Super fun place to check it. It is pretty big (back garden, upstairs, and tables up front), which means it can get super packed. There was a whole pub crawl group when we went and it definitely got busy! Frozen drinks, THC drinks, beers, and cocktails for drinks. Ended up getting a guava wit 6 pack on the way out and it was great - sour, fruity, very drinkable. Lots of food options but we were told to get the garlic knots and we definitely needed those! The sausage and fennel pizza was delicious, I do wish the fennel had been a little more caramelized/charred. First time checking out the Wilmington location. Had previously visited the one in Raleigh. Located downtown Wilmington, just a short walk from Hidden Grounds (iykyk). Such a fun atmosphere with lots of carousel horses hanging from the ceiling. Plenty of indoor sating with an expansive outdoor patio. Dog friendly outside, plenty of shade, extra large umbrellas, adk chairs if you want some sun, water cooler and walk up garage bar. Heaters for the colder months. Tried a cold IPA which was a collab with another brewery. Blueberry mule was a vibrant purple. Both tasty! Will be back for drinks and lunch during football season with the pups. I'm so sad that our Ponysaurus in Raleigh isn't like this place. It's a really cool spot! The exterior is a house so it's got a unique vibe to begin with. The interior is fun and reminds me of a moody old diner - think Nighthawks. The beer selection is great and they also have some great frozen cocktail selections too. I'm a huge sucker for frozen cocktails, especially when it's hot out, so I was very pleased. My friend and I ordered several piña coladas, delicious and refreshing! I was also super impressed with their outdoor seating area. There was lots of shade and a great selection of spots to sit at. The landscaping they had in that area was also nice and really added to the ambiance. It's a really great spot to check out on a nice day! My friends and I went here not long after they opened on a Saturday. It was surprisingly empty. There's plenty of seating outside and downstairs, plus an upstairs area when it's open. You can order from a QR code at the table, and they just started offering in person service, which we prefer. The waitress was nice and good about checking in. My Italian sandwich was good, a little messy. Curly fries were honestly the best part! I ordered a beer flight. To be honest, I've always found Ponysaurus' beer a little average. Unfortunately, my friend found a hair in burger when it came. Yuck! Ponysaurus is a great spot overall. They have a large bar with tons of beer, wine, and liquor options. There are QR codes on every table to order food from your phone. The food is really good and reasonably priced. One pizza is perfect for 2 people to share. From the outside, it's easy to underestimate the space, but there's tons of seating indoors and a large courtyard in the back. Even when it's slammed, we've always been able to find a spot to hang out. They also have a fair amount of TVs around if you want to watch sports. There are so many breweries to choose from in the area but the name alone pulled me in Luckily, the beers were fantastic! In a world were the selection at many breweries, in my opinion, has run to too many hazy IPA's, Ponysaurus has an amazing selection. It's a great spot offering 24 taps featuring their craft beers, a full bar, and a diverse menu that includes pizzas, sandwiches, burgers, and brunch options on weekends. The venue is pet-friendly, has outdoor seating in the front and back of the venue. The outdoor seating in the back is very spacious and has a beautiful outdoor fireplace. We visited just as they were finishing up the holiday decorating, it was super fun and festive. I will say the set up is a little funky in that the bar and food are completely separate as far as paying. You order your drinks, pay for them or keep an open tab and then have to use the QR code to view the menu / pay for your food. They have a $5 flatbread special on Thursdays which is a great deal! I got the blistered tomato and pesto flatbread, it was super flavorful and enough to leave you full. They have additional locations in Raleigh and Durham that I can't wait to check out! read more

I really like this place and struggled between 4 and 5 stars. Here is the breakdown for this place. Drinks - 5 Stars Known for their beers on tap. Also have a full bar with cocktails and even about a half dozen frozen adult slushies. Very large bar area with plenty of seating. You have to order drinks at the bar, even if you are seated elsewhere. Food - 4 1/2 Stars Pizzas are the primary item showcased on the menu. Several specialty pizzas on the menu. Build your own as well. We did order a pizza and it was pretty damn good. All pizzas are 14" and to they appear to me to be Neapolitan style. Other food items to select from as well, including wings, sandwiches, salads, and bar type snacks. Ambiance & Location - 4 Stars Location is in downtown, just a block and a half from Front Street. Parking is street or deck, no private parking. Large outdoor area in the front. Seating inside has a large bar area and booths. First level and upstairs seating available. Very nicely decorated. Kid friendly, to a degree. They have signs posted to keep your kids under control. Dog friendly outside. Boomer Alert I say this with all due respect, but I would not recommend this place to my boomer mother. She would flip out. Why? - All drinks must be ordered at the bar, including non-alchohic drinks. Water is the only exception. - There are no menus. You scan the QR code at the bar stool or the booth to not only see the food menu, but to also order the food. You pay for the food in advance using the app. Someone then brings the food out when it is ready. I don't have an issue with this. To me ordering and paying in the app is very efficient. - You are expected to bus your own table. They even have specific bins to place glassware, plates and utensils. My only minor issue with Ponysaurus is having to go to the bar for a Coke. I get having to go to the bar for beer, but why not have a fountain station for Cokes and tea? Just my 2 cents. read more

It was a quiet, rainy, and chill Sunday. The pizza was good the knots were hot, and the beer was cold. I'd recommend the "Don't Be Mean."

Amazing selection of beers, great beer garden out back with tables, heaters and a gas burning fireplace. Food was outstanding, we tried multiple pizzas and appetizers and they were all very good. Con's - Had a bad experience with a female staff member, she was a little rude to our group but it wasn't a big deal, most folks in our group of 12 just ignored her. There was construction going on in front of the brewing, so it wasn't completely convenient to walk there with my stroller (meaning you can walk extra steps to go to the stoplight to safely cross the street, depending where you park). Didn't look like they had their own parking. Decided to park (and pay $4.85 for 1.5 hrs via phone) on the street, but the parking garage is close by. The front door entrance wasn't the most obvious, just a white door with a sign of no pets please. Both indoor and open outdoor seating. Indoors there is a second floor seating with stairs to access. No highchairs, but inside the two gender neutral bathrooms, they have stalls with one of the bigger stalls having a baby changing table. So it was nice to have privacy changing my kids diaper. In fact, the changing table was so new that they still had the instructions bag with screws inside the table and the disposable changing pad liner bag was unopened. Once we entered, staff at the bar gave us the lowdown of how to order, where you order food by scanning the QR code at each one of the tables and if you want alcohol, then you order at the bar. They didn't mention that there is a self serve station with utensils, ketchup, mustard, plastic cups, water, extra napkins, tin lightweight plates, and to-go containers in the back. That would've been nice to know ahead of time. The QR code at each table is specific for that table, where it knows the table number, so you'll have to scan the code of where you want your food to be delivered. FOOD: We tried the fried cheese curds ($11), crab dip ($14), margarita pie ($16), vodka sauce pie ($17), veggie burger ($16), and cannolis ($9.99). Got a side of curly fries ($5), but the veggie burger does come with the same curly fries. Everything was good, except the crab dip-it was not my favorite. It definitely has a lot of crab, but just not as creamy/cheesy for my preference. They only give you two options of either carrot sticks and celery sticks or crackers to come with the crab dip, but I added it in the comment to send crackers as well if possible. And they did send crackers, which was nice. The crackers were oily and a bit brittle so you wouldn't be missing out on much if you skipped it. The fried cheese curds would be something I would get again next time. Came with ranch dip and the ricotta cheese chimichurri dip. Both of the dips were good, but the fried cheese curds tasted best with just the plain ol ranch dip. They make their own pizza dough, which actually tasted good. The crust was crispy too. No complaints about the pizza other than they should evenly disperse the fresh basil on the margarita pie. Friend ordered the vodka sauce pie-I would definitely get this next time. The vodka sauce pie came with prosciutto, roasted mushrooms, fresh arugula, mozzarella cheese, and vodka sauce. Veggie burger is mushroom based, and it is definitely very mushroomy. I liked it with all the other ingredients in the burger. Bit pricey though. Curly fries were crispy. Cannolis were given as four small cannolis with a chocolate chip filling. They were good. I would get this again next time. read more

Yum!! Nice casual place to grab pizza/beer/wine and sit outside. You order drinks at the bar and bring them with you to your table, then order food online and someone brings it out to you. We both got a glass of Cab which was fine, I'm sure beer is more up their alley. The Margherita pizza was good, but the Chai Spice Zeppole was by far my favorite part of the meal! The brewery features a long taproom and a large outdoor beer garden that's dog-friendly, with unique shady spots making it an ideal spot to relax. The decor is quirky and aligns well with the playful brand name, featuring some small dinosaur motifs that add a touch of whimsy. There's a couple awkward areas that could be more convenient to move around, but otherwise a pleasant and interesting layout. The large outdoor area has a "secret garden" feeling to it. A nice surprise. Makes me want to visit the Durham location, since this is just a smaller version apparently. Ponysaurus boasted a diverse range of beers, and there's definitely something here for every palate. Seasonal brews and experimental beers seem to also regularly be featured. The staff was super friendly and passionate about their offerings. The couple I had an indepth conversation with also were well-versed in the nuances of each one. read more

We hit up Ponysaurus following a concert at Greenfield Lake. They are open until 11 pm and serve pizza until then so it was perfect for later night eats. You order beer at the bar and food with a QR code at the table. They use San Marzano tomato cans to hold the pies which was clever. The interior has a wall of booths and there is a lot of outdoor seating as well. The bar is a bit poorly designed because the light fixtures hang down where you can't see the TVs. We had a the basic cheese pizza with a side of ranch, and it was tasty with good cheese pull. We also had the IPA and Hefeweizen type beer. The beer was decent. This is a great addition to the downtown bar scene! They have a full bar, wine, and beer menu as well as pizza, sandwiches, apps, and salad. Food is delicious. Whoever the manager was on Friday 5/15 (PM) is a piece of work. My friends and I sat at a table next to two others, one was waiting on food; the other had a server take a full drink and food menu in the moments that we sat down. The manager came around 10 minutes later and demanded we all get up because we were in a reserved space. All of us at the tables were confused, but we all got up. There was no where else to sit so we stood next to the bar to finish our drinks, close our tabs and leave. I mentioned to the manager that the signs that were up saying reserved were definitely not there when we walked to sit; I'm in the industry and am pretty aware of signage. She snapped aggressively saying the signs have been up since 3:30. Multiple servers were also confused and later confirmed the sign was not there because we all felt crazy. Needless to say we went somewhere else, mainly because the manager was so rude and aggressive. To top of all off, the space was reserved at 5:30 and no one had arrived still by 6:30..... read more

Definitely recommend this place. When I told natives I was coming to the area it was one of the places recommended to me. I've also seen cute little Instagram reels highlighting this place so I had to come. Really enjoyed the ambience of the place, especially outdoors. There is a place to order beer both inside and outside. They have many beers to choose from. They also sell food. it is a great location downtown and many other places as well.
