. No overselling, no scripted recitations. She just took care of us. Thanks Ava. The Blackened Chicken Breast came with basmati rice, seasonal vegetables, black bean salsa, and a chipotle cream sauce that worked harder than it had any right to. The flavors didn't compete. They really settled into each other. The Rumcow Salad, loaded with mixed greens, carrot, tomato, onion, cucumber, and wonton strips, we ordered topped with shrimp. It was sharper and more interesting than we had expected. It's a newer spot in Wilmington, and it shows. In The Best Sense. We'll be back for sure!

The service was friendly and attentive, and we started the evening with a bottle of Cambria Katherine's Vineyard Chardonnay (2023), which was a nice way to begin dinner. Unfortunately, the food this time around just didn't live up to what we remember. We started with the Asian Tots, which used to be one of the best items on the menu. In the past, the peanut sauce was poured over the top so everything came together as one dish. Now it's served in a small cup on the side, and there isn't enough of it to properly coat the tots. They also stopped finishing the dish with the salt they used to sprinkle on top, and even the presentation has changed -- the silver dome they once used is gone. What used to be a great appetizer has been reduced to something that's simply okay. For the main courses, the results were mixed but mostly disappointing. My blackened chicken was a little overcooked. My wife ordered the miso salmon, and that was overcooked as well -- which is especially noticeable with fish. When salmon goes past the sweet spot it quickly becomes dry, and that seemed to be the case here. None of the food was terrible, but none of it really stood out either. Dessert didn't help much. I ordered the carrot cake, but what arrived looked more like a small cupcake buried under a heavy amount of icing, with a large mound of whipped cream on the side. There wasn't much actual cake there, and it wasn't what I expected from a carrot cake dessert. One thing that stood out during the meal is that it feels like the kitchen may be constantly adjusting dishes -- moving sauces, changing presentations, tweaking things that didn't necessarily need fixing. In restaurants, sometimes the best move is to pick a lane and execute it consistently rather than continually modifying dishes that customers already liked. So here's the bottom line. Rumcow is not the Rumcow of yesteryear. Was the food terrible? No. But it was mostly meh, and that may be the most disappointing part. This used to be a place known for memorable dishes and small details done right. Right now it feels like a restaurant that has drifted away from what made it special. The atmosphere and service are still good, but the food just doesn't match the reputation it once had.

I was not in love but I think there are some caveats there because I am not the typical customer. First, we appear to have come right at the height of their dinner rush. It took a while to get seated. The hosts told us to sit at the bar and then the bartender kicked us out of our stools because we were waiting for a table and apparently the bar stools were only for people who were eating, so we had to go find a bench. When we did get seated they put us at a really weird high top in a separate room when there was a much nicer low top available in the main room that we switched to. I got the sense both that this place was kind of hectic and that they didn't think they needed our service. But then as we were eating it cleared out all of a sudden and we were the only people left at like...8 pm. Our server was...accetptable. Not rude, but kind of short. Compared to the lovely personable service we got at other places in Wilmington it felt...I dunno, New Yorky? Then there was the food. And here comes my biggest caveat. I am pescstarian and do not eat chicken. So I ordered a shrimp po boy. It was not good. Not bad. But not good. Especially for the price which, honestly, competed with the prices where I live in DC. Every other person around me ordered chicken. My husband ordered chicken. He really liked his chicken. So obviously, this is a place where you get chicken (if the name didn't make it obvious). Had I ordered chicken I likely would have enjoyed my meal a lot more. But if you have shrimp po boys on the menu, endeavor to make them decent or take them off. Also I subbed a side cesar instead of fries and it was an afterthought. The fries themselves were excellent. If I ate chicken and came back to Wilmington I would maybe give this place another shot but as it stands, nah.

Lives up to its review **…read more we were originally on our way to a place Perla for oysters, our friend suggested it. I was looking at near by restaurants and decided to try seabird instead - as we wanted to come to the boardwalk anyways. I am so glad we changed our route to seabird. Venue: quite quaint than I thought but it is elegantly and uniquely presented. Food: ordered tuna crudo, short rib burger, eggs Benedict and of course the oysters. We loved every plate ordered. First oyster, super fresh, clean and exactly the type of oysters we are looking for. The condiments were made fresh and complimented the oysters very well. Burger was good- tender meat and seasoned well; this plate was ordered for my teen son- he said it was good but not worth $25 for a burger. Sturgeon eggs Benedict was cooked to perfection - perhaps one salt sprinkle away from absolute perfection but that's why the table salt is for. The shaved dill pickle it came with complimented The richness of the Benedict. The star of the show today for us the tuna crudo - oh my! What a complex taste - sweet, salty, savory, tangy, creamy and fresh- the savory tuna meets the sweet watermelon, fresh cucumber- spicy pepper with amazing watermelon cream dressing. I wanted to lick the whole sauce off the plate. Also ordered strawberry brownie icecream and I was in love! Creamy- not too rich or sweet - refreshing and perfect all in all, we all loved every bite. Service: exceptional service from entering the door to exiting. Our server was amazing. We are definitely coming back and recommending it to the friend who recommended us Perla

The funny part? The kitchen initially sent out the shrimp dish... without the shrimp. We had to ask for them to bring the missing shrimp, which they quickly corrected. I couldn't help but imagine Chef Gordon Ramsay standing in the kitchen shouting, "You served the shrimp dish without any shrimp, you muppet!" That alone was worth a chuckle. We sat at the bar, where service is usually outstanding. This time the bartender was clearly overwhelmed and stretched thin, so things moved a little slower than normal. Even so, everyone remained professional and friendly. Chef Dean Neff has set a very high standard here, and it's easy to understand why Seabird has received so much recognition and James Beard attention over the years. The food quality, creativity, and consistency continue to make it one of our favorite spots in Wilmington. A missing shrimp on a shrimp dish and slower-than-usual bar service keep this from being a perfect score, but neither issue was enough to spoil the meal.
