Came here on a Wednesday afternoon. Place was medium busy. The place was very cool, an outside seating with a sick entrance. Inside was a small brewery to the left and bar tot eh right, very rustic interior. We sat upstairs, the bartender was our waitress and came up with menus. The food menu and beer menu was extensive. There was also a. Happy hour from 2-5 menu that had cheaper options but it was 12 pm for us. I got the fish and chips, substituted mashed potatoes instead of the coleslaw. The fish was really tasty, and paired well with the sauce, it seemed like it was recently caught. The fires were also very nice with whatever seasoning they used. The mashed potatoes were good. Was a great eating experience at Front End Brewery, most noticeable thing was our waitress was on top of things, with orders and refilling orders, some of the best service I've had.
Went to Front St Brewing on a nice Friday night and sat at the bar to watch the Knicks game. The beers are decent, lot of different styles and cocktails for those not into the beer scene. The highlight of this place for me was the food. I got the Fish and Chips while my wife got the American burger. Fish and chips was some of the best I've had recently, perfectly good size breaded piece of haddock that was crispy and delicious with every bite, fries were also on par. My wife loved her burger which I also had a couple bites of. Seasoned beautifully and she keeps talking about the tomato cucumber salad she had as a side. Our bartender was quick and willing to offer good options to order from. Very nice spot in Wilmington.
2 ate dinner for $51.86 before tip and including an appetizer. Inside is beautiful - nostalgic throw back - high ceilings low lit - nice - bar vibe so no tablecloths - bathroom clean on Saturday night - Pretzel was amazing - the cheese made it - Pretzel Chicken Sandwich on point!
My sister and I stopped in this spot right on the main drag in downtown Wilmington for shrimp and grits (me) and fish and chips (her). She said her fries were cold, but that her fish was excellent. Looked like cod to me. Mine was interesting. The grits were grit cakes. They needed salt, but other than that, it was good. Good amount of shrimp and a tasty sauce. Decent prices, and Wilmington doesn't have the meals tax that I'm used to paying at home, so that was a pleasant surprise. Friendly service. Everything came out quickly, too.
Loved my experience at Front Street Brewery! I tried the Pineapple Paradise sour and it was delicious! On top of that I got some really yummy food. Our server was very attentive and kind and was great at her job. The atmosphere was very upbeat and fun!
Great experience all around. Good vibe and cool bar with a solid beer list and a crazy whiskey list. I got beer nuggets and a chicken salad sandwich, super solid. Bartender, Kiegan, was fantastic. Prices were on point. Everything was awesome.
Good service and really good (but small) pretzel. I am nocking off a point due to the limited number of beers on tap. I saw only six and if you are going to have a tap room you need more. Other than that it was well worth a stop in.
Front Street Brewery is near the corner of N Front Street and Market Street, about a block from the Cape Fear River. I went on a fairly warm day and chose to sit outside with our dogs. Before worrying about the humans, the staff immediately asked if it was okay to bring a bowl of water for the dogs. That was really nice of them. I had the beer batter fish and chips with a pint of their original pilsner. The fish batter perfectly coated the fish and was fried just right. There were no soggy, oily spots and no spots that still tasted like batter. The ice-cold pilsner added a nice, light flavor on a warm day. Although we were sitting outside, we were not forgotten. The staff kept checking up on us, but not so often that it felt intrusive.
This review is only on the bar. We were looking to try one of the local breweries after a hike. We were impressed with the selection and quality of the beers. In addition, they have an amazing assortment of bourbon, too! Initially, Schweety was going to try one but it was included in one of the featured flights so we ordered that. Each was very good!!! Our bartender was very knowledgeable and greatly enhanced our visit.
Had a nice visit here recently with relatives. The menu had a number of interesting options and the service was good. I chose the Slapwich because the name was funny and seemed like a great combination. I must admit that while the sandwich was pretty good, it did not quite live up to its name. Nevertheless, I would not hesitate recommending this place.
Was expecting beer and some pub grub. What I got was a nice experience with tons of options in food and drink. I liked they had a special food selection under $10. So I tried the grilled cheese with bacon. Very good. I had a taster flight and these folks brew legit beer. The bar was beautiful. Old school style and made me feel like I stepped back in time. Oh and their selection of spirits is massive. Barkeep was friendly and very efficient. She took orders with no notes from everyone and never skipped a beat. Great spot for food and beverage. Try it out.

I'm out of town, like usual, and I decided that I wanted to grab a burger. I turned to Yelp to help me find the best burger in the area and Yelp did not let me down! I went to Front Street Brewery and got the American Burger. That was a great decision. I had a very long road trip to get to this destination and I wanted to grab something to assist me unwind. I grabbed the FSB Old Fashioned to start and the American Burger to go. The Old Fashioned was amazing! The cocktail brought some serious flavor! They boast about having the largest selection of whiskey and from the looks of the bar, I believe them! The burger was nothing short of spectacular. It was two smash burgers with American cheese, lettuce, pickles, onions, and tomatoes. The price was great for the flavor that I received. This was a great way to start my trip. I cannot wait to come back and try something else on the menu! read more
Stopped by here with my daughter and some of her friends for lunch. I don't think they take reservations. We had about a 45 minute wait for a table of 6 which was understandable as it was pretty busy at noon on Thursday. Drinks came quickly as we were seated. Appetizers were hit or miss. Fried pickles were surprisingly good and I'm not a pickle fan. However the pretzel was disappointing. Food was comparable to what you would find at other pubs. My smash burger was fantastic. We did have one issue where the vegetarian in our group got served a chicken bowl by accident. However they quickly remedied it and got him what he ordered ASAP. Unfortunately we were mostly done by the time his food came. They did comp the food that was late which was nice. If you are looking for a good bite and tasty beer then I would totally recommend this place. read more

I will begin with the beautiful, massive, antique bar that demanded my attention. I became mesmerized by the details of the carvings, the display of spirits, the way the light hits the bottles. Everything about this bar was epic! Our waitress was very kind and accommodating. We ordered pub fries for appetizers. Delicious! Fries fried crispy topped with a cheese sauce, covered in bacon, drizzled with shredded cheese and green onions. We scraped the plate! Our burgers were good. Fresh tasting ground beef with great toppings. I would have preferred my fried green tomatoes more ripe. If ever in the downtown Wilmington area this is a thumbs ! read more

What an unexpected surprise! Architecturally beautiful, great food, and excellent service...all in one place. We both ordered "Our Famous Pulled Chicken Nachos". Very good! We're not beer drinkers so can't speak to their brews. Menu has lots of interesting choices. Our server was excellent. She was friendly, timely, and pleasant. The amazing bar architecture is a must see! They did a great job of maintaining the old and keeping it fresh looking. Will definitely return on our next visit to Wilmington. read more
Great service and cool location in the heart of Wilmington! We sat at the bar and had some drinks and took advantage of the appetizer happy house! We ordered a pretzel for 2.99, it came with a side of mustard! I don't know what they did, but it was one of the best pretzels I had (coming from a German). The beer was good and while we didn't order any, it looked like they had a huge variety of liquor. There is outdoor seating out front, some upstairs seating and plenty of space in the main area. Will definitely be back when we are visiting Wilmington again. read more
I like the vibe of this brewery. It was so chill even with the amount of customers. My friend suggested that we have lunch at this restaurant based on how much she has enjoyed her past visits here. I have to say that she was right on with this suggestion. The interior has two levels, a bar and a distillery area. Customer seating options include the bar, high top tables and booths. Our seats were comfortable. Our waitress greeted us in a short amount time and offered menu recommendations when asked. I ordered the chicken tender plate. I had to really stare at my plate when I received it. The tenders were so big I thought I accidentally received chicken fried steak. The chicken was tender and flavorful. I enjoyed the fries and coleslaw as well. This is a must visit when you are in the Wilmington area. It's a place worth checking out! read more

Came here for dinner a few nights ago before having to pick up a friend at the airport. Looked like a fun place to eat with good brews on tap. Keegan was our server and she was darling. Such a sweet and fun person that made us all smile! The restaurant was set up like a nice pub with views of the brewing process. We ordered some beer as well as the pretzel with mustard and queso on the side. As you can see from the pic, the pretzel was delicious! Barely got a picture! For dinner my vegetarian friend had the roasted portabello pita and said it was delicious and filling. She loved that there were several veg/vegan options on the menu. Two others had the shrimp and grit cakes and both loved them! The grit cakes were amazing! I had a regular burger with fries on the side. The burger was cooked perfectly and juicy. Fries were delicious and good to dip in the queso from the pretzel. We would definitely go here again! Thanks for a great service Keegan! read more

Y'all- this place is GOOD. They have their own signature beers and offer whiskey flights as well. We split the chicken nachos and a pretzel with queso. Everything arrived super quickly and the bartender was attentive and friendly. It's a small spot but offers outdoor and indoor seating- they fill up quickly so plan ahead. Pro tip- add a little dab of brown mustard from the pretzel to your nachos. Thank me later. read more

Because everywhere was so busy and long wait times were over an hour we were glad to find Front Street. We only waited approximately 30 minutes and we shopped to the close by stores until they texted us. We were thankful to be sitting upstairs in the back because it was a little loud but not really any louder than any other brewery style restaurant. Keegan was our waitress and she was very attentive and on top of things. I ordered the chicken sandwich without the bun and added cheese and teriyaki sauce with fries. there was a delay in our food coming out because apparently they burnt the chicken and remade it but Keigan kept us informed. definitely a good dinner and experience. read more

My wife is amazing at finding places for us to eat and explore. We knew we had guests visiting us that wanted to check out Wilmington. She did her research and found this place as one of our options to eat. We were exploring the historic downtown area of Wilmington and decided to grab some food. My wife checked her research and this place was very close. We walked to Front Street Brewery and entered the historic building. The brewery began producing craft beer in 1995 at this location that had previously sat vacant from 1982 until 1994. The location had many lives. It began as a dry goods store in 1865, was at one point the largest carpet store in the state. It once had a dentist office, sold suits, musical instruments and was a men's clothing store. It was not too busy and we were seated right away in a booth. We were provided menus and offered drinks. They have a full bar specializing in bourbon and they brew their own nice selection of beer. We all wanted water but I added a Port City IPA. Our server Ryan was awesome and helped us navigate the menu as we made our selections. We decided on a few appetizers, the beer nuggets with both queso and marinara and also the brewery soft pretzel with queso. When Ryan returned we placed our orders. Our table of four ordered the following: shrimp and grits, the American burger, the pimento burger and the shrimp plate. Our appetizers arrived in a timely manner and while the pretzel was good, the beer nuggets were amazing! Our entrees arrived a short time later and also looked delicious! We all enjoyed our selections and thought the portions were generous as well. After our meal, we went to look at their beer to go and swag. My wife and I thought the building itself was spectacular and we inquired about the tap room upstairs and Ryan offered to take us on a short tour. He told us the third floor tap room is primarily used as an event space but opens on the weekends as well. We could easily see how this would work very well as both a private event space and overflow for busy weekends. The second floor mezzanine is impressive as well and offers fantastic views of the first floor. Overall, this was a fabulous experience. The service, the food and the environment was top notch. We highly recommend to others in the area! read more
